Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

Oooh! that sounds a little 'Ladies Night/Festival' sillybilly :)

giraffesisonadiet · 06/02/2011 18:41

Hi back again. Keep losing thread and forgetting - oops. Anyway was at asthma nurse on friday and the computers were down so instead of using my nice 2yrs ago weight thats on the GP system she made me get weighed - bitch Wink it was in kg. I convered when I got home - oh my good god.

Lets just say I think the job stress, steroids and bad asthma meaning no exercise have all taken their toll :(

Yeserday ate well and did 25min exercise at work - marching, stepping sort of thing just to get moing. And today did hour and a half at gym. ANd have eatehn well so far.

Like my new name?

How are you all ladies?

solo · 06/02/2011 23:17

Loving the new name giraffes! and welcome back :) try and stay with us and we'll keep you going!

florencerusty · 07/02/2011 09:00

Cool new name Giraffe :)
I have caught my determination again - so this week I WILL lose! I think perhaps there were hormones at work because the awful dull achy tummy has gone and there was the most minimal bleed! Stupid minipill!

Also have decided my target is size 14 by July. Had lunch with a SIL last week and she mentioned that another SIL (who we see about twice a year) had commented that she was a fatty!!!!! second SIL is about size 8 and said she was resolving to lose 6lb - oh I'd like to slap her. Aside from that she is not the nicest personality ever and a bit focussed on looks. So first SIL and I have decided the July family bbq is the target! We'll bloody show her

solo · 07/02/2011 10:49

Good for you flo!!! you sound so confident, so you will do it :) bloody skinny sil grrr! but at least she's given you and nice sil some shove.

I've started my day with hot lemon water and boiled eggs so I'm hoping I too can lose this week.

Niecie · 07/02/2011 14:01

Hello! Sounds like we all have our weight lose mojo back! Hooray. Bloody Christmas and bloody hormones - it has taken ages for us to be all back in the swing of things together.

Flo - take comfort in the fact it will probably take your SIL who is a size 8 as long to lose her 6lb as it will for you to lose 4 times that. Unless she is a pigmy, nobody who is a size 8 has 6lb to lose. Anyway, knock em dead in July. I reckon you will do it! Grin

Welcome back Giraffes - you know you have no choice but to come back with your new name change don't you?

Hope everybody has a good week. Smile

sillybillymummy · 07/02/2011 20:46

Hello Ladies

My SIL is super skinny too.
I thought today would be my first stumbling block. A day with my parents. My terrible over-eating/ bad habbits, definitely started from them. I had them for lunch, and managed to stick to my regime, even with my mum trying to ram forbidden food down my throat.

I think we all have our mojo back - proof of that here - my hub said to me this morn, "ok, what have you done with my wife"
Because i came back from the supermarket with all the naughty food he likes.. and he said, why have you bought all that, you will surely be tempted? and i was like, 'no way, i'm on a mission!'

This week, i am letting myself eat out tomorrow evening. That is my treat, but apart from that, i am being really good.

Welcome back Giraffes

Flo: bring on the family bbq! And your gorgeous size 12 outfit!

My sisters wedding is in September. I really want to be a size 12 by then.

Regs74 · 07/02/2011 22:03

Hi sparky, if you want motivation I would love to help, am training to be a personal trainer to help mums as I think we get a raw deal on the fitness front. Dropping diets is a brilliant idea, know that it's dull but diets don't work, only a lifestyle change. Do you really need someone like me around- happy to but please tell me to poke off if you like. Stick with it, you have done the hardest part by starting so brilliant stuff, keep thinking of your bambinos and how proud they will be

giraffesisonadiet · 07/02/2011 22:34

Another 25min at gym today - I have eaten some choc digestives this eve though - oops

Yes solo will try and stay with it - need to glue me to the thread.

thats a good insentive silly

florencerusty · 08/02/2011 08:00

now look here Sillybillymummy a size 12?????? lol. Lets not get excited I had to read back and make sure I had typed 14!

We're going well in this house :)

I am impressed with the gym stuff giraffes, I'm sure thats my failing really.

Whats breakfast today ladies?

Niecie · 08/02/2011 09:18

I reckon you could be a size 12 Florence! Go for it!!

The only way I will get to size 12 weight is if I cut my leg off - you are a lot closer to being a 12 than me! Smile

Doing OK here but I agree with Florence that exercise is where I fall down. (Literally, then I have a little snooze lol)!

No breakfast today - never hungry first thing and it doesn't seem to make much difference to me whether or not I eat anyway. I have no time anyway as I am going to inhabit the grown up world of a business exhibition, helping DH out on his stand. It has been so long since I have done anything like that at all that I had to buy some proper smart shoes! Thank goodness for the sales. Wish me luck - I am wondering if I can still have sensible conversation with business types (could I ever actually Confused). We shall see!

solo · 08/02/2011 10:20

Lemon water and 2 weetabix with 1% milk. Was really hungry too.

sillybillymummy · 08/02/2011 18:30

Breaky: a bowl of fruit n fibre with skimmed milk & coffee

(yes i drank caffiene for the first time in a week, and my headache has gone, so it was definitely that!)

I go to the gym 3 times a week (but i usually have to miss 1 time for one reason or another, like tomorrow, i have to go get new tyres etc)

Florence - sorry, i was getting excited! I would be happy with being a size 14 by July, because i have a lush 14 dress i bought years ago, just before i got pregga's, only been out of the wardrobe once!

I think regs75 is right about the lifestyle change. I read on a thread about eating alpen light bars.. so i bought some. But they are still in the cupboard, because i realised, i don't want to snack! Unless it's fruit. And now i'm annoyed with myself for even having them in the cupboard!
Atleast if i do break, i will eat them, and not my hubbys kit kat chunkys!

Niecie - how did it go? i can't remember what it's like to wear office clothes now! It's been 3 years.

florencerusty · 08/02/2011 19:41

Gosh nice clothes and a work environment ...... blimey that all feels like ancient history. How was it Niecie?

Today hasnt been healthy but there have been NO snacks! so small mercies and all that. A 12 feels unacheivable tbh. I havent been that since 1988 and then it was shortlived! I really would be overjoyed with a 14 but we shall see. I am vertically challenged so not actually close at all lol

giraffesisonadiet · 08/02/2011 21:17

florencerusty - yes problem is I think that gives me lisence to eat crap lol

Took litle one for a long walk today was good, sore legs though. Went swimming afer work today - only did ten lengths as had to meet a friend, but it was the act of making time to go and keeping up my routien fo going after work that was more important.

Friend brought me choc though lol - which we shared. Watching tv now with a cuppa.

solo · 08/02/2011 23:52

I bought and ate chocolate with fruit and nut today :( sorry...

florencerusty · 09/02/2011 08:29

Oh bless you Solo, don't apologise. Today is another day :)

florencerusty · 09/02/2011 17:06

a darling friend came today and brought biccies to go with coffee, they were far to nice - so I missed lunch! arghhhh

sillybillymummy · 09/02/2011 22:07

Flo - that happened to me last week, she brought such nice goodies round, then we were eating them all afternoon. Then i felt really guilty all night!

solo · 09/02/2011 23:15

I don't have visitors...whay I do is I buy bits and pieces for Ds's packed lunches and eat them Blush

solo · 09/02/2011 23:15

whay? WHAT

florencerusty · 10/02/2011 08:46

I have stopped buying all biscuits because they are my biggest failing. But these were so nice and she left a whole packet here Blush arghhhhhh. I just feel we should get them eaten out of the way!

The scales are looking positive for tomorrow so far so fingers crossed

Niecie · 10/02/2011 09:29

Biscuits are not my weaknesses thank goodness - I have enough of those without adding biscuits to the pile! That said, I was out yesterday evening and did have a jaffa cake which is biscuit like even if it is a cake legally speaking so I won't claim to be a paragon of virtue!

Solo I am the same as you - we don't have guests bringing gifts. I end up buying stuff for the children and DH and put temptation in my own way. Blush

Day out with business types was OK. Things seem to have changed since I worked in an office. It seems it is obligatory for women to wear dark suits and white shirts. Dull, dull, dull. The men wear more colour than they do! I felt a teeny bit out of place in my red jumper but sod em. If they want to be drab, let them.

Managed to see a lecture on search engine optimisation for website placings on Google which sounds grown up but the effect was spoilt by a bunch of teenage boys from the local college sitting at the back being teenage boys, messing about and sniggering. I suppose I have teenage boys to look forward to in the not to distant future!

Rugbylovingmum · 10/02/2011 10:29

Hi all,

remember me ? I was on this thread for about a week then we went off to Centreparcs and things have just been manic since then - at work and at home - so eating well, exercising and mn all went out the window. The upshot is that when I weighed my self on Saturday I was a lb heavier than when I first posted. I'm now 14st 5lb Sad. The good news is things have calmed down at work, DP and DD are over their horrible virus and I spent last night cooking a load of healthy food to freeze ready for the week ahead. Here's hoping for a couple of quiet weeks so I can get into the swing of things and get some weight off. I have a hen do/weekend in July so I'm aiming to get down to a size 16 by then and treat myself to a lovely new dress.

solo · 10/02/2011 23:45

Don't worry about your now weight, just try to get stuck back into the weight loss thing with us. Welcome back.
