Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

we've all gone v. quiet, has the weekend sunk us already? Grin
Out for lunch today and as a veggie that usually mean the option of pasta or something-with-kilos-of-cheese. So will have to choose carefully!
I am quite regretting the lack of scales now but I am thinking maybe my face looks a little thinner. Maybe.

solo · 18/09/2010 18:25

I'm still going well. Cereal, 2 slices of toast and marmalade and an omlette of onion, mushroom and (small) cheese. No walking today, but I've been busy indoors.

SparkyMalarky · 18/09/2010 22:51

Hello hello hello - been a very busy bee today - lots of walking (round shops mainly!) and will have more tomorrow too - plus side of being busy - no time to eat - down side, took the kids out for te and DH and I demolished piles of garlic bread before our pasta arrived! Never mind - did pass on the ice cream so no junk has passed my lips today!

had soup and half a baguette (half a small onre, not a French stick!). I wanted the stilton bake but I had soup. Am stil slightly bitter about it Grin

Did weaken and eat a few squares of nutty chocolate (love it) last night but DD and I didn't bother with dinner as we'd eaten out and just had a few crackers, apple and the teeniest shavings of cheese.

Solo, your walking is amazing me. You must be thinner already!

cookielove · 19/09/2010 10:11

is it tooo late to join, i have had no Internet for three weeks, so have only just seen this now???

Tippychoocks · 19/09/2010 10:14

What's your situation?

SparkyMalarky · 19/09/2010 10:51

Come on in cookie :)

Solo - sounds lime you're doing v well - and you tippy:). I think a few squares of chocolate on a Saturday night is obligatory!

Weighed myself this morning ( been trying to keep away from the scales after all the advice on here) and down to 15 stone 10 - that's 4 pounds off! Hurray - and thanks for the support ladies :)

See how we get on next week!!

Ahhh i love my name Grin

ok deep breath, height 5'7/8 weighs just under 16 stone, started working at a nursery just under 7 years ago, i was a lovely size 12, god i miss that. Now a mere 7 years later i am a size 16 pushing 18, i hate how i look in the mirror, and as i am sure with most people i am stuck in the cycle of hating how i look, but struggling how to change, especially when food taste sooo good.

I also hate fruit so i find it hard to have a healthy snack, and i am sooo lazy when it comes to cooking. However i need to change, i got ewngaged last year, and i don't want to look like this when i walk down the aisle.

(no children, but very much want a few dozen)

Tippychoocks · 19/09/2010 11:12

Hurrah for Sparky.
Come on in cookie. Would you like some leek soup Grin?

cookielove · 19/09/2010 11:15

mmmm leek soup yummy

Tippychoocks · 19/09/2010 11:19

You'd think wouldn't you? But try it without potato and at practically every meal and you will be adding leeks to your hate list Grin

cookielove · 19/09/2010 11:21

Well to be honest leek is not at the top of my list for soup, however broccoli mmmmmmmmmmm could eat that forever

Winedine69me · 19/09/2010 12:14

This thread has grown...

I have been eating comfort junk food for 2 days and feel awful.
I am yet to eat anything today but have had 2 cups of coffee instead Blush
In my defence, I was running around after DS.

I have just tried to Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, oh my goodness!!!
I couldn't do certain exercises and feel physically sick, I am so out of shape.

Please someone give me a kick up the backside support and tell me it will be worth it/get easier.
Has anyone used the dvd? Does it work?

cookielove · 19/09/2010 12:17

ok, reading your last post, has just inspired me to get out my hula hoop, yu remind me of myslef, i feel so unfit, i'm 28 and get out of breath going up stairs (granted a few lung infections haven't helped that case) but i could be so much better.

Please don't laugh that i have a hula hoop, it is fun honest, and adult sized

Winedine69me · 19/09/2010 12:26

Cookielove-Sorry to hear about your ill health.
I don't have that justification, I am very unhealthy and am 23.
I know what food to cut out etc but exercise is something I don't get enough of. It doesn't help that I don't have any time to do anything either.

I'm not laughing. I think that sounds like great fun Smile. My flat is tiny and I would break a lot of things if I tried that he he. Hope you have fun.

Niecie · 19/09/2010 12:59

Hello everybody.

Welcome too, to Cookielove - I am a little jealous of you actually as you are roughly the same height/weight as me but you can still fit into size 16 even if you are nudging 18. I have been at size 20 until recently and am getting back into 18 but still dreaming of a 16. But it is funny isn't it, that some people can be our height/weigh and be a size 22 and I've never been that! I don't get it at all.

Anyway, I had a fairly bad food day yesterday but that was planned for and we were out all day walking round an animal park as DS2's birthday treat so did a fair amount of exercise.

The plan for next week would be to exercise more but I am a little peed off that just when the summer hols are over and I am getting back to healthy eating etc that I find myself with a dodgy knee and a return of my heel pain which I thought I had got rid of.

I shall just have to do Wii Fit sitting down. Does that count?

Today I have only had a cup of tea. I don't mind skipping breakfast as I am never hungry first thing and I am saving myself for cottage pie (not much potato, lots of veg so not too bad) for lunch. The difficult bit will be no chocolate this evening but I must persevere as I am down about 2lb this week and want it to stay that way for the Big Weigh-in tomorrow. Hopefully I will be back to where I was before the summer holidays then and I can start making some real progess.

Well done too to Spark Malarky on your massive loss. What a boost that must be.Smile

Tippychoocks · 19/09/2010 13:22

Winedine - that shred is supposed to be evil.

I have just bought (by accident) Beverly Callard's (do I mean her? - the skinny blonde one married to NI Jim off Corrie) exercise vid. I was looking at other ones in a charity shop but bought that one by mistake. Its very legwarmers and pink thongs and I don't really want to look like her. But I may give it a whirl.Twas only 10p either way but I meant to pick up a more modern one.

SparkyMalarky · 19/09/2010 14:56

Winedine - Ooh I've got The shred DVD too - I tried it once about 4 months ago and couldn't walk properly for a week. My challenge for this week is do it at least three times - it will get easier (it must!) - and there's a whole thread dedicated to it on here somewhere so it must work. Imagine - toned arms and a tummy that doesn't wobble!

Cookie - I too am jealous that you weigh the same as me and are nearly 2 dress sizes smaller - getting married is such a great motivation though - have you set a date yet? Have you thought about what kind of dress you'd like? (can you tell I luuurrrve weddings!!)

Tippy - you will have to tell us what Beverly thingy's DVD is like - will you be wearing a thong leotard and leg warmers to do it at home Wink?

Niecie - resist the chocolate. Mind you, I just had a chocolate cake bar so I can hardly talk - am having a cup of tea now before I do the online shop, so am hoping I won't be too hungry and distracted by the biscuit offers!

cookielove · 19/09/2010 15:52

Sparky
One of my very close friends has told me i must get married next year, as she has no other weddings to go to. Smile

My dp has only just got a job, after almost a year out of work, and we've just moved so he can walk to it. So its all been really hectic, we need to save save save so i can have my dream dress number 6 and 8 i like.

I carry almost all weight across my belly and thighs, my boobs are so small its scary.

There is no ill health any more, just everlasting effects. If i got fitter i'd probably better for it.

So i haven't read the whole thread, can someone give me a run done of how things are done?

cookielove · 19/09/2010 15:53

and i love the 2nd one on this one

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 19/09/2010 23:18

errr I may have accidently fucked up this weekend.

Will be good now!

solo · 19/09/2010 23:34

Hey all! :)
I've had a baaaaad weekend in all :( and haven't walked very much except around Tesco, but tomorrow's another walk day. Not looking forward to it tbh; my feet just about feel normal but I think I'm going to put my old walking boots on tomorrow and see if they help.
I may actually start eating diety type foods this week. Still haven't weighed myself and have no idea when I'll be able to and my clothes don't feel improved Hmm... I'm still going to keep it up though as apart from this weekend, I've definitely not eaten so much which could be tied in with the exercise...sorry about the punctuation...I can't breath! jeans are tight :(

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 20/09/2010 00:04

We shall start afresh tomorrow. I often find it easier at work. Weekens I ten to go a bit out of control and random times, or forget to eat for hours then eat way too much of wrong foods because starving.

dotty2 · 20/09/2010 09:41

Hello everyone. Cookielove - am same height as you, weigh just under 13 stone and can't get into size 16 trousers. Must be because all my excess weight is on my thighs and tummy. Am sick of people asking when my baby is due (3 years ago...).

Niecie - can you try swimming? I had a knee problem for ages last year that still lurks around in the background but swimming not only didn't make it worse, it helped it feel better (obv depends exactly what the problem is, though).

I've been doing the shred dvd (more like Shrek in my case if I catch a glimpse in the mirror) for a couple of weeks, 3 -4 times a week and it's getting easier. I like having something I can get done in 30 minutes, as opposed to a whole 90 minutes to go swimming by the time I've packed my stuff, walked there, got changed etc. On the other hand, there was an article in the Observer yesterday saying that exercise might not help you lose weight at all (because you have to do shed loads of exercise to burn off even one biscuit worth, and it also stimulates your appetite, so it's hard not to eat even more to compensate. So perhaps we should all just sit on the sofa. No biscuits, though!

Hi Everyone, Blush bad weekend - totally wicked and I have undone all my good work (ho hum). Still it's another week and another start. Must check out this shred thing as I can't seem to commit to going out to the gym. I feel like such a slob. I am wearing yoga trs around house because they are comfy and only put my (v too tight) jeans on when I have to go out. I refuse to buy a bigger size so have to face up to looking like a sausage!...
