I'm going to have to go back on, but I cant afford it and the health anxiety over the risk of pancreatitis is horrible.

I cannot believe just how fast im gaining weight.

I'm going to be a lifer I think.

I take it you returned to your old eating habits prior to starting MJ? I’ve seen this happen to lots of people on various diets, not just the jabs. It’s got to be a total lifestyle change after losing weight on any diet and your daily intake will probably be a lot less now than it was previously. I think if you restart then you have to have a better plan to maintain otherwise it will happen again, if you can’t afford it I don’t think you can think about being on it long term.

Overtheatlantic · 26/07/2026 14:19

Can you take the tablets?

The food noise is back. I am definitely not eating in as high quantities but I am snacking. Endlessly. And ive lost all motivation for exercise and making healthy meals.

So get back into the healthy meals and exercise, see how it affects your weight, then make a decision about going back on if needed. It sounds like it's harder than you thought it would be, but don't seem to be doing anything to try and sort out your habits

TheChosenTwo · 26/07/2026 14:23

Well if you can’t afford them then you’re not going to be a lifer are you? Unless you can get them through the nhs.
Sorry this has happened, I plan to be on them forever or at least until they’ll stop prescribing them to me. My body hasn’t just fixed the insulin resistance by itself unfortunately so I know I will be staying on them.

MissCooCooMcgoo · 26/07/2026 14:24

I attempted to start couch to 5k as my sciatica pain had disappeared after losing 7st.

I have never been in so much pain as after that first run. I was very dissapointed. Its how I'd planned to maintain, become someone who runs.

How much have you put back on compared to what you originally lost?

Tinahowls · 26/07/2026 14:24

What changes did you make when on it? Better food choices? Exercise?

No, finding that very difficult, it's true.

All went out the window, 3 days after I came off the jabs my mum died suddenly and unexpectedly. I comfort eat.

Lost 7, put back on 2.5

If you go back to snacking the weight will go back
on. To keep weight off after you stop you have to
a) stay committed to exercise
b) stick with healthy eating
c) only eat a mealtimes

Wow. Yes it’s definitely that easy. Why do you think so many people go on WLI in the first place? Astonishing lack of empathy.

HelenDenver · 26/07/2026 14:27

Exercise (being “someone who runs”) was never going to be enough on its own. Especially at the “gentle” level of couch to 5k.

ETA really sorry to hear about your mum

It was like a different world. Effortlessly made better choices. No nagging food brain demanding crap.

I went for walks for hours, for fun!

All stopped.

I think losing it is doable. 2.5 compared to the 7 stone you lost is a big difference but you’d have to start making changes now so you don’t put anymore back on.

Thought I'd be able to do all that, turns out it's not so easy.

I think the death of your mum may have contributed to this as much as if not more than reducing the MJ intake to nothing.

When my mum died it was 6 months until I was able to exercise and manage proper meals again. It sounds like you are nearing the 6 month mark and starting to think about it again. Rather then go straight back on the WLI can you did what you know you have to and see how it goes?

I found food noise reduced as I changed what I ate. For me a high protein low carb diet helps reduce the food noise.

o really have to fight if I break it and eat bread or cake or recognising what is happening has helped me manage it.

I’ll be honest I haven’t used WLI due to cost but know loads of people who have and followed their way of thinking and have managed to lose 1.5 stone without them.

3 days.

I havent left the house for much since the 10th of March.

Do you live alone?

HelenDenver · 26/07/2026 14:40

Be kind to yourself, OP, you might well have been able to do those things had you not lost your mum.

I’m sorry OP, it’s really challenging. What dose did you get up to? Could you get back on it but try to extend doses, stay lower, click count etc? This will help keep costs down and reduce chance of rapid weight loss and thus pancreatitis?

7.5 isn't there a big risk using the medication over 30 days after opening?
