Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

No idea Niecie.

Do you think you could listen to him whilst you sleep? I realise that if your Dh doesn't want to lose weight, that may not be practical, but could be worth a try. That's probably what I'll be doing, but then again, I don't have a man to think about.

My job training was as a prison officer. Tough physical training too...couldn't do it now :(

frozenfestiveflo · 13/01/2011 14:11

Solo thats what I wnated to be when I grew up! Instead I was a mother.

Never looked at the PMc book, maybe i'll use it as a next resort if I fail this time.
Rugby - I am a foodfocuser as well. it's great :)

As for the OP, that was before my time lol

solo · 13/01/2011 14:11

The last time SparkyMalarky posted on anything was October 18th and her last post on here was the 5th Oct. I wonder if shes Ok or maybe she's just namechanged and not told us...? hmmmm, odd.

solo · 13/01/2011 14:47

Niecie · 13/01/2011 17:13

Hello 1hottmumma - feel free to join in - I don't know if you saw my link to Food Focus earlier today. It seems to help keep some of us on the straight and narrow. We aren't following any plan just trying to be sensible - at least until Christmas got in the way we were anyway!

I just got my psychology research journal I subscribe to. Don't snack whilst watching the telly because you forget what you have eaten which means you eat more later. They tested women, half of whom snacked in the morning whilst watching telly, half of whom snacked without telly. They then had their lunch an hour later. The telly snacking group not only couldn't remember what they had snacked which isn't surprising if they were watching telly but ate more too suggesting they didn't notice the full up feeling either. They tested men as well but found that they just tried to eat as much as possible and it didn't work on them. Hmm

And it didn't matter if the programme was sad, funny or boring which I find weird. You don't even have to be paying that much attention to the programme to have an effect!

I'm off to sell the telly.Grin

Hello everyone - how are you doing? (tis Sparky!) I was so touched that the lovely solo pm-ed me to check I was ok that I thought I should return!

Have been rubbish for a couple of months - manage to lose half a stone through illness and general stress, and then stuffed myself over xmas and put it (and 2 extra poundsBlush back on).

So - have lost the 2 extra pounds, but am stuck at 15 stone 10 again today, and need your help ladies!! Can I come back? pretty please? with sprinkles?

Niecie · 13/01/2011 18:14

Only if they are not chocolate sprinkles or hundreds and thousands.

Love the new name too.Smile

You are almost exactly the same weight as me on a good day so you can come back as this lot are all likely to meet their targets sooner than me and I'll be left all on me tod. EnvyGrin

solo · 13/01/2011 18:41

Yay!!! welcome back!!!

stepawayfromthebiscuits · 13/01/2011 23:35

Hurrah - and hello newbies :) I start afresh tomorrow - mainly as I am just drinking a cup of tea and eating a small handful of smarties, so will have to say today doesn't count.

Bugger.

solo · 14/01/2011 00:34

There are some MNetters trying to give away spare Paul McKenna tickets if anyone's interested?

frozenfestiveflo · 14/01/2011 09:09

Morning morning - so whats the news?

Tickets would be cool, but just too far away.

A small handful of smarties? Seems a little worry lol

Well I weighed and yay 3lb off - 12st 10lb now so next week I ought to be back to pre Christmas!

solo · 14/01/2011 09:30

Morning! shame about the distance :(

I've lost 2lbs am now 14st 3lbs :) very pleased as I actually thought I'd gained this week for some reason.

Got a muzzy head again today and a sicky feeling, was fine yesterday, but had the two days before that the same...probably peri menopausal ~ that or just lack of sleep. Hope it's the latter.

Rugbylovingmum · 14/01/2011 09:35

Morning everyone, thanks for the welcome. I had a quick weigh in on my wii fit this morning and am 14st 4lb so 1lb off this week. Quite pleased as AF making a visit this week and I really struggle to lose any weight at this time of the month. I'm hoping for more next week. We are off to Centre Parcs for a week on Monday so hopefully we will be doing lots of walking (if the rain stops long enough), swimming and chasing DD around the soft play.

frozenfestiveflo - hurray! 3lbs off is great.

stepawayfromthebiscuits - mmmm, I really fancy some smarties now. Just as well I'm at work so no temptation to nip to the shops.

Niecie - I'm going to have a look at that website later, anything free is worth a try.

solo - it's too far for me but a friend did give me a copy of his CD. I'm pretty skeptical but maybe I should give it a go - has anyone tried it?

solo · 14/01/2011 09:40

Rugby, there are lots of success stories on the web chat and Paul McKenna threads, so I reckon it's worth a good go :)

frozenfestiveflo · 14/01/2011 12:57

well I celebrated my loss with - a cookie! but its ok I have since been out trying to catch a cockerel - far from sedentary! lol

solo · 14/01/2011 13:58

Catch a cockerel?!! Shock you have chickens?! lucky you!!!! Envy

frozenfestiveflo · 14/01/2011 14:30

I do :) they are lush - only 3 after today as Norman is off to a new home, but I am sure I shall be up to 5 by the summer :) They are very addictive!

Rugbylovingmum · 14/01/2011 14:32

Oh dear, it's my birthday on Monday so one of the other mums at work baked chocolate buns with her kids and brought them in for tea break today. Not the best start to the week but very yummy and a lovely thought Grin.

solo · 14/01/2011 14:51

I'd love my own hens, but not sure if it'd be allowed in my area...having said that,my garden is more like a jungle anyway, so I'd have to deal with that first and I have niether the money or the energy.

I had a cheese and pickle sandwich for unch and again, I didn't enjoy it :(

solo · 14/01/2011 14:52

Never mind Rugby, just be good for the remainder of the year day. Wink

frozenfestiveflo · 14/01/2011 14:55

Solo, mine is rented and tbh have never asked permission (urban area too) But the neighbours like them and fresh eggs is always a winnerWink
I have my environmentally friendly arguement all ready for anyone that questions lol.
As for clearing the jungle - you'd only need to do a bit they are amazing gardeners lol
