Hi,

I can't find a new starters thread for October 2026 for mounjaro jab. Is there one and if not does anyone want to join this one?

Checking in, second injection for me last night!

RichTeaCheddars · 07/10/2026 10:43

I've just ordered my first pen. Waiting for approval. I'm nervous because I had awful side effects on Wegovy a few years ago and couldn't get past the starting doses. So trying mounjaro this time

Londonnight · 07/10/2026 11:07

Can I join? I did my first MJ injection 27 September, so not quite October, but close enough. I did my second last Sunday. I lost 5lb in my first week which I am happy about. Still a long way to go.

Purpl3panda · 08/10/2026 09:57

Great people can join. Did you have any side effects with your first jab? And how quickly?

So far I have had no side effects at all. Hopefully it will continue this way.

KuduQueen · 08/10/2026 14:40

Another one keen to join. Pen in the fridge ready to start tomorrow but having night out first!

IlovetoKnitandRead · 08/10/2026 16:25

I have just ordered mine and been approved. I tried it for 6 weeks two years ago and gave up too soon when I had some side effects. I have plucked up the courage to start it again and push in through to get the benefits.

Pipsquiggle · 08/10/2026 21:54

Planning to do my first injection tomorrow and I am so nervous

Thiswaythatwayforwardsbackwards · 08/10/2026 23:21

Minimal side effects, I have loose bowels due to another medication so can’t count that & hasn’t got worse, mines mainly feeling a bit sick in the morning and not wanting to eat anything at all. Feel better after I’ve forced something down though! It’s a bit like mild pregnancy morning sickness for me

MoanyMo · 08/10/2026 23:46

Can I join? First pen of Wegovy in the fridge and I’m terrified. I went with Voy and they have prescribed anti sickness and diarrhoea tablets too - which is scary!

My pen has arrived. I have not told my husband yet, but have told a few friends one of whom has used Mounjaro and is now on Wegovy tablets.
I have used Chat GPT to help me plan a protein rich diet suitable for MJ and I went shopping today and stocked up.
Very excited to get started. I am giving myself a 38 week plan for my big holiday next summer.

Pipsquiggle · 09/10/2026 19:18

Was going to do my first injection in the next hour but I have just started my period. Should I postpone for a few days?

Weeellokthen · 09/10/2026 20:36

Can you please tell me where you purchased and the monthly cost?

Purpl3panda · 09/10/2026 21:49

I did my first injection yesterday and it didn't hurt which is good. I am with Simple Online Pharmacy which had a lot of questions before I got it, but good experience so far. Co-pilot does a good comparison of the different providers and costs/benefits.
@Pipsquiggle I have no idea re. effect of periods on Mounjaro and side effects.

I was also pleased how painless the injection was. @Pipsquiggle I used the comparison site monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list to choose my provider but costs seemed to even out really. I have gone with Asda in the end, simply because I could pick up the order there locally for free and didn't need to wait in for a delivery. They have lots of useful information and it was quick and easy to sign up, needing a couple of photographs.

KuduQueen · 10/10/2026 09:41

Apologies it was @Weeellokthen who asked about providers.

Pipsquiggle · 10/10/2026 10:03

Just taken my first jab. Just wanted to check I don't have to put the pen back in the fridge

bungobungobungo · 10/10/2026 10:23

I’m on the September starts but just peeked in here. I’m keeping mine in the fridge.

Thank you so much, appreciate it x

IlovetoKnitandRead · 10/10/2026 13:26

I am keeping mine in my bedside drawer as our bedroom is unheated.
I went with Medexpress again as they already had all my details from 2years ago.
I have had cottage cheese and berries for breakfast, a coffee with whole milk and I have just had a chicken breast with some veggies roasted along side in the air fryer. I didn’t actually finish the chicken, but it could just be my willpower and the positivity that I am feeling at the moment.
Last night I had a really simple supper. I had a pouch of Aldi lentil bolognaise protein grains and a tin of tuna mixed together and it was so tasty. I followed this with a protein pudding and it came in at 550 calories and 65g protein. I shall certainly be having that again on busy nights.

KuduQueen · 10/10/2026 20:04

For my first full day after the injection yesterday I have had high protein yoghurt and fruit for breakfast, bean salad for lunch and quorn mince with wholemeal noodles and veg for supper. Also had a high protein drink as being veggie wanted to ensure I am getting enough protein. 100g of protein a day is quite a lot to achieve!

Spaniels4Eva · 10/10/2026 20:47

Can I join too? I did my 1st jab on Wednesday afternoon, and felt absolutely horrendous yesterday but thankfully just a mild case of nausea today. I'm going through a private GP as I'm type 2 diabetic, and it's costing a small fortune as a result so I'm hoping I see results even if slow.

Londonnight · 11/10/2026 07:00

End of week two for me and I have lost 2lb this week. That is half a stone in two weeks. I am very happy with that. Hoping next week to get into the next stone bracket.
I have been watching what I am eating, and definitely a lot lower calories than I was. I make sure I get enough protein each day. I need to up my drinking.
I have felt very slightly nauseas this past week, but not enough to worry about it. That is the only side effect that I have had. Appetite suppression I don't think has quite kicked in, but getting there.

So jab 3 today of 2.5mg mounjara. I am now at the point for ordering my next lot and think that I will stay on 2.5mg as that is working for me.

Hello Spaniels4Eva I actually joined the September starters thread and I am feeling the same as you with some mild nausea - I'm about to take my 4th jab and have lost around 3kg since I started and I am even having weekends off dieting - although not going mad. I have also been prescribed it - but still have to pay for it - as I am prediabetic with a couple of other health issues. It is slow as I think my weight loss this early is mostly water but I too hope it continues as it is so expensive (even more so here in France!) Good luck and I hope it works well for you.
