I don't think while you are breastfeeding and up half the night is the best time to worry too much about your weight. I think I'd just get a bit of exercise and try to make some good food decisions in the day...

SgtAngua · 30/08/2010 23:44

I make great, healthy food decisions during the day & bad chocolate/cake biscuit type ones in the middle of the night.Grin Blush

ChippingIn · 30/08/2010 23:45

Yep Grin that's exactly why I said 'in the day'!!

I don't blame you and I don't think that right now is the time to worry about it!!

SgtAngua · 30/08/2010 23:59

That's what I've been telling myself but he's 10 months now & I'm sooo fed up & uncomfortable with the weight.

Plus maternity leave is over, I'm back at work on Wednesday & none of my work clothes fit!

SgtAngua · 31/08/2010 00:03

Not planning any heavy duty dieting but hoping a little support from this thread might help me to step away from the biccies of an evening!

ChippingIn · 31/08/2010 00:09

How do you feel about going back to work?

Who is looking after the little monster man?

It's hard to resist that sugary/comfort food in the middle of the night... maybe you need to hang one of your pre-baby work skirts in the kitchen :)

SgtAngua · 31/08/2010 00:17

DH & I both going part time, we are sharing the childcare. He won't know what's hit him, haha!

At the moment I am thinking "why the hell did I agree to this?" But once I am back it will be fine. I like my job, I work with autistic teenagers.

ChippingIn · 31/08/2010 00:40

He he he - Grin

That's a great solution when you can do it!

That's a great job. You might even work with my cousin :) (as in, he's one of the teenagers).

I was talking to a 14 year old girl yesterday and she wants to go into working with adults with LD's/SN's - she's a very attractive girl (stunning in fact), tall, great shape, huge huge smile and she dances - you really do expect her to say 'be a model/dancer' etc... so it was quite a suprise she wanted to do this :)

SgtAngua · 31/08/2010 00:49

I used to work in mainstream & they asked me to do 1 lesson a week with the local special needs school. It soon became the highlight of my week & I decided to move over to special needs permenantly, I've never regretted it.Grin

SgtAngua · 31/08/2010 00:54

Ended up in the autism base because DS2 is HF autistic & I was so impressed with the massive difference the bases make to the outcome for so many kids.

ChippingIn · 31/08/2010 01:20

Yes the autism base that my cousin uses is great and we really appreciate that it's there for him :)

SgtAngua · 31/08/2010 01:25

Qff to bed now, DS finally asleep.

anyabanya · 31/08/2010 06:12

Can I join too? Hope to lose 1 stone 7 pounds and get rid of this binge-starve cycle.

[she says, having just finished eating leftover chinese food]

cheaphawaiian · 31/08/2010 08:59

Good morning all. I've been lurking on here and on Milk's other thread yesterday, and I just want to offer my support and very best wishes.

I lost a lot of weight with WW a couple of years ago, and my meeting leader was a huge inspiration. She had lost 100 pounds and kept it off. She also did it in 10lb 'chunks' as someone else said, 10lbs makes a difference to how your clothes feel even if people don't notice at once. What she did was to follow the points diet really carefully for 5/6 weeks, then give herself a couple of weeks 'rest', just maintaining that weight before going for the next 10lbs. She said that that way she never felt the pressure of long-term denial which in her case would lead to bingeing.

Looking forward to hearing how you all get on. Good luck.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/08/2010 09:23

Well its Breakfast time! I sturggle with Breakfast i really can't be bothered to cook anything in the morning so i usually ot for Fruit but its not at all filling..

Anyway my children are driving me nuts today luckily me lovely sister is taking them to the park as a trade off for me looking after her 2 children yeaterday.

The my other sister is coming round tonight to watch Shutter Island (great film!) and i have promised her my famous Chilli for dinner, my Chilli isn't to unhealthy with Brown Rice so im not worried about that.

Im not sure what excersise im going to fit intoday it will probably one of the 10 minute workouts i have in dvd, i will try to do 2 during the day. I find them really handy for days when im really busy and there is so mnay in the series.

northernmonkey · 31/08/2010 09:25

Good morning all

Well i weighed myself and i need to loose 7stone 8lb but i'll be happy if i lose less just to take me out of the morbidly obese range and make me healthy to start with.

cheaphawaiian I love that method and i think i'm going to stick with that. Lose 10lb and maintain it for a week or so then start again.
Sounds like a great way of breaking it down.
Right so nows the tome to dig out the WW books.
My plan is to eat 3 good meals and try not to snack on crap.

Think i need to start and use my diet plate and bowl again cause that helps me loads.
Hope all of you are ok this morning

northernmonkey · 31/08/2010 09:53

Just looked into it more and i've decided that my first target is to lose 16Lb (i know that the first 6 will come off quite quickly)and then work from there.
A target of 16Lb sounds so much better that 7stone (got 106Lb all together :( )

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/08/2010 10:35

That is what I'm going for Northern, eating 3 meals a day (not skipping most of them then binging in the evening!)and stop snacking on crap.

I really struggle with a binge/starvation cycle, i can eat a whole family sized Pepperoni Pizza then feel guilty and barley eat for the rest of the week. Not good!

I find it really hard loosing weight i seem to hold onto it like nobody's business but i have to kick the habit of swinging between extremes.
When I'm not actively dieting i eat tons of junk and well everything and when i am dieting i don't eat anything and end up living on about 800 calories a day which makes my body go into starvation mode.

I need to kick it this time! I need to be looking fab for panto... have you seen my past Panto pics on Facebook, i look horrible!

MilkNoSugarPlease · 31/08/2010 10:44

I have a little under 12st to lose!! Which is bloody scary but I can't let it get me down or ill get nowhere!

But at least I'm doing something!

Am at work so will come.back later....have a good.day.all!

I was told once that you should never say you have so and so to lose, because your subsconscious will always look for 'lost' things - so you should say 'give away'... and there's another school of thought that says give it away to a particular place/person/thing etc I think they may have meant starving children etc but I 'give' mine to nasty people (used to be my Ex's EX who was the bain of our life!!) Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/08/2010 11:27

Oh i know a few people who i could 'give' my excess weight to... DP for instance he is underweight and can't put weight on for love nor money... i wonder if her would like a few of my lbs? Grin

ChippingIn · 31/08/2010 11:52

Titsalina mine is much less charitable - I am giving it to the posters on other threads who think it's simple and who want to stigmatise fat people, poster who think it's acceptable to judge people on their weight alone. I will show no mercy Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/08/2010 11:55

Oh its ok i have plenty to go round so those blind sighted, ignorant feckers can have mine to!

elmofan · 31/08/2010 14:11

lol chippingin .

I have 3-4 stones to "give away" can i pass them on too ?.
OK i had a small breakfast cereal with low fat milk (yuk) at 8.30am (never usually eat breakfast ) have not snacked at all(yet) just drank water & am planning on having a turkey & salad sandwich with light brown bread for lunch.
A skinned breast of chicken & steamed veg for dinner tonight .

Went shopping this morning so lots of walking , does that count as exercise ? Grin

ChippingIn · 31/08/2010 14:33

If it wasn't so against mn rulescontentious I would suggest making a list of candidates and voting on who is first on our donation programme - I have a few suggestions Grin

Elmo - absolutely :) All donations welcome, pick your own or tune into my 'vibes'.

Did it get your heart rate up? (other than the prices??) if not, then no, not 'exercise' as such - but still better than sitting on your bum on mn for example (ahem).
