Wow a tummy tuck! Yes 10stone is a bit of a bug bear for me too, still got 41/2lbs to get TO it, never mind under! I struggle with lbs & kilos, is it approx 21/2lb-1k?

divadoll · 11/11/2010 13:46

I had promised myself one when I turned 40 and the then boyfriend was going to pay for it but the recession hit his business and he has since passed away, so it is all down to me now. Aiming for my 45th now as it is all going south no matter how many hundreds of sit ups you do every week Grin

greenfig · 11/11/2010 16:17

Good for you, v brave. You've done so well to diet after such an awful bereavement, I think I'd have doubled in size. I'd take an anaesthetic & surgery over sit ups any day!

cairns · 11/11/2010 17:13

Wow divadoll that would be some motivation.

Welcome greenfig I do think we are on a similar path , have lost approx 11lbs so far but still have 6 to go that elusive 10st mark and another 10 or so on top of that to my final target. My loss seems to have plateaued although I have had quite a few visitors/ evenings out recently which means more pv days and less p days to balance out. I tend to stick/gain 0.5lb after a pv day but drop again after a p day, on the positive so far the scales have been moving in the right direction. I have been trying to exercise though or walking miles with the buggy which I think is helping too.

cairns · 11/11/2010 17:19

I forgot to mention that I am finding this ok so far, I have tried to lose some weight before with healthy eating but never successfully been able to stick to it. I think because some things are such a no go and also I can eat when I want it works so far for me. Fab!

divadoll · 11/11/2010 18:30

The only other diet that worked for me was the Cambridge as not eating is really easy for me, but it isnt good at keeping it off. A quick fix but I needed to do it a few times a year to keep it off. This way I EAT FOR ENGLAND and still lose the weight. I had a huge piece of smoked haddock tonight with some brocolli and a couple of slices of carrot and am stuffed Smile

greenfig · 11/11/2010 21:41

Cairns 11lbs is fab! Did you start about 1 month ago? I have only tried 'sensible' eating in the past too but then kid myself that I've been good & just end up not losing enough fast enough. I eat quite healthily but wine & lack of exercise & generous portions have taken their toll. I really can't call it baby weight as my youngest is now 7! I could never manage a non eating diet divadoll you must have some willpower! I am finding the hardest part not eating veg in the eves. I am fine during the day but am a foodie (I am a caterer) so want to eat something more yummy for supper. I guess I'll have to be more strict as I don't seem to be losing as fast as you ladies. However it's coming off slowly & not hungry at all, even managed to avoid buttered crumpets that the children had for tea tonight!

Well no loss today...seems to follow a PV day so maybe its water retention. PP day should mean I am a pound down tomorrow. Still 5lb in 12 days is about right, but weekends are that much harder to keep on the right track Confused. Re tummy tuck, I have been looking into this for ages as I have a pretty toned body due to heavy gym classes 4-5 times a week but that baby bag wont shift. My friends have just had boob jobs and one had hers in Brussels for half the price. I have saved enough for the tummy tuck itself but am now trying to get a bit of lipo added to it to 'tidy up' the sides. So Brussels here I come Smile

greenfig · 12/11/2010 09:28

Well done Lottie! A friend of mine put on lots of weight with twins & she was eating for England for a good year after too, as she was always so exhausted. The good news is she is now really fit & looking great, I think the double whammy just meant it took longer for her body to recover. It's so hard to fit in the exercise & keep motivated with lack of sleep, illness & 2 routines to fit in but you'll get there.

cairns · 12/11/2010 09:55

Good morning , well done lottie your perseverence is paying off, you have lost so much to date is a real inspiration
yes greenfig I started a month ago , wow time flies and I have never lost this much weight this quickly before. The scales dropped another 1lb this morning and that was after a pv day , although I am anticipating to stick or gain a little after this weekend as we have visitors (mil again as she is babysitting) and we are going away. Currently planning an evening menu.

I find that I too am craving veggies on my p days in the evening. Both p and pv days I am pretty much p only until the evening and then the evening is when I have the veggies . I am finding that I have been eating either baked fish with capers and lemon or chicken tikka with a mint yoghurt dip on my p days works for me re flavour. On pv days I have been making either chicken casseroles, fish soups and also chicken jalfrezi curries as I am not a fan of salad when it is cold outside , dh/visitors can eat the same I just don't have any rice, potatoes bread ( and bizarrely I don't crave them either)

greenfig · 12/11/2010 10:41

Well done cairns & have a good w/e! What a nice mil, lucky you! Looking back I can see I have made a much bigger loss following p days & only 1/4 or 1/2 lb on pv. Any deviation (usually wine) & I can set myself back 1 1/2lb so I guess that's why its a bit of a slog. We are out tonight so will be pv & possibly wine so must try harder to go pp over w/e to make some progress. Dukan said I'd reach my consolidation by Christmas but that's not going to happen now. Goodness knows what January will bring!

PandaBear · 12/11/2010 13:20

Feeling virtuous - just got back from my first session at the gym in over 2 months. Felt really dizzy whilst exercising, but am now tucking in to a delicious lunch of sweet chilli chicken and cottage cheese, washed down with diet coke and a fat free natural yoghurt to follow. Wow, I really know how to live Grin

greenfig · 12/11/2010 14:26

Well done you Pandabear I have been cooking for 2 days as have 4 jobs this w/e. Made sm salmon & avo terrine this am & ended up polishing off 3/4 of an avocado & 2 slices of sm salmon as it was left over. Can avocado really tip me over the edge? I wish I'd just binned it & stuck to boiled eggs as planned!

cairns · 12/11/2010 14:27

Well done pandabear that is great. Greenfig half a stone in 3 weeks is amazing weight loss over 2lbs a week, I'll take that anytime. I have had a few cheats too when out with Dh or when MIL around. I had a long spritzer or gin and slimline tonic. I do think they held me weightloss as that is what caused the plateau I think. As long as it is going downwards I think whatever pace is OK, as it is reasonably OK to stick to.

divadoll · 14/11/2010 10:55

Nope...another stagnant weekend. I am retaining water so need to up my intake as I have gone back to 73.1 :( At this rate I am only losing about 1-2lb a week and I have 20 to go!!!!!

greenfig · 14/11/2010 15:36

Much better than me! I had a glass of wine fri night & salad dressing but otherwise was good & was a lb up on sat. Working all day & didn't get chance for lunch until 3pm, by which time I was starving but was gagging over my by now room temp sm. mackerel! After a long day cooking lunch for others my back was killing & I really wanted a drink! Was too shattered & disinterested to cook so had 3 glasses of wine then ham & eggs late. Up another lb this am. Am determined to do 3 days on attack to get back on track as I seem to lose so slowly. It will take me all week to repay 4 glasses of wine. To top it all I felt hungover & like I deserve a pub lunch! Hey ho, on the bright side my clothes are more comfortable so the now 5lb loss in almost 4 weeks has to be worth it?!? (confused)

Have lost 2lb I gained + 1/2lb extra! Am now lowest I've been for a year, fantastic, lets hope it's not 1 day only!! Enthused to stay on attack for a couple more days. Well done Lottie slow & gradual is good (I keep telling myself) the big losses are just REALLY motivating though!Hope you had a good w/e Cairns & not too much damage...

lailarose · 15/11/2010 16:07

Hey all!!

Firstly I have to say what an inspiration everyone is - it is such a huge boost to read all your success stories but I am also now mega prepared for periods of occasional weight gain or plateau.

I started the attack phase this morning! I literally have had no time to prepare but have stuck to it so far..also I have not weighed myself but figured I could do that this evening.

I wanted to ask if anyone has slipped up and if so, is it best just to do pure protein for a few days? I have a huge Xmas party coming up and know I will not be able to resist some drinks...awful as that sounds. Let's hope I prove myself wrong.

I have around 3 stone to lose to get me down to just under 9 stone...main reason I am doing this? To get my confidence back..being a 24 year old I should be feeling my best and loving life - it sucks how weight/your appearance can hugely effect you but hey ho..i'm determined to change that now!

Well done to EVERYONE again for your amazing results....will keep you posted :)

greenfig · 15/11/2010 18:49

Hi lailarose well done & good luck! I have found I've fluctuated quite a bit, but slowly & steadily going down. I have not yet managed a whole week completely alcohol free Blush! & each time it's affected my progress. I did get really drunk one night on relatively little wine, so beware! Hangovers will also make it difficult to stick with it. Otherwise I have found the diet easy to stick to as not hungry & have had few cravings. It helps me to be prepared with lots of food in the fridge so I don't slip up. Weight loss will spur you on!

cairns · 15/11/2010 21:14

Hi ladies I am back ( and am avoiding the scales until tomorrow am)

Well done lottie and greenfig on your losses lowest weights are fab and great motivation for you and inspiring for everyone else. Welcome lailarose too.

Well had quite a bad few days, healthyish (although not strictly dukan) with the food I think, just awful with the alcohol (3 nights running ahem! ) i second the problem of hangovers too. On the positive I did feel a lot slimmer and dh even commented on a dress I was wearing which was nice. Am back on p days tomorrow for a couple of days to try and limit the damage.

cairns · 16/11/2010 07:40

Well I have weighed in and I am exactly the same! Woohoo how on earth has that worked ! Still going on p for a few days though!
