How was it going from 2.5mg to 3.75mg @mollio?

It was ok - but also sick for a day or so . Nothing that I couldn’t manage. Like I still played tennis / padel and was able to work etc . I just found it hard to eat . I made sure to drink lots and kept some digestives to hand

KittensAndCupcakes · 02/08/2026 17:20

@mollio thanks for all that helpful info. I’m going to take the plunge and do 3.75 this evening as I have found myself ‘scavenging around in cupboards’ in recent days (love that phrase!)

Do you do the thing where you just open the fridge and look inside…I think when I start doing that again it will be time for me to move up.

Of course I do that! Cupboards more than fridge though. Main help from MJ has been opening cupboard and thinking there’s nothing appealing in there although the stuff in there is no different to what was in there before…

Fortunately that stopped with the jabs, but if that comes back I’ll be having to go up a dose

KittyMcKitty · 03/08/2026 08:14

had the first 5mg jab on Sat. Thumping headache yesterday and some nausea but otherwise not too bad.

Fingers crossed headache clears soon - I seem to remember it was like this when I first started.

Trying to prioritise protein but am struggling with lunch. I’m a teacher and generally eat leftovers from dinner for lunch as it’s easy but think these may be a bit carb heavy and as it’s the holidays I want to try and up my protein but am getting mighty fed up with chicken and hard boiled egg salads! What’s anyone else doing?

Oh yes I had a headache at the beginning of each new dose too ! I just took painkillers and electrolytes in a big bottle as sometimes I done drink enough water !
I am a teacher too - have been off since the beginning of June as am in Ireland . Had great plans to have salads all summer , but I haven been able to stomach making them !! I have had mostly boiled eggs and brown bread or a meat dish with a spoonful of rice . Could be worse I suppose !

Everyone is doing so well!

I am now in my 11th week and have lost 11kg, so a steady loss of 1kg / 2.2lb per week.

SW: 96KG
CW: 85KG

Nearly at the halfway mark!

Good woman , and yes I look in the fridge and. Cupboard like a teenager and say “ I don’t like anything here “ or “ There’s nothing to eat in this house “ 😅

Big day today - I am no longer obese 🎉

NettleTea · 03/08/2026 09:16

I had another low loss again this week. only 200gm. but as long as its not a gain I am counting it as a win.

PuppyKeep · 03/08/2026 11:48

Question for those that have jumped to 5mg, does the suppression last longer than 5 days per jab?

So far for me, yes. It wears off somewhat in the last 2 days but not as much as it did on 2.5mg. I think that over time it might happen again, and that’s when I’d consider split dosing and then ultimately moving up a dose again

so far Im not experiencing the food cravings at all, and am on 2.5mg still. But then I dont know that I did, as would often go far too long without eating in a day and then eat all the wrong things because it was 6pm and I hadnt eaten since 8am, or at all. My eating was more disorganised. And because I did eat wrong stuff, it then made me crave more wrong stuff.

Having to try to make myself at least have breakfast is quite a big step. even though today I didnt manage it as had run oput of yoghurt.

Do you like / can you tolerate vegetarian proteins? I’m slightly obsessed with Quorn bites at the moment, but generally cycle through tofu (very healthy) and Quorn (processed, but high in protein). Also edamame beans have loads. You can get frozen or dried ones. Totally different textures, but both would add interest and loads of protein to a salad. There are also some dried fava beans from Honest Bean Company which are a great way to put protein, crunch, salt and yumminess into a salad. Other types of dried chickpea / bean snacks exist, but they are harder to chew.

Also non veggie proteins… tuna and mackerel. Cheese is actually ok too for protein.

I eat a lot of salmon, tinned tuna, mackerel, sardines and prawns. (I don't eat meat at all.) Plus Quorn products which are probably actually UPFs, but the little cocktail sausages are delightful!

Spendy though, and I never get anywhere near my supposed protein target.

Split dosing! Tell me more. How do you do it and what days?

Yes, please. I’d be interested to hear about split dosing or anyone dosing more frequently than 7 days. I ended up chickening out of a higher dose as this week would not be great for side effects. So I took 2.5mg out of my first 5mg pen. I feel fine. And about as quiet on food noise as it’s been in recent times. I’m thinking more frequent doses of 2.5 might be a kinder way to take 5mg rather than one massive blast of 5mg. But don’t know much about that approach.

PuppyKeep · 03/08/2026 19:30

Basically a lot of people do 2 doses a week instead of once per week as it helps with that plunge where you get hungry again after 5 days. So for example they will jab on a Friday and a Monday, ie if you’re on 5mg, you could do 2.5mg each time.
Theres a really good video on YouTube that I watched on it last week, I’ll see if I can link it. (It’s American so you have to get through all of that but the key points are there 🤣)

this is a doctor talking about dosing - very very interesting about how the medication builds up over time etc…

And this is someone talking about her experience of split dosing - start at 3:45 mins (you’re welcome!)
