Have you all told your GP that you are on weightloss drugs? I'm with Voy and I haven't yet, I know I should but I think I'm a bit embarrassed, will they care?

snowgirl1 · 15/10/2026 13:50

@OneJabBeyond I'm with MedExpress and they've notified my GP. I can see the information my GP has on the NHS app - you could have a look on the NHS app and see if Voy have done the same, then at least you don't have to tell your GP and they have the info. I've got to contact my GP about something else and I'm a bit embarrassed that they know I'm on Wegovy, but I don't really know why I feel embarrassed - it's good for my health to be a healthier weight.

Pamelaaaaarrr · 15/10/2026 20:50

Yes MedExpress notified mine. I think it's useful for them to know.

In other news, I've just done dose 4 from my first 2.5mg pen which has taken me down 9lbs.

I'm now exactly where I want to be, but just ordered a 5mg pen to keep in the fridge because I doubt if I would be eligible again. I'm going to do the 5th dose from my pen in about 10 days and then stop.

5mg pen is my back up in case I struggle in the next few months - I still only plan to do 2.5mg as it works really well for me but it was only £10 more expensive to get 5mg and I can squeeze a few extra doses out.

WLIcurious · 15/10/2026 23:35

I’m 6 doses in (2.5mg mj) and don’t know what to do. I’ve lost about 4kg, which is about all I wanted.
The food noise really quietened down at first and I had little interest in food which was amazing and I really enjoyed the novelty. I’ve been able to eat the same portions and types of foods as before and have had minimal side effects.
Now, it almost feels like I’m not taking anything, I’m thinking about food a lot more and like i could snack if I wanted but am making a decision not to.

I don’t know whether to carry on with 2.5mg to the end of this pen - another 3 weeks -and see if this will be how maintenance is, or try going up to 5mg to shut the food noise up again.

WLIcurious · 15/10/2026 23:43

Should have added, I was going to get a 5mg pen next and click count for 2.5mg doses.

Iwanttorunagain · 19/10/2026 12:00

I’ve just completed my 4th jab yesterday. Weighed today and total lost is 2.5kg. Most of that was in the first week, but I’m pretty happy.

i still haven’t had any side effects, and nothing major on appetite suppression. But it had really made me watch what I eat and avoid snacking / too much drinking, which has definitely been a big part of my weight gain in the last couple of years.

I’ve just reordered another 2.5 from MedExpress at full price, but they’ve given me a £50 price match discount to use for next month (might move to 5mg at that point). They’re not the cheapest, but I didn’t like to faff with providing scale videos to a new provider.

How long are you all staying on this for? I’m think 4-6 months, but will see.

Offredismysister · 19/10/2026 13:00

I’m due my 3rd dose of the 0.5mg wegovy today & am dehydrated & constipated. I just can’t seem to stomach water or many fluids & I drank 2.5l a day easily before this. I was so fatigued yesterday, I was like a zombie. My weight hasn’t changed at all either, I feel & look slimmer but the scale hasn’t moved. I’m going to force myself to drink more, sip some prune juice to & finish the course.

Wonderones · 19/10/2026 14:41

Get some movicol offred and take some senna.
I was like you a month ago and ended up with impaction - it was dreadful, I wish I had acted sooner.

Offredismysister · 19/10/2026 16:34

I had some dulcolax syrup last night & that’s helped. I was ok at the start of the week then from Friday onwards I was not 😬 I think I will get some movicol.

Wonderones · 19/10/2026 17:07

My GP has put me on a sachet of movicol a day , which has been a godsend. You might feel more thirsty if you can solve the constipation more. Good luck.

LovelyLapin · 19/10/2026 23:12

Two kiwis, Magnesium Glycinate 3-in-1 from Nutrition Geeks and 1000mg of vitamin C per day is helping me. Good luck! 💩💩

OnTheTop · 20/10/2026 09:43

Daily chia pudding made with Greek yogurt is keeping me regular.

AxisofEvelKnievel · 21/10/2026 20:18

Weighed today on my PT’s good mechanical scales, and I’m now 70.4 kg, which is a loss of 1.4 kg since my last weigh just before leaving for the US (October 6th, 71.8 kg). I am absolutely astonished I kept losing weight, especially given I missed a shot due to being away. The second week still had a small amount of suppression (although week one in the US was completely normal wrt suppression—I ate modestly & drank very little).

Still on 2.5 mg & staying on that dose for the foreseeable.

[Also all my conference clothes including my bespoke evening dress at the reception fitted beautifully—massive NSV.]

AnotherPidgey · 22/10/2026 06:41

Back in August I missed a week while on holiday and felt some appetite creep back, but definitely ate less than usual and didn't have the usual holiday gains, and that was on the lowest dose while still settling in.

Generally I maintain my weight most of the year and there's a slow creep from times like Christmas and holidays that I can't seem to lose naturally any more that was accumulating over the years.

I am wondering if it's now viable to use a GLP1 temporarily to offset those gains now there's Wegovy tablets out.

My progress this week is being masked by hormonal bloating, but between the Wegovy and HRT, I haven't had 10 days of sugar craving to compensate for prolonged low energy which massively helps. I'm hoping for this reason that the HRT will help with maintainence too.

DrLeoSpaceman · 22/10/2026 22:40

Hi, joining you all 👋 I'm in the process of hopefully getting approved by voy. I need to do a video call of me stepping on scales, also standing near a standard-sized door, presumably so they can check I'm not 8ft tall ?!! So my OH is going to distract our DDs tomorrow so I can do this without a million questions from them about what I'm doing.

Absolutely desperate to shift this weight and start feeling good about myself again. Really hope they approve me.

Welcome @DrLeoSpaceman how did your call go?

OnTheTop · Yesterday 13:32

Hi all. I’m still continuing to microdose for maintenance. My BMI is about 22.7

The change in the weather has really affected me this week and I am absolutely fucking freezing 😩. Anyone else struggling??

Welcome @DrLeoSpaceman how did your call go?

Thanks. It went well thanks, and I've been approved 🎉 can't wait to start.

AxisofEvelKnievel · Yesterday 14:26

@DrLeoSpaceman if your experience is anything like mine, Mounjaro genuinely helps you to eat less so you don't have to rely on exercise to do all the heavy lifting. Perimenopause was my warning that I could no longer outrun/outlift a bad diet. Admittedly, my diet wasn't bad—I don't eat junk food. I simply ate too much, often in the form of too-big portions that were a hangover from my athletic youth.

DrLeoSpaceman · Yesterday 15:26

What time of day do you all inject? Does it make a difference at all?

StylesSluttyShorts · Yesterday 16:33

I do first thing in the morning, I've never tried any other time but started with this as I wanted a full day to assess any effects.
I'd have hated to wake up in the night with stomachs cramps or needing to vom, for example.

AxisofEvelKnievel · Yesterday 17:38

After a modest amount of experimentation, I’ve settled on Saturday mornings, usually 10-11 am. I’ve learnt through experience to avoid days where I have a lot of work to do, or am going to the gym. One side effect I’ve only noticed in the last fortnight is that—on jab day—I often feel cold. I’d prefer to avoid that in combination with a trip up to the City, or getting rained on walking to my local gym.

I also like to leave Fridays clear for a moderately fancy meal (I often do a roast), & a couple of glasses of wine. Mounjaro has cut my drinking enormously (another aspect of the weight loss), so much so that I now only have one or two beers/wines on one or maybe two nights of the week. I just don’t fancy it otherwise.

How did you settle on a maintenance dose and what effects are you getting from it?

OnTheTop · Yesterday 19:11

@WLIcuriousI lost all my weight (12% of body weight) staying on the lowest dose of Wegovy. Since the end of July, I’ve been click counting to take half of that lowest dose.

The benefits I get are reduced inflammation, less perimenopausal symptoms, reduced joint pain alongside taking the edge off my usual appetite/food noise.

It’s working really well for me. I’ve never been this weight as an adult and it’s been extremely easy to maintain so far.

WLIcurious · Yesterday 21:42

Thanks @OnTheTop.
I’d like to go onto a maintenance dose but after about 6/7 weeks on 2.5mg MJ I’m not getting anywhere near the same reduction in food noise and I can’t really afford the cost of maintaining on a higher dose. Perhaps I should try wegovy.
