Yes, please. I’d be interested to hear about split dosing or anyone dosing more frequently than 7 days. I ended up chickening out of a higher dose as this week would not be great for side effects. So I took 2.5mg out of my first 5mg pen. I feel fine. And about as quiet on food noise as it’s been in recent times. I’m thinking more frequent doses of 2.5 might be a kinder way to take 5mg rather than one massive blast of 5mg. But don’t know much about that approach.

As someone weeks ago said- 2.5mg to 5mg is the only time following a 'regular' dosing you actually double the dose. With my first 2.5mg pen, the golden dose was 3.8mg and I had dreadful side effects (D&V and awful stomach pains).

When I bought a 5mg pen I did 3mg, 3mg, 4mg then to 5mg. Doing this I personally had no awful symptoms at all. Yes, some constipation, but that was more related to me not drinking enough water/chia seeds etc.

Weird question, and you don;t have to answer, but have you had a poo @PuppyKeep?

For anyone with trouble in this area, I can recommend Nutrition Geeks 3 in 1 Magnesium supplements - they keep things moving for me.

Talking of supplements, what's everyone taking? I'm practically rattling with vit D3 +K2, iron + vit c + b12, magnesium and now Omega 3 fish oils in an attempt to solve my horrible dry and crepey skin. But then I discovered that the Omega 3 needs to be taken with food as it's fat soluble, the iron + B12 + vit c should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach every other day and at least 1 hour before tea/coffee/dairy, the magnesium before bed... I've got reminders going off on my watch what seems like every few hours and it's doing my head in.

Split dosing- you’ll need extra pen tips… where do you get those from?

I bought the closest tips to the ones my first provider sent me, so bought these '32g 4mm BD Micro-Fine Ultra Pen Needles Penta Point'.

I also bought a packet of alcohol wipes Universal Alcotip Pre Injection Swabs 70% Alcohol Wipes and* some 1ml needles for any golden doses/excess in the pen FMS Micro Syringe 32G 8mm 1ml. *

My next order was with lotus, and they sent me a whole packet of alcohol swabs and another sharps box too so something to keep in mind.

I have terrible constipation again, I think its the hot weather, and Sunday I had a long day where I didnt drink enough and was driving for about 8 hours. And a stressful event.
I have hemeroids anyway and had a rectocel prolapse, so it can be tough if I get bunged up. And sorry tmi but twice today the straining has caused the loo to be full of blood and not much else. I finally managed to go a bit a few mins ago, but Im out in the woods for the next two days so dont want to risk taking anything that could make things too much the other way. Im hoping that keeping my water up, and the kiwi I had for breakfast, will sort things out, but Im feeling a bit sorry for myself. I put my back out this morning too, which Im unsure if its connected.

sorry to come on and moan

I hope that sorts itself out. It’s awful when you need to go but you know it is going to bleed and be uncomfortable.

So sorry to hear your plight, Nettles. I can relate to some of this from my post partum years.

It won’t work quickly, but to keep the poos smooth over the longer run, consuming 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and another tablespoon of linseeds (all soaked overnight in a mug of water) are my daily ritual. The slimy outer from the soaking gives poos a Teflon coating which means they slip out without offending delicate colon walls. (Although when very dehydrated, even this doesn’t necessarily work.)

Btw, are you hypermobile? I recently found out that hypermobile folk like me are not just overly stretchy in joints, but also in the tissues lining gut and stomach. Which explains why things don’t move through as efficiently as desired and indeed also explains the lack of feeling full when eating large volumes of food (ie goes some way to explaining why I more easily became overweight than someone without hypermobility).

I took some Movicol sachets and now I'm back to normal. I think the issue was that I was taking codeine for a few days for a trapped nerve, and combined with the MJ, I slowed right down! Hopefully Friday's weigh-in is a much better result now. 😀

I'm ravenous today and have been ravenous since Monday 😢

I injected 3.75 on Thursday. Hunger should not have kicked in on Monday!

PuppyKeep · 05/08/2026 12:26

In other news, I'm now officially 'just' overweight! wooooo

So is anyone else having a sore mouth and tongue. I feel like I’m at the end of my rope with it. I am probably dehydrated, but I have no idea whether it is that or a random side effect. I’ve had it for a couple of months now and it hurts

We all are a bit hypermobile in this family, but not in the right joints to count for anything resembling a diagnosis. My hips often feel like they have dislocated slightly when I sit and then stand to walk, and my sons fingers are superbendy. my mum can still put her hands flat on the ground by bending over and she is 82

Yeah - codeine is a bugger for that. I was taking it for a cracked rib last year - trying to force out a reluctant poo in those circumstances was pure agony.

I was taking paramol which has dihydracodein in it, so am back just on plain paracetamol and ibruprofen

Forgot to do my weekly check in…down 2.4 this week.

realised I’m not drinking enough though so increased that today (to around double) and now I’m heavier than last night so likely gain tomorrow and have low week ahead because I’ll be putting more fluids in to balance my body a bit.

43.6 lost so far though

Wow, that's amazing! How many dress sizes down?

PuppyKeep · 06/08/2026 12:58

Feeling anxious about weigh in tomorrow. I lost zero last week. Hopefully that was just the constipation - I've never had zero loss on MJ.

This week I've been very strict - but also unusually ravenous. It's been a white knuckle ride.

I've started split dosing: 2.5 on Thursday. 2.5 on Sunday. Send thoughts and prayers!

Boreded · 06/08/2026 13:33

No idea…I’ve been wearing the same clothes throughout as I wear pj bottoms and hoodies in the house, and jeans and one of three floaty tops when I go out. They are extremely loose now though.

I suspect I should have been wearing a 24 and now I’m on a 20

Trousers I’m wearing a 15 (love half sizes at next) as I’ve always been weirdly shaped so thin on the bottom despite being this weight
