My carb issues started at the same age as my periods. Found out years later that I had PCOS that was a eureka moment.

NettleTea · 30/07/2026 23:10

Ive been out for dinner tonight and had a mini desert - an Eton mess, my god it seemed SO sweet, really sickly. My calories have probably been shot through today but its a one off, visiting relatives from the USA are here. Ive had a really dry mouth all day, even though Ive drunk loads of water, so I dont know what that is about.

I get an awful dry mouth, sometimes it is sore and my throat can be too. I thought maybe it was some kind of reaction to the meds rather than something the meds are doing.

I am very disappointed in my weight loss this week. I’ve lost 0 pounds.

Also I’m constipated. I hadn’t had a poo in days (I’d usually have them daily).

Oh dear, constipation is the pits, I sympathise. Get a couple of kiwis in you, have a strong coffee and loads of water and go for a walk.

Weigh-in after you've erm... solved that problem - I guarantee you will have a loss.

TeamsThemeTune · 31/07/2026 11:26

And in today's farce, I've just swabbed, primed and then jabbed myself without twisting the bloody counter round!

It took my brain far too long to realise what I'd done. Then I panicked and just started twisting it while holding the needle in me - why I didn't just take it out and do it properly I don't know. 🙄

Also forgot to weigh this morning so will have to do that tomorrow. I'm clearly not firing on all cylinders today.

Need the laugh emoji back for this one…just had visions of you twisting and it spinning around whilst still stuck in you too

KittyMcKitty · 31/07/2026 16:26

@TeamsThemeTune I’m sorry but that really made me laugh - it’s the sort of thing that I can see myself doing!

Well done to everyone for getting this far. Those of you disappointed with your losses I’m sure next week will be better.

I’ve done 8 weeks on 2.5 and lost 1.5 stone which I’m thrilled with (especially as the last few weeks have meant work travel etc). Just 4lbs to go until I’m not over weight. I’d like to lose another stone (well I’d really like to lose 1.5 stone but I’m not sure how sustainable that will be) and have opted to move up to the 5mg pen. Tomorrow is jab day and I’m really anxious about it. I had some minor symptoms the first couple of weeks on 2.5 - some nausea and dizziness mainly and some exhaustion (although don’t know if that was the jabs or just madly busy work). For those of you who’ve moved up to 5mg how have you found it?

I didn’t go straight to 5mg, I did 45 clicks and took 3.75mg instead, but the suppression wasn’t really noticeably different - but it definitely was when I took my first 5mg! I found it’s built up week on week as well. Currently in week 3 of 5mg and it’s been my best week yet appetite and food noise wise. However I would say the constipation is real! I’ve had a tiny bit of nausea (I’ve always been able to manage mine with rennie) and I’ve definitely had some exhaustion which seems to hit like clockwork around 5pm every day. Like reeeaaallllly tired dizzy kind of feeling which seems to last about an hour then I perk up again. Not sure if it’s a blood sugar crash but I do remember a similar feeling when I first started on 2.5mg.

Thanks. I was bouncing around my house today lol. I’m still super fat, but I’m 3 stone lighter and moving in the right direction. Now I need another 8lbs by my holiday (30th August - but actually need it by 28th as going out for a 40th and then to hotel early the next day)

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 31/07/2026 18:28

@TeamsThemeTune Sorry but that was very funny and totally the sort of thing I would do.

@Boreded well done!!!

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 31/07/2026 18:29

I have lost about 0.5 kilo in 2 weeks so not great. I have to be more active i think in spite of the heat and reduced calories I need to find a way to move!

I am now IN THE TENS!!!! Yes, I weigh 10st 12.8lbs

And look at my BMI

I've started keeping a poo diary because I was loosing track of when I'd last been. I also used to go daily pre- mounjaro but now it could be days which makes be feel awful. I start feeling bloated and 'full' so I'm trying to be pro-active before I get to the that point.

-Plenty of water
-Chia and pumpkin seeds with my morning yoghurt. Kiwi too
-Use a squatty potty or anything to lift your feet up
-If things aren't moving, I use a sachet of movicol. It adds fluid to the bowel and isn't a stimulating type laxative that can become addictive
-If all else has fails, I have a packet of glycerine suppositories in the bathroom

I’ve gained some of what I lost last week so I think after three months on 2.5, this is the set point it takes me to without me needing to do anything other than eat when I am hungry. Which is what I did before MJ, it’s just that I was hungry more often for larger quantities. So tonight I make first contact with the 5mg pen. I definitely want to ease myself in. Maybe just start on 2.5 and then go up over the coming weeks? Or maybe 3.75mg this evening? Yes, actually, going to try out 3.75. Hoping no messy side effects! Reassure me please those of you who have already made the leap…

KittyMcKitty · 01/08/2026 19:43

I moved from 2.5 to 5 today (this morning) after 2 months on 2.5 - keeping my fingers crossed for no side effects

TeamsThemeTune · 01/08/2026 20:05

Two Kitties moving up! Good luck - let us know how you get on. 🐱🐱

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 01/08/2026 20:23

Im reaching my point of upping the 2.5mg dose after 7 weeks. Next time I'll be ordering a 5mg pen but I'll be going up steadily...

Good luck guys

Well honestly I was sick as a dog for a few days but then ok again . I have taken my 5th dose of 5mg this evening and it’s tolerable . I found with the 2.5 the hunger and scavenging around in kitchen cupboards came back too quickly by day 5 at least . I want to push through and lose the weight and then look at maintaining . However I think I will stay at 5mg for the foreseeable as it is working well . Big suppression but still able to exercise and function . Weight going down steadily by at least 1 lb a week sometimes more

mollio · 01/08/2026 23:15

Oh and I did a month of 3.75 before I moved to 5
