Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

@taratill just checked my notes and I’ve been on 5mg for 3 months (did about 3 weeks prior on 3.75 to increase slowly). Will do the same this time but I guess I’m going to have to power through the hunger pains.
Good that your air quality is improving. So very sad to lose not only your home but your pets too. Devastating doesn’t cover it x

taratill · 14/08/2026 18:18

I'm impressed you're keeping notes @Beehivebabe, I'd have to look back through the thread to see! I've probably been on 5 about 7-8 weeks I reckon.

taratill · 14/08/2026 18:34

So I've looked back at the last thread, took 1st 5mg dose 6 weeks ago. If I don't lose again next week I'll go to 6.75 I think.

Haha not sure why I started notes, but it is handy to check or see progress! I note weight and dose each week 😅

That's brilliant I wish I'd thought to do that!

@taratill I didn’t measure myself tho, and I wish I had! I just have some denim shorts which fall down now when I put them on 😂

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 14/08/2026 20:38

I have a mad spreadsheet of data (doses, weight, BMI, BP, exercise, notes of meals out, possible trigger foods, heatwaves, anything that might affect progress) with updating pie charts. But I really wish I had taken measurements, sniff.

taratill · 16/08/2026 09:51

Morning all!

So impressed with your spreadsheet and pie charts @SmallTreeDeepRoots , I just don't have that kind of brain!

Dose day today and I've definitely been feeling hungrier along with the stall so decided to up to 6mg this week using the monj.co.uk click calculator. I feel that I wan't to get moving again before I start dropping back into bad food habits.

I can't start running yet as there is still smoke in the air, which is a bit frustrating, but obviously not complaining too much as others have been so badly affected by the fires. It's much cooler today but still as dry as a bone. There is a bit of rain forecast this week so fingers crossed.

Plumetti · 16/08/2026 11:23

Here’s a nsv with a difference, not weight, but volume in cubic inches.

A reliable-ish source, my DH, just informed me that I have lost 800 cubic inches equalling around 4.5 building bricks … it took him some time to work out, but he is very impressed by how much my body volume has decreased bless him. 😄

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 16/08/2026 11:28

@taratill Those fires really put things in perspective. Glad you are ok - I really feel for those who have lost so much. Running will still be there in a few weeks - and it will hopefully be cooler by then!

I do love a spreadsheet, but I’ve never been so orderly with weight loss before. MJ is so expensive that I wanted to be really structured and businesslike about it. It has to work and if it doesn’t then I will be whale-like forever. Final chance saloon. It has been good to see the effects of eg alcohol (I seem to put on a kilo a few days later) or bread featuring too heavily (3 slices over 2 days and I stall for a week). Knowing the concrete effects helps me make better choices and this will make reducing mj for maintenance easier I hope. Just knowing what works for me. I am so unreasonably proud of my now normal BP even though I did nothing to achieve it other than inject mj 3 times!

taratill · 16/08/2026 11:48

@SmallTreeDeepRoots it's so horrific. We know families who have been affected. People are now being allowed to return to their homes and are finding out the extent of the damage. There are loads of missing cats from the burnt out properties, it's just so sad. Roads and footpaths are still closed and there is a police presence enforcing it. I can't get to my mum's who lives 2 miles away on the other side of the fire without driving miles out of the way. It will get back to normal but it will take time. The community is really pulling together though which is great.

I might start recording things now, better late than never, I think it will help with moderating in the future.

@Plumetti how on earth has your DH calculated that? Mind boggling!

MoneyJo · 16/08/2026 12:22

@taratill I record stuff on the Shotsy app. I really like it. It also shows me how much MJ is in my system at any moment, which is interesting.

Do you pay for that app? I might investigate it?

MoneyJo · 16/08/2026 13:31

There's a free version but I paid for a year. Not sure exactly what I gained!

I devised an Excel spreadsheet detailing weight lost, jab location, dose and provider.

I'm down from 17st 13lb to 13st 10lb which I'm extremely happy with.

I did the first month on 2.5mg then went up to 5mg which I've been on ever since and hope to remain on for as long as possible as it's obviously working for me.

I still have just over 3st to lose but I'm feeling positive...I can comfortably cross my legs now! 🤣

taratill · 16/08/2026 13:49

I'll have a look at that @MoneyJo , thanks.

@Clemdfandango massive well done on your loss and that is a great nsv. I can now see my feet over my belly and I can easily bend down to tie shoelaces!

ETPhoneHome1 · 16/08/2026 13:55

I use the free Shotsy app and it’s great. Gives a lot of information re medication in system and how much you’ve lost on each dose

taratill · 16/08/2026 14:34

thanks @ETPhoneHome1 , i'll definitely download it.

@Clemdfandango meant to say I LOVE your username!

Plumetti · 16/08/2026 15:19

@taratill heaven knows!

Like @MoneyJo I use shotsy, the free version and it’s been so useful.

Beehivebabe · 16/08/2026 15:21

afternoon all, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

@taratill I’ve done the same, I clicked 50 I think of my 7.5 pen. Fingers crossed it sorts the hunger out a bit!

@SmallTreeDeepRoots I’m impressed with your level of detail! But it’s interesting what you say about bread as I have the same, I stall if I eat too many carbs.

Love all the nsv’s. I can now sit cross legged quite comfortably and the other day I ate from a plate on my lap, instead of on a cushion to the side. Never could do that previously! It’s the small things 😅

Yes I have. I love MB 🤣

taratill · 17/08/2026 14:39

OMG @MoneyJo I've downloaded shotsy and paid the premium and inputted all the data I have through these threads and from notes of weight on different dates.

It's fascinating. I had the best loss overall loss 3.75. I'm not sure why that would be.

Do you record your weight on that every day?

MoneyJo · 17/08/2026 17:15

So glad you like it. It's great, isn't it? I log when there's a change rather than every day. Hoping for a pound down tomorrow to log on Shotsy 😃
