I’d go for another three months & perhaps count clicks (I will have to do this in due course). Fellow Voy person here who also started on BMI 25.1btw.

They are very good but expensive. IMO six months is probably enough for people like us who only had a couple of stone to lose.

Edited

Thank you, I’m on the wegovy tablets and have stayed on the lowest dose with no problems in counting calories. Only an occasional day of cravings and consistent slow weight loss. I was reluctant to go to a higher dose and then struggle to come off it

Have a look on monj.co.uk to compare prices. You can filter for providers that are maintenance friendly that will prescribe for BMI less than 27, and you’ll find lots that are cheaper than Voy.
I am under 25BMI and had to send a photo of the last prescription label and do a full length selfie video saying my name and the date with Farmeci.

Thanks that’s really helpful :)

@Proteinpudding I do struggle with overeating, but have been able to mostly keep my weight in check because of the struggling. I have been amazed and really pleased that the mj has taken away the food noise and the struggle but has done it too well. Like everyone, I didn't know how I would respond and mj seems to be the one that is better at reducing food noise which is why I chose it. Perhaps I will try wegovy at some point.

@kljdslhs877 did the supression ease off without you changing dose?

For the first couple of weeks I found the appetite supression had definitely reduced after about 4 or 5 days but this week it has carried on all week.

Usually people go up a dose because they don't have a strong reaction to it, and it's advised that they need to go up gradually rather than starting at a high dose, due to side effects. There can be an element of adjusting to the effect, eg by feeling full and eating anyway, but I don't think it 'wears off' over time for many. The drug actually builds in your system week by week, so if anything it's more likely to feel stronger over time, not weaker.

You're very similar to me. I started on Wegovy in June at 67kg and 5'2". I had been 63-64kg for a good while, but went on holiday shortly after Christmas while having particularly lousy PMT and felt too bleurgh to move all week, piled on a couple of kg that then refused to shift and finally picked up a running injury. I'm now gently down at 62kg (currently on the menstrual hump) and feeling much more comfortable already. Despite being injured, when I'm doing my rehab runs, I'm already feeling much less strain with being lighter. 5kg doesn't sound epic, but I'd notice it if I tried running with a weighted vest on!

I've started HRT in the last month too. Goodness it's made the world so much more pleasant and cheery Grin The Wegovy was reducing luteal phase cravings but that extra baseline of hormones has really eased the fatigue and desire for sweetness this month.

I've generally been in enough balance to maintain my weight, but was just finding it increasingly harder to eat low enough to counter temporary gains from things like holidays, and increasingly having monthly disruption of wanting to eat through hormonal low energy. If HRT can manage the hormonal triggers, that improves my odds of maintaining Wegovy-free...

That’s great to hear! I’m starting the jabs Sunday morning, but I guess I’d like to give them a go for a month or two before adding in HRT so I can separate any side effects.

Offredismysister · 26/09/2026 15:29

I paused while going away for 2werks. Came back to a 1.5kg gain. So will restart next week. Have 0.25mg x 1 dose left & have just ordered the 0.5mg. I’m 74kg & goal was 69kg but I think I need to be more like 67kg for my height.

What are people doing about clothes? I’ve lost nearly 2 stone since January which is about 20% of my starting body weight! It’s taken a long time for my clothes to get baggy because tbh I’ve always squeezed myself into smaller sizes partly out of denial and partly because I do prefer a tighter fit. But it’s getting to the point where I look a bit silly now, things not fitting, somewhat defeating the point of all this!

I went to Tesco today and got a couple of size 8 jeans (still quite loose!) I need to go properly shopping trying things on and have a wardrobe overhaul but am scared to spend the money in case this is temporary, it’s hard to imagine this is long term. Have you started shopping?

RubyTraybake · 26/09/2026 16:59

I don’t know what to do about clothes either! I’ve been enjoying my clothes being loose after them being tight for so long but some of them are unwearable and I do like a bit silly in some things. But I’ve never maintained weight loss before.

Pamelaaaaarrr · 26/09/2026 17:15

I’m 48 hours into first dose and not noticing any effects yet, a little less hungry I guess as I’ve not eaten today. Out for dinner now so will see if it’s kicked in yet I guess!

Remember it builds in your system, so you might not notice a huge difference in the first couple of weeks, that doesn’t mean you need to jump up doses.

Proteinpudding · 26/09/2026 17:44

@kljdslhs877 wow 20% is a lot, especially if you were starting from a relatively low BMI.

I've lost around a stone and I'm wearing the same clothes I've had for years - honestly looking back I'm a little embarrassed that I continued to wear them while I was clearly growing out of them. There are a few things that I still had that I'd stopped wearing that i've enjoyed putting on again. I'm also going to be a bit wary of the likelihood of keeping the weight off - I think if I do buy new things they'll be inexpensive or vinted for a while, just in case.

Yeah, this is second time around for me, and I remember 24 hours in feeling a lot of suppression. I don’t actually intend to go higher than 2.5mg this time. I only want to lose half a stone and then will probably stay on for a little while to maintain.

I’m definitely not as hungry - or more, I’m feeling it but don’t care as much.

The bogging taste in my mouth though 🤮

kljdslhs877 · 26/09/2026 17:50

@Proteinpuddingjust doubled checked and it’s 18% but hoping to get to 20% (just 3lb shirt) 150lb to 120lb (BMI 25 to around 20). I know exactly what you mean, I don’t miss that horrible feeling of freshly washed jeans digging into my stomach! I forgot that’s not necessary 🤣

kljdslhs877 · 26/09/2026 17:54

@Pamelaaaaarrr sorry didn’t mean to teach you to suck eggs! Oh you have a funny taste? I’ve not noticed that.

OnTheTop · 26/09/2026 20:01

I’ve lost 18lb and I’m still in the same clothes as before! They definitely fit very differently though 😳.

I was a bit sad over the summer that a few favourite skirts were too big. I think I’ll see about getting them taken in next summer if I’ve managed to maintain 🤞🏻

Hahaha no worries!! It’s been a while. Yes it’s a really metallic taste 🤮

AnotherPidgey · 26/09/2026 22:04

My clothes were getting snug in my original size so I'm just getting more comfortable again rather than the squished sausage feeling.

I'm begining to get a bit of waist slippage, but I have to buy for my thighs and bum anyway, so if things go a bit too lose, I'm probably better getting some waist clips to synch them in.

Pamelaaaaarrr · 27/09/2026 07:32

Well I had a couple of glasses of wine and some beige food like cauliflower wings, halloumi etc and all was fine until a few hours later when I felt so sick 🤢 honestly thought I was going to throw up everywhere, couldn’t even face taking my normal medication before bed.

Feel back to normal today but I think I’ll be avoiding wine and greasy foods for a while!

AxisofEvelKnievel · 27/09/2026 11:13

Benefits of engineers in the house: partner reverse engineered the Eli Lilly injection pen so that I could use the “golden dose” everyone talks about. It was a full dose, not more & not less. Empty pen has now been disposed of (inside the 30 days as per instructions), and I’ve got my usual sensation of “gosh, that’s a lot of fluid”.

Feeling slightly smug that I’ve saved myself quite a bit of money on what looked like a significant initial outlay (£150.00 for a standard four shot pen).

WLIcurious · 27/09/2026 12:26

@AxisofEvelKnievel I was wondering about all the liquid left in my pen after 4 doses. Can’t you just wind it out in the normal way to use this last bit?

Thread 2 - BMI under 27 - Off Label/less to lose
AxisofEvelKnievel · 27/09/2026 12:35

@WLIcurious You can, but you need very strong fingertips as there is a mechanism inside designed to stop you getting what in my case was an extra full dose. Many people break that and then break the plunger itself trying to twist it out until it reaches “1” as with the previous four.

My partner worked out how the “holding” mechanism worked & then broke it and not the plunger, which meant the pen worked completely normally, as with the previous four doses.

WLIcurious · 27/09/2026 12:46

Any chance you’d share how to do it?
🙏

kljdslhs877 · 27/09/2026 12:56

I don’t think there are many pens with golden doses these days? Certainly stopped in 5mg pens. I managed to just extend a couple using my teeth to break the mechanism, but just buying disposable syringes is probably the easiest way.

WLIcurious · 27/09/2026 13:36

I’ve just had a look at a couple of YouTube videos and it looks like you just have to force the plunger to wind out. Will give it a go next week!

Previously in the old pens I just syringed it out, can you still do that? As I still have needles left.

@Pamelaaaaarrr yeah absolutely
