Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

Yes it's really good. I had no idea that the levels go much higher than the dose either. Every day is a school day!

taratill · 18/08/2026 15:56

Right so now I have started to record everything one area I seem to be lacking in is Fibre, I'm reading that to lose weight healthily you should be consuming 30g Fibre a day.

Is anyone actually achieving that? I think I'm achieving 10-12 g per day.

ETPhoneHome1 · 19/08/2026 07:53

Second week of taking 6.25 and the suppression is real!! I’ve really hard to force food in the past couple of days.
Total loss since March is 16.3kg/35.9lbs

I recently commented that I was coming to the end of my weight loss journey, I think once I lose another 2.15kg that will be me done. I am feeling much happier with my body. Even if I don’t get that loss by the end of these pens I won’t be trying hard, just lowering doses back down

MoneyJo · 19/08/2026 07:57

I'm pretty frustrated today. I have kept to calories, kept to (not very high, but consistent) steps, resisted treats. I've not lost a scrap in 8 days despite going up to 7.5 two weeks ago. I really don't want to move up again yet and I know it's just a week but still, it's really irritating when most weeks I lose two pounds.

@taratill I am mostly kind of close rather than bang on target but the breakdown of my daily food does help me take notice and add more of what I need.

I had exactly the same experience when I went up to 7.5 I had about 3 weeks where I stayed the same - admittedly one of those weeks was a week in Spain! but then the week after I lost 2kg in one week so I have stuck with it - that was a lot in one go and I did go up the next week so we'll see what happens this week.
Am not planning on going any higher.

MoneyJo · 19/08/2026 08:50

That's interesting @Annex thanks. I would love not to go higher but I still have over 4 stone to lose so if I have a long plateau at some point then I probably will.

OP posts:
taratill · 19/08/2026 10:47

Oh that's frustrating @MoneyJo. I'm sure it will start to drop again.

This week has been all about the apps!

So I always had in mind starting running when I reached 12 stone, I am now 12 st 1lb so I decided to go for it using the app recommended by @SmallTreeDeepRoots. I actually felt a lot of dread before going, because it's been so long and I could barely walk without heartburn before I started MJ and I was fearful I wouldn't be able to do it. But I could! No heartburn!

The Shotsy app tells me I am just over 1/2 way to target to goal weight, which I have now set at 60kg, which would be a BMI of 22 and it estimates I should be there by mid December. I still can't imagine it could be possible!

Beehivebabe · 19/08/2026 13:09

Hi all, well done to @ETPhoneHome1 within touching distance of the end!
@taratill also well done on starting running, bet that felt good! Mid December will soon be here 🥰
@MoneyJo I feel your pain as my loss for August is around 3lbs, which actually is about right but it’s just rubbish compared to my previous losses but I guess I knew that would happen. And I haven’t stepped up my exercise yet which might help. And I don’t think I’ve been drinking enough water either! Onwards and upwards though!
I took 50 clicks from my 7,5 pen.
today’s weight 15st 7lb so that’s 63lb off which I am holding onto!!

MoneyJo · 19/08/2026 13:37

@taratill was that the none to run app?

I'm ignoring my lack of loss this week and just keeping on keeping on.

OP posts:
taratill · 19/08/2026 13:51

@MoneyJo yes the none to run app. Seems good.

Thanks @Beehivebabe, 63lbs is an amazing loss! I think it's hard because our TDEE reduces with our weight so we can't rely on the same number of calories throughout the process.

Drinking enough water is driving me mad. I do probably have 2-3 ltrs a day but I am constantly on the toilet.

ShebaQueen · 19/08/2026 18:29

Hello all, I've enjoyed reading your updates, although I'm sorry to hear that some have stalled, even after going up a dose, commiserations @MoneyJo and @Annex. I'm sure the scales will start to move again soon. I think it's pretty standard for weight loss to slow down, but it's so frustrating isn't it? I stayed the same this week despite sticking to my healthy eating, loads of water and exercise. I'm still on 5mg and unless my side effects improve, I can't see me going up a dose or even half a dose any time soon, my latest issue on top of nausea and heartburn is irritation around my jab site, not had that before, but it's inflamed and sooo itchy!
@taratill I find fibre a struggle, I am not keen on chia seeds, but I have oats for breakfast, add lentils to lots of meals and I have been eating loads of vegetables, plus raspberries and apples. I'm thinking that in autumn/winter it will be easier with porridge and soups where I can add lentils and beans etc.
Well done @ETPhoneHome1, you're almost there!
@Beehivebabe I am totally in awe of your weight loss, just incredible!

Beehivebabe · 19/08/2026 19:51

@ShebaQueen @taratill thank you both! I was 1lb off 20 stone so I think I’ve lost this much easily. As you say it’s going to get harder from now I bet. More water and more exercise will be my mantra this week!
I sometimes get a bruise around my jab site, or even a red lump but it doesn’t always happen which is weird. I think the only SE I don’t like is still tasting my dinner the next morning. I’m always eating sugar free mints!

taratill · 20/08/2026 09:40

@ShebaQueen in the end I managed 35 grams of fibre yesterday! focused on veg and fruit and discovered that 200g of raspberries has 13g of dietary fibre!

I am going to carry on making it the focus along with protein and see what happens.

@Beehivebabe I get a raised rash at the injection site whenever I raise the dose or don't let the jab come to room temperature first. It's not as bad now as it was to start with thank goodness.

taratill · 20/08/2026 11:13

Another NSV, the builders have come back to do some tidy up work today after not being here for a few weeks and they have commented on my weight loss! I didn't think it is a very male thing to comment on weight in that way, but there you have it.

I didn't fess up to the jabs. I don't want to be the talk of the town, lol!

MoneyJo · 20/08/2026 17:19

I finally dropped another pound today and am now in the 15 stone range for the first time in forever!

OP posts:
Beehivebabe · 20/08/2026 17:43

@MoneyJo great news!
also @taratill how lovely they noticed. Makes your day doesn’t it!
I think my hunger has been better this week with the slight increase in dose. And another 1lb off today, I was probably premature jumping on the scales yesterday. All good tho 😅

taratill · 20/08/2026 18:58

Well done @MoneyJo , hitting the next stone feels so good!

And yes it does make your day to have someone notice @Beehivebabe ! Glad that you've lost a lb too!

So far I've lost 1.5 lb since Sunday's jab day when I increased to 6 from 5mg .

I've been exercising much more and recording everything this week so I don't know if that has also made a difference.

Snoringdogsfarting · 21/08/2026 20:30

Well done on all the loses, and yes it’s nice for people to notice and comment, not that anyone has to me 🎻
I was trying to drop from 5 to 3.75 but it hasn’t worked , my will power is non existent and all I’ve done is stuff my face 😭I’ve had toast and jam, doughnuts - all the usual
crap I lived on before . I can’t do it on my own and that’s a fact. Next jab will be 5 again and I’ll see how that goes. I haven’t dared weigh myself but I feel massive and not at all happy. Honestly I’m going to have to get a 2nd job so I can keep buying pens to keep my greed in check 🤦🏽‍♀️

MoneyJo · 21/08/2026 20:42

That's tough @Snoringdogsfarting
I don't suppose the savings you make when you're on the right dose are enough to offset the cost?

OP posts:
taratill · 22/08/2026 13:51

Afternoon all! Well having smashed the fibre for the last few days I can confirm that constipation is no longer and issue!!!!

Today I have done a run followed by one of the Work Outs with Amy (recommended by @CatsAreBetterThanPeeps). I could NEVER have done the strength workout when I started in March, but I found it great, particularly like the fact that she has different exercises for people who are less fit/ used to weights! So thanks Cats!

I feel very virtuous but I'm meeting my friend in the pub later so I'm sure I'm going to undo all of the hard work, ha ha!

@Snoringdogsfarting that is frustrating. I think it's hard to save money on food @MoneyJo , if anything I now spend more trying to make sure I get all the nutrients I need!

rockstarshoes · 24/08/2026 21:06

I’m really enjoying exercise now & finding rewarding!
I can actually get my arse off the step for tricep dips and am finding the stomach exercises much easier! I had a blip and put a pound on last week - I was really surprised as I had really hit the gym!
Hoping it shows up this week!

taratill · 25/08/2026 08:32

@rockstarshoes I'm the same, I'm exercising every day now.

Do you think the 1lb blip could be water retention?

I'm up again by almost a kilo on last week, I think it could be water/ retention and period related.

It's very frustrating though.

I'm also not feeling the suppression as I think the exercise is making me hungrier.

rockstarshoes · 25/08/2026 20:53

@taratill I think it can be water retention, I think your muscles hold on to water when they are repairing. That’s what I read somewhere anyway but it’s great feeling stronger!

One downside for me is that I noticed my hair is feeling thinner! Now I have thick hair so it’s not noticeable to anyone else but I can feel it when I wash it.
I mentioned it to my hairdresser when I was there last week and she said she could see what I meant but August was peak shedding month for everyone’s hair - who knew! 🤣 and there is new growth coming through too.
Anyone else having this issue? Makes me feel like I need to knuckle down & shift this last stone so I can drop my dose. I was fine with it taking all year if I needed to but this is making me panic.

Beehivebabe · 25/08/2026 22:25

Evening all, I’ve had a bad few days belly wise. Had friends over Saturday night and they requested my lasagne and for some reason I had a really hungry Saturday. Ate loads I don’t touch anymore. Have really paid for it with upset stomach and feeling sick, eggy burps the lot.
Was wondering if it was the slight increase In dose but I think it’s more likely to be Saturdays diet. I will keep to a higher dose this Saturday and see what happens. If it is that I will have to reduce back to 5 because the last few days have been awful. On the plus side I have lost a couple more pounds so today I’m 15st 4lb. Every cloud 😅

@rockstarshoes I have very fine hair and I think it’s got finer, trying to ignore it lol. I also wonder if you and @taratill have gained or stayed the same as you’ve increased muscle mass with all your exercise. Which might be no bad thing. Far better to get exercise in.

ShebaQueen · 26/08/2026 08:53

Poor you @Beehivebabe, hope you start to feel better soon. I must admit that I would love to taste some of your famous lasagne!
@rockstarshoes I am really worried about hair loss too. Mine is very fine and I have noticed lots in my brush and when I wash it lots comes out. I didn't know about the August shedding, that has made me feel a little bit better. My hairdresser said that hair loss is due to weight loss rather than the drug itself and he said that's one of the reasons why there is so much emphasis on protein and not losing too quickly. I asked if supplements would help, he said there's no scientific evidence that they would stop hair falling out, might help with regrowth though. Like you, I do seem to have regrowth thankfully, but it's a bit scary.
