@Pamelaaaaarrrthats reassuring they took you back, did you need to fudge your figures at all? Or were you just able to say it was for maintenance?

No, I didn’t fudge my figures and didn't get any opportunity to say it was for maintenance which was why I was so surprised they just approved it.

kljdslhs877 · 25/09/2026 10:15

@Pamelaaaaarrr thanks that’s really reassuring!

WLIcurious · 25/09/2026 10:55

Hi, I'm new here and haven't RTFT so apologise if I am repeating a question.

I am trying WLIs to stop food noise and the urge to snack, rather than to lose a lot of weight and I can see this as a long term thing if it works. I've been on 2.5mg MJ for coming up to 4 weeks and have just received a second pen.

I am really struggling with not eating enough as either I don't feel hungry at all or I feel hungry but don't feel bothered enough to go and get something to eat. I don't know if I should reduce the dose or carry on with the 2.5mg to see if things settle down next month. If I do reduce the dose, what should I try and how long should I give it to see if it is right?

Pamelaaaaarrr · 25/09/2026 10:56

What about spacing it out and trying a dose every 10 days instead of 7?

I hadn't thought of that, thanks!

I should have had a dose yesterday but feel like my appetite is supressed enough at the moment, so didn't take it.

How does it work with re-ordering if I space doses out?

Proteinpudding · 25/09/2026 11:12

@WLIcurious for many people mounjaro is a sledgehammer to appetite, and that's more likely if you aren't someone who struggles a lot with over eating naturally. I'm not sure it's realistic to use it just to stop snacking, many people who post on these boards talk about struggling to eat 1000 calories a day, that's why it's so popular for weight loss, because it's so effective.

If you do want to use weight loss drugs you might want to try a less effective one like mounjaro or foundayo. Most people do still experience weight loss on them though.

kljdslhs877 · 25/09/2026 12:08

@WLIcurious I started it for similar reasons, I generally eat quite well otherwise. The suppression was too strong for me a bit at the start. As has been suggested you can space the dose, or you could click count to reduce the dose. I found I settled on it and got to a good balance of reducing food noise and losing weight steadily. The main thing I have to be careful of is ensuring I eat a balanced meal, it can be very easy to go for a snack for lunch or dinner, which obviously won’t be nutritionally balanced overall (in terms of not taking in enough).

WLIcurious · 25/09/2026 12:27

@Proteinpudding I do struggle with overeating, but have been able to mostly keep my weight in check because of the struggling. I have been amazed and really pleased that the mj has taken away the food noise and the struggle but has done it too well. Like everyone, I didn't know how I would respond and mj seems to be the one that is better at reducing food noise which is why I chose it. Perhaps I will try wegovy at some point.

@kljdslhs877 did the supression ease off without you changing dose?

For the first couple of weeks I found the appetite supression had definitely reduced after about 4 or 5 days but this week it has carried on all week.

kljdslhs877 · 25/09/2026 12:30

@WLIcurious I strongly suspect our hormones impact it. It hasn’t been a linear process for me, some weeks the suppression was strong, sometimes it was non existent, I could alternate week on week. The key thing has been my weight has steadily declined, I only weigh every 2 weeks or so as it fluctuates. I’ve mostly stayed on 2.5mg with the occasional bump to 3.75. I’ve been on it 9 months now, I haven’t messed with dosage much.

WLIcurious · 25/09/2026 13:25

@kljdslhs877 I hadn't thought about the impact of hormones!
I got the impression that the effects lessened which is why everyone seems to increase the dose but maybe that isn't necessarily the case.

Early days for me so I guess I will have to be patient and see what happens.

kljdslhs877 · 25/09/2026 13:41

@WLIcurious I think it’s very different for everyone. For many 2.5 does nothing and they need to build it up. Others can do all their weight loss on it, most are probably in the middle.

I think the key is to stay as low as you can for as long as you can while it’s working, the less your body is reliant on it the better I guess. But I think being a lower BMI it should be expected to only need a lower dose really, I know my appetite doesn’t need suppressing greatly, I wasn’t hugely over eating as my BMI attested to.

I’d like to join as my MedExpress Mounjaro should be delivered today. Feeling nervous about starting / side effects as with anyone else who takes the plunge. I’m starting at 68kg (at 5ft 3) and need to get back to the 60kg mark which I was before I had to stop running due to injury.

I will probably need to go on HRT at some point too but am conscious I don’t want to overload my body with both - has anyone else here done that?

I’m on HRT at the same time, no issues.

AxisofEvelKnievel · 25/09/2026 15:24

73.3 kg down from 74.1 kg last week so 2.5 mg of Mounjaro is still very much doing the business for me. That weight looks high I know but I am just a smidge under 6’ (182 cm). I used to be six feet but since peri started I have lost some height.

For the new joiners on this thread, my first jab was 29th August—I signed up with Voy because my BMI was only 25.1 but if you are six feet tall and over 80kg you start to look like an MMA fighter gone to seed (well I do, because I have a martial arts background). Also, nothing fits (it’s already hard to buy clothes at this height without also having to deal with a big bum).

I’d probably lost a couple of kilos on my own—very slowly—before MJ just with exercise/gym but I have learnt due to peri that I must also eat less. Exercise alone is not enough.

I’ve been on HRT for years.

I very occasionally get a few light spots which usually follow a day when I can’t eat enough carbs but the other day I got some spotting without the massive urge to carb load, don’t know if it was the mj or something else.

@StylesSluttyShorts I know what you mean, I'm only 5ft 2. I don't think my face changes much but the weight does show up quickly. I guess on the plus side I was able to get WLI as it doesn't take much extra weight to tip me from a normal BMI to an overweight one!

@OnTheTop I've done strength training for a long time too, I thought I'd packed on enough muscle over the years that I'd have abs at this weight, I guess Im not as jacked as I thought I was 😂I am quite pleased that I've not lost any size off my upper arms though, so they're just starting to get a little bit of definition with good lighting straight after a workout

Ooh it’s a great feeling seeIng that pump isn’t it 💪
My biceps are looking good but my triceps are rubbish and I’ve got a bit of loose skin there now 🙁. Not sure there’s much I can do about that but will keep trying to build as much muscle as possible.

Welcome to the new posters 😁

Just looking for some advice. I’m coming the end of my 3 month subscription with voy. My BMI is now 25.1 after losing 10lbs. I’m pleased but now stuck deciding if I should continue or see if I can maintain without. Also voy is so expensive but I don’t think any of the other pharmacies will prescribe for me.
any advice on how to go forward?

You're very similar to me. I started on Wegovy in June at 67kg and 5'2". I had been 63-64kg for a good while, but went on holiday shortly after Christmas while having particularly lousy PMT and felt too bleurgh to move all week, piled on a couple of kg that then refused to shift and finally picked up a running injury. I'm now gently down at 62kg (currently on the menstrual hump) and feeling much more comfortable already. Despite being injured, when I'm doing my rehab runs, I'm already feeling much less strain with being lighter. 5kg doesn't sound epic, but I'd notice it if I tried running with a weighted vest on!

I've started HRT in the last month too. Goodness it's made the world so much more pleasant and cheery Grin The Wegovy was reducing luteal phase cravings but that extra baseline of hormones has really eased the fatigue and desire for sweetness this month.

I've generally been in enough balance to maintain my weight, but was just finding it increasingly harder to eat low enough to counter temporary gains from things like holidays, and increasingly having monthly disruption of wanting to eat through hormonal low energy. If HRT can manage the hormonal triggers, that improves my odds of maintaining Wegovy-free...

They absolutely will. I started with Voy and moved to SwiftDr with a BMI of around 23 I think it was. They don’t ask what your start weight was, they just want a photo of your prescription.

I’d go for another three months & perhaps count clicks (I will have to do this in due course). Fellow Voy person here who also started on BMI 25.1btw.

They are very good but expensive. IMO six months is probably enough for people like us who only had a couple of stone to lose.

Have a look on monj.co.uk to compare prices. You can filter for providers that are maintenance friendly that will prescribe for BMI less than 27, and you’ll find lots that are cheaper than Voy.
I am under 25BMI and had to send a photo of the last prescription label and do a full length selfie video saying my name and the date with Farmeci.

I buy a 5mg pen every 8 weeks which is £164 (with a £5 discount) but I eke it out over 2 months as I only inject 2.5mg, so it’s c £85 a month.

Thanks that’s good to know, without proof of a second condition medexpress turned me down so that made me wary
