Hi,

I can't find a new starters thread for October 2026 for mounjaro jab. Is there one and if not does anyone want to join this one?

OP posts:
IlovetoKnitandRead · 11/10/2026 15:36

Slight nausea after breakfast today and I only fancied a small lunch. Nausea has gone now.
Looking forward to supporting each other here. I have 6 stone to lose.

Spaniels4Eva · 11/10/2026 16:00

I've lost 4 stone myself, but hit a wall with onset of menopause at 56. So I'm hoping to shift another 3 with the Mounjaro. I felt horribly queasy waking up today but don't think I ate enough yesterday. I've had a protein shake for breakfast and two bowls from a huge vat of home made soup that I've prepped for lunches this week.

stillworkingonit · 12/10/2026 10:49

Can I join? I've just ordered, waiting to be approved. I'll be fine for BMI but I have a health condition that I'm expecting them to need to check, I'm hoping it doesn't cause an issue. Spent days on chat gpt finding a way of not getting rejected. Its a random genetic thing that actually isn't a problem, but chat said that lots just use AI filtering which would exclude me.

I'm so nervous. Dieted/failed/dieted/failed etc. for decades. Feel in a great place mentally but physically things are going, and its just an extra 2kg each year and I'm now tipping over the 30 BMI and I am having so many aches and pains linked to carrying weight. Plus genetic diabetes risk. It feels like the right decision to try jabs. My biggest fear is that they won't work at all. And that the side effects mean its not tolerable for me. Because I do just feel that these are my only hope. I can't keep starting diets knowing that at best I'll shift 3kg before putting it all on again.

IlovetoKnitandRead · 12/10/2026 11:41

Welcome and fingers crossed for you @stillworkingonit

I noticed last night that my knees were not as painful. One of the reasons I wanted to try MJ again is the research into osteoarthritis and pain reduction. It is very positive. I am hoping to avoid a knee replacement by reducing my weight significantly and hopefully my inflammation.
I am doing well with protein, but am not hitting my fibre targets, so this morning I added GrapeNuts to my fat free Skyr with blueberries. I am taking psyllium capsules too.

LilyBunch25 · 12/10/2026 11:43

I restarted this month, after coming off last year, hope its OK for me to join 🙂

I find peppermint oil capsules brilliant for the nausea

I'm due to have my 2nd jab tomorrow but I'm still feeling minimal appetite and a bit queasy so I don't know whether to delay by a day. Has anyone else had similar?

IlovetoKnitandRead · 13/10/2026 22:42

I have only felt slightly queasy one day. I can say no to biscuits and cakes that are offered with no hesitation which is shocking for me. I am enjoying my food, keeping protein high and having smaller portions. I am still satisfied with them.
I wouldn’t delay the next jab. I think we are too early in this journey to start tweaking. Could you contact your provider for advice?

Ugh - learned a lesson - it was my friend's birthday yesterday and we went out for an Indian meal - I have been awake most of the night with nausea and acid reflux and nothing helped. It was far to soon after my jab to do that.

I didn't eat much of it but as Mounjaro causes your stomach to empty slowly, what I did eat just laid on my tummy all night.

A very cautious eating day for me today.

Spaniels4Eva · 14/10/2026 09:40

I had salmon for tea last night, just with broccoli and green beans but I don't think my gallbladder was very impressed as it's been fluttering on and off. It's a bit worrying that your body reacts to fat on this jab...given what @Frenchlady14 posted too.

I've emailed the GP I'm under and she said to only change injection days as one offs around holidays/travel if absolutely necessary so I won't mess around and will inject later.

Ooh thanks for the warning as I have my second injection on Friday and an Indian meal out with visiting family that day. Will have to be really careful!

@Frenchlady14 so do you think it was too much, too soon or too spicy? A mixture?
When do you do your injection? Was it something to do with the timing of that and when you ate?

Frenchlady14 · 14/10/2026 13:17

@Pipsquiggle

I have my injection on Sunday afternoon 2.5mg. I am a bit nauseous most mornings but nothing dramatic and a cup of tea helps. But, I find it very difficult to eat much at all on Monday and Tuesday as the suppression is so strong.

It was a bit silly to go to an Indian restaurant last night as I had found eating difficult and it was a big birthday so I had a couple of glasses of wine and then about half a plate of chicken curry, potato and spinach curry, rice and a tiny bit of garlic naan.

Went to bed around 10pm and I think I only got a couple of hours' sleep. Horrible acid reflux even sitting up and feeling quite sick and heavy around my tummy area.

I find it all easier on Fri/Sat as it wears off a bit.

I've lost 3.5kg so far (4th jab last Sunday) and as I have some arthritis in my fingers, I've noticed they are easier and not so painful which is really nice.

I don't know how I feel about it all yet - am pleased to lose the weight but I do find the side effects a bit difficult and it is making me a bit miserable and lethargic - but I am taking it for medical reasons (pre-diabetic and high blood pressure) - so I'll carry on but I am definitely NOT going up to 5mg this weekend!
I'll count for a half dose from my new 5mg pen.

ForensicFlossy · 14/10/2026 13:25

Hi all, did my first jab yesterday afternoon. Completely painless which was great. Felt nauseous this morning but that has passed. Very little appetite today and very thirsty.

labamba007 · 15/10/2026 07:19

Hey can I join? Had the jab 3 days ago. It does seem to suppress appetite somewhat but then I hit the biscuits last night!

labamba007 · 15/10/2026 07:21

Purpl3panda · 08/10/2026 09:57

Great people can join. Did you have any side effects with your first jab? And how quickly?

Edited

Had a headache the first night and felt off but completely fine now!

Londonnight · 15/10/2026 08:12

I have had a rough week. Had my 3rd jab on Sunday and I have felt really nauseas since with really bad stomach cramps.
The first two weeks I had no side effects at all, so wasn't expecting any after the 3rd jab. I am hoping that this passes as at the moment it is making me feel really rough.

I find peppermint oil capsules or peppermint tea really helps with the rough sicky feelings.

Thank you, i'll buy some today to try.
Does this get better, or will I always feel like this on mounjaro?

It should get better- I was on MJ last year, went up to 7.5 over time and with management like plenty of water, peppermint, small meals the nausea subsided for me. I only stopped due to cost and restarted earlier this month. A tea with ginger in is also helpful, just be mindful of ginger levels as ginger depending on amounts also lowers blood sugar, though in a tea should be fine 😊

Spaniels4Eva · 16/10/2026 14:43

I injected on Wednesday afternoon and it's clear that Friday is now my horrible day of feeling sick all day. I've really struggled and just had a yogurt with some melon for lunch. Have ordered some peppermint oil capsules from Amazon this afternoon. Really not enjoying this and questioning if it's worth it.

Pipsquiggle · 17/10/2026 11:39

4 pounds lost in first week which I am pleased about.
Just done my second injection and I think I buggered it up. Some of the medication dribbled out at the end 😞

I also find its the day after the day after I inject I get the nausea but equally have found the peppermint oil capsules really helpful

stillworkingonit · 17/10/2026 14:40

So i did get approved and its now in the fridge. But I've come down with a bad head cold and not sure whether i should wait til I'm better or not. I was intending to start on a Sunday but I would like to start soon. If not Sunday then possibly I would have to go for Thursday this week.

IlovetoKnitandRead · 17/10/2026 16:23

Second jab done yesterday. I had one day where I had slight nausea for an hour or so then since then just mild appetite reduction. I lost 2.5 lbs so am very pleased with that.
