Hi all, hope you’re doing well.

some musings from my holiday. I’m on day 9 and haven’t jabbed for almost 2 weeks. I would say the first 7 days were pretty good food wise. I enjoyed a bit of everything but my plates were well balanced and much smaller portions that before.

the last few days my appetite has certainly increased but I’m still making pretty good choices and the food noise still isn’t really there as it has been when I have had all inclusive holidays in the past! I am glad I didn’t jab and it’s definitely been interesting to see how things have progressed as the MJ has reduced in my system. Will see what the ‘damage’ is on Tuesday morning!

Good to hear you are enjoying your holiday and I agree , you need to be able to eat and enjoy your food . It’s great though that the big food noise has stayed at bay for you . Less stress . Don’t worry about any weight gain . It will be gone ( if there is any ) ins. Couple of weeks . Mine has now fully gone and am done a further pound after being away at the beginning of August . It’s all good . We deserve a holiday !

I weighed in a day early and after last weeks 0.3kg gain, I have dropped 1.5kg. There is no rhyme nor reason, but I am under 12 stone for the first time in a great many years, which is a very good and happy thing to celebrate.

anyone else with good losses? I love seeing peoples updates on here

ByNiftyPombear · 01/09/2026 22:00

Hi all. Haven’t been on here for a long time. I was convinced the summer holidays (less exercise, eating out more, birthdays and holidays/mini breaks) would sabotage my efforts so found it all a bit tricky to navigate. Have had to move around jab days to work around plans, and only exercising when I can, so didn’t think I’d be much of a contributor.

However, I have continued to lose weight on 2.5mg and am now in a healthy BMI range. I have been calorie counting on days when it’s easy to do so, which has at least made me accountable and conscious of what I am consuming. But I’ve also allowed myself the flexibility to not record everything, which has helped me to see how this can work long term without becoming all consuming. I’ve also been a little more selfish with my time, and have continued to factor in workouts approx twice a week - previously I would never have done this when the children were home, so this is a big step for me.

For those interested:
SW 12st 7.5 lbs (BMI 29.2)
CW 10st 8.2 (BMI 24.6)
GW: unsure. Toning and building muscle is my motivation which may result in weight fluctuations, but until I have the proper time to commit to this, I will hope for a continued slow and steady loss so my weight sits more comfortably within the healthy BMI category.
Total loss 1st 13.3 lbs in 17.5 weeks (dropping a clothes size)

TeamsThemeTune · 03/09/2026 17:54

Helloooo! I'm back from holiday, and I'm actually 3lbs down, so finally reached the 28lbs / 2 stone off mark after 16 weeks (well 15 + 5 days).

I took 3.3mg before I went away, and missed the next dose, and can honestly say it made no difference. I had a terrible cold for the first few days and my sense of taste disappeared (maybe COVID?) My appetite for food and booze was non-existent. Had to force myself to eat something in the morning and evening, and skipped lunch altogether, which I normally do on holiday anyway. Constipated for a few days too as I don't think I was drinking enough - it gave me a new appreciation for good old British tap water and Robinson's lemon squash.

So, jab due tomorrow and I'm wondering whether to stick with 3.3mg, or go back down to 2.5 to see if my appetite comes back. Might leave it an extra day to see if I feel any different.

Went out today and bought new jeans for the first time in years. Is H&M sizing random or something? I'm wearing an old pair of Monsoon trousers in a size 10 yet I couldn't get the first jeans I tried in a size 14 anywhere near close to doing up, although the same size in a different colour were fine.

madeinthe80z · 03/09/2026 19:23

@TeamsThemeTunei think H&M sizes are weeeeird, don’t sweat it! Well done on a loss in holiday!! I wish I had the same!

I came home Monday, weighed in Tuesday at +6.5lb!!!

I tried not to panic and this morning am 3lb off that so hopefully I’m shedding the water weight. I’d be ok if it ends up being about a 2lb gain as that seems about right for my level of indulgence to be fair.

Another thing I decided to do was split dose this week instead of doing 5mg because I had skipped a week and was scared of side effects. I REGRET IT!! I need my 5mg! The food noise has been baaad today and my appetite pretty high. I am very comfortable around 1400kcals a day on 5mg but I’m struggling to feel full at 1600 on the 2.5mg so I’d suggest if you’ve only missed a week and don’t have a history of being overly sensitive, go straight back to your original dose!

@ByNiftyPombearwell done on your progress! I think you might be the first of us to reach the ‘healthy BMI range’ 🥳🥳

I'm going to moan! I've been on this since may and, despite counting everything, drinking lots of water and increasing exercise, I've only lost 13lbs. Saying that, I love reading about all your successes and seeing you all doing so well, although it's a little disheartening. I'm not sure what's going (or not going) on.
Ive gone up to 1mg this week and took my jab on Tuesday. So far the suppression is nil - I can't stay out of the fridge! Has anyone else experienced this when going up a dose where it takes a few days to feel the suppression? I don't remember this being the case with previous dose increases. I'm just feeling as though im doing all the right things, and spending all this money, but nothings happening. I've been the same weight for 3 weeks - fed up now! Cheer me up girls!

madeinthe80z · 03/09/2026 20:18

Aw that sounds so frustrating @MrsO2b what dose are you on at the moment?

Ah so I guess you’re on wegovy? Is this the 3rd dose up?
13lb is still a great loss and more than likely a loss you won’t have had if you weren’t taking it! You sound like you’re doing all the right things and staying consistent so hopefully this next dose will give you a boost and get you a well earned loss next week 🤞🤞

I am definitely going to join you in coming back up. I’m hoping only single figures but I feel like I just keep having horrific amounts of calories. So if it’s only like half a stone then most or all will be digestive system contents and retained water…any more than that and it will take more than a couple of days for me to shed.

I’ve done 25 miles in 5 days in Florida heat though so hoping that balances out 500 calories a day to prevent a gain.

What is your total loss and start/goal? Have you had some weeks better than others? Anything in particular you are finding is working?

NettleTea · 06/09/2026 10:46

well that is a surprise. had a few days where I went over my target calories, including yesterday where I went to a one day a week open bakery and bought a slab of fresh foccacia for breakfast and a huge cinnamon bun for lunch, and I still have had a 0.5kg drop today. Im now at 75.6kg which is a loss of 18.6 kg in 19 weeks on 2.5mg
I have my annual meeting / check up/ measurement lymphodema clinic tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if there is a noticable improvement from when he saw me in April, as it was that meeting which kickstarted this journey and helped me make the decision.
Ironically my lower legs, where the lymph issue is, are very well managed and they were the only bit of me that looked a normal size. I was a bit like a potato on matchsticks

madeinthe80z · 08/09/2026 08:54

Hi all!

One week post holiday update!

so day before I went on holiday I weighed in at 164.5lb
day after I got back I weighed 171lb so a scary 6.5lb gain 😭
but today after one week, I have weighed in at 166lb so have shifted 5lb of that holiday ‘gain’ in a week. I am really really hoping to lose the 1.5lb plus a bit extra this week too 🤞I genuinely think more than anything the key is to drink as much water as possible to shift the water weight and bloat!

and a quick update on how I found the split dosing. I did 2.5mg on Tuesday and 2.5mg on Friday instead of a full 5mg and definitely felt better supression after the 2nd jab, because it’s building up in my system again. What I would say is that the hunger was suppressed fairly well (especially after the 2nd jab) but the food noise not so much. So I will go back to weekly 5mg’s but I will definitely think about doing split dosing again in the future perhaps when I’m feeling like I need to go up again.

how is everyone doing this week? X

Has anyone tried getting rid of their sharps and if so, how easy/hard was it? Before starting mounjaro, I already had a sharps bin from when I had IVF years ago and never got rid of. That bin is full and my council website isn't clear I terms of collection.

Did anyone's supplier take their full bins back or is it always the council that does?

I’ve read that some pharmacies will take them for you but haven’t looked into it. Although we do have a full one now as well!

Re sharps - I have read online about how difficult it is for people to dispose of them. My council says you have to fill in a form for special collection, and leave it outside your house on the boundary on collection day, which seems mad to me. Not only will all of your neighbours be able to see it but anyone walking past could mess about with it. Some people on Reddit have suggested pharmacies that do needle exchanges, or local drug and alcohol services.

Week 17 weigh-in today - down another 1.05kg/ 2.3lbs, so now I'm just 4lbs away from the nines. Total loss of 13.8kg / 30.42lbs. I jabbed 3.3mg last week and have gone up to 3.5mg this week.

Need to reorder - was looking at New Health for my next pen, has anyone used them yet?

Nope but do a quick search on here for that name because I remember reading a thread about a dodgy one that sounded like them the other week!

I’ve ordered from medicine marketplace, lotus, bolt and more recently Pharmacy2u and all were easy and good just make sure to cancel the Bolt subscription so you don’t get charged the next month!

Bleurgh…I don’t know if I’m going to be half a stone up or a full stone…I’m still on holiday, I feel like it’s impossible here to make any healthy choices unlike when I was in Tenerife.

I have either changed shape tonnes, or I’m fatter, or just bloated, or maybe thinner when I get back and get rid of the extra digestive contents…I actually do not know.

But I did get some new bras from Victoria’s Secret, and just to let you know her secret is literally that boobs can look AWFUL out of a bra, but put one in hers and she will make them look phenomenal 🤷‍♀️ so there has been a win I guess.

Anyway, I’m back on Friday morning, I’m just praying the 80 plus miles I’ll have walked in Florida sun is going to be enough to make up for the massive amount of calories that have entered through my face hole

Seriously don’t worry. I put on 6.5lb and it went in a week. Back to pre holiday weight. I just drank loads of water and jabbed as soon as I got back.
I have genuinely seen this as a positive too because I do remember coming back from holidays in the past where I had slogged my butt off prior to the holiday and restricted so much to get some weight off that once I’d indulged over my holiday, I never really got back on to the the wagon, but the thing with MJ is that it has literally enabled me to pick up right back where I left off with no emotional turmoil!

Im another small drop this week - 0.6kg but it has brought me to a milestone of 3 stone lost on 2.5mgs, which is incredible. It also means I am well over the halfway point. It seems amazing to believe that I have achieved this much. I can remember a time, many years ago, when I swore I would never go over 12 stone, but of course the illness and the stress and the subsequent inflammation put shot to that statement.
I still have the illness, and I certainly still have the stress, and I still dont sleep well, but just turning off that inflammation has shown just how significant it was in my body storing fat due to how lymphodema interacts- because I am not really eating hugely differently to before, although now I probably have breakfast every day.
