That sounds sensible! Well done for getting to 9 stone, that’s where I want to be. I agree about trying to be on the lowest dose required (for cost, health and longevity) and my appetite is now very suppressed on 0.25mg after 4 jabs, I’m just disappointed with a 4lb loss after a month so was just debating going to 0.5mg to speed it up. I have done ‘no sugar’ spells in recent years and can lose a stone in a month that way when I’m very strict and eat healthily, so 4lbs seems a bit rubbish….but at least it hasn’t taken any willpower I suppose. I’ll keep going on 0.25mg for now and see if it improves…

@kljdslhs877how long did it take you to lose 24lbs out of interest?

It’s taken a while, I started end of January. I’ve been sat around 9st for a few weeks now, but as you say it’s the complete lack of effort that’s made this worthwhile, I’ve lost weight much faster myself, and I’m sure I could have lost it A LOT faster if I’ve actually dieted alongside MJ, but as far as I’m concerned the reason I am paying for WLI is so I don’t have to think about it or diet. But I do want to focus on a more rounded diet next, I’m not eating enough currently.

kljdslhs877 · 24/08/2026 08:41

Finally saw 8 stone on the scales today 🥳🥳 (8 stone 13.5lb 🤣) so BMI is 20.9. I’m pretty much done now so need to reduce to maintenance, but I accidentally left my pen out for 24 hours last week (a 5mg pen I was going to do 2.5 from for 8 weeks) I’m tempted to stay on 3.75 a little longer to get through the pen quicker as the efficacy of my last pen I took out the fridge and used after a month was definitely impacted.

Ordered myself a beautiful KitchenAid mixer to get back into baking to reduce our processed foods.

AmIReallyTheGrownup · 24/08/2026 09:40

It’s been 6.5 weeks since my first Mounjaro jab and I am, to date, losing 0.5kg a week very steadily. It’s not as fast as others - there’s people on the July starters thread who have lost over well a stone - but I’m happy with that. I haven’t moved up from 2.5mg and don’t really plan to.

I’m honestly flabbergasted it’s working to be honest. I’m still eating mindfully and working out, but it keeps the worst of my excesses in check so I’m doing a much better job of staying in a deficit, particularly as I jab on Friday night before the weekend.

AmIReallyTheGrownup · 24/08/2026 09:43

@kljdslhs877 I love that idea of getting a Kitchenaid! Well done on reaching your goal.

I have broken my weight loss into three milestones, but I haven’t worked out what I’ll treat myself with for my first milestone which hopefully I’ll hit in about 3 weeks.

My first is BMI25, my second is the weight before I got pregnant, and my third is the weight I was before we started IVF.

socks1107 · 24/08/2026 12:58

Ordered my second lot of tablets yesterday, all is going well. I’ve lost 4lbs a the first month which leaves 2lbs to goal. I intend to stay there until after Xmas as I have three holidays, birthdays etc. so hoping this month I’ll hit goal and reassess after Xmas

AnotherPidgey · 25/08/2026 07:23

On a slight plateau, but I think that's a combination of a cluster of significant dates/ social activity and the return of that biologically hoarding luteal phase.

I've got one more dose of 0.25 (wegovy) then my next pen is 0.5 just in time for back to school routines which at least have less access to food to pick at. Less impulse picking has made a difference to me.

I'm loitering at 0.75-1kg off in a month, bearing in mind that there was a missed dose and holiday in the middle. Without Wegovy, I would have gained especially as my activity levels are down compared to normal.

I tried to ride my bike last night to accompany DS on a run, and despite being a flat area so no resistance up hill, my injury was flaring after 2km.

Hi all

Started on Wegovy WLI on Sat & looking forward to my first weigh-in next weekend. I've done Fast 800 in the past, and this feels similar in how the appetite deminishes but MUCH quicker! And nice to be able to have a little bit of carbs.

Love all the advice and success stories on this thread - so inspiring!

Metal taste in the mouth from day 1 has eased off & no other side effects.Yet. Fingers x'd!

Current BMI is 24.7, looking to lose about 6kg to get down to 22.5 or so over the next 3 months. Bit ambitious, but ooooh it would be so very nice... 😄

Welcome! You can easily do that in 3 months I reckon 😁

Offredismysister · 26/08/2026 09:08

I’ve weighed in & have lost just under 2kg in 3 weeks. I need to lose another 3kg to be at my goal weight but have a holiday coming up so not sure whether to order the higher dose & just start it when I get back.

Hi all, sorry I'm sure this has been covered before.. I am interested in using a higher dose pen and splitting it over 8 weeks, but what about the 30 day expiry once opened? Are you just being extra cautious with hygiene/refrigeration and hoping to minimise risk? Or am I missing something?

I'm on wegovy and found official recommendations that pen could be used for max 8 weeks so long as it's stored in the fridge. I can't remember where, but it was enough to reassure me.

I'm very careful with hygiene, clean hands, use alcohol wipes on my skin and wipe pen after use, new needles each time obviously!

WhatMaggieDidNext · 26/08/2026 11:29

Second jab today and I’m 6lb down! Happy with that 😁
Is anyone else having particularly odd dreams as a side effect?

Frazerr · 26/08/2026 17:20

@WhatMaggieDidNext
Yes, I’m having vivid dreams like i did in pregnancy. Weirdly either action or horror based 😂. The only other side effect is hot flashes now and again.

rainydogday · 26/08/2026 20:40

Hi, I have been lurking. I am on week 7 and have lost a stone on the lowest dose, don’t intend to move up. I have about another half stone to go to them give a bit of wiggle room should it creep back on a bit. I have found it fine, no side effects and have loved eating lots of fresh food. I was the Guineapig as my husband is now on it and has a lot more to loose but was worried. I was a bit overweight perimenopause etc. I feel so much better in general. I have been reading all the stories about it all piling back on. I did the 3 month plan. Not sure whether to get one more single pen and give a smaller dose of the lowest dose for a month or 6 weeks to wean off? I exercise and eat well but have a love of tea and biscuits (well I did). Also wine. I haven’t bought a single bottle in 7 weeks. I have had the odd glass if out but haven’t really fancied it. I am hoping that my mindset will have changed and it won’t all pile back on. What do you have planned if you have only been on it a short while?

Butterfly007 · 26/08/2026 20:49

It is tricky isn’t it, working out what to do for maintenance. I just hit my goal weight but would like to go a bit lower as a buffer. I started on 2.5 of mounjaro for 3 weeks and I lost weight so quickly that I was worried about muscle loss and was feeling very fatigued in workouts. So I click counted 2mg where I’ve stayed for another month or so. This has been amazing as I’ve slowly continued to drift down about a pound or two a week but incorporating numerous events and holidays where I would normally put on weight. Soon I’ll need to work out what to do next, either start going longer between jabs or perhaps try 1.5mg. Feels like it will require a bit of experimenting.

Beachforever · 26/08/2026 21:05

@rainydogday I was on MJ for 3 months, never went higher than 2mg and tapered down. I tried to microdose for maintenance but kept losing weight so I ended up going cold turkey.

I haven’t had an injection for over 4 weeks now and I’ve not put any weight on. That said, I’ve never had “food noise” or struggled with eating healthily. I wasn’t gaining weight before I went on WLI’s, I put on an extra stone a few years ago that I couldn’t shift. So now I’ve gone back to eating and drinking the same as I was before WLI’s and I’m maintaining my weight loss without any issues.

Thanks. That’s really reassuring! I think I also worry a little about winter/Christmas etc as i always tend to be a bit bigger then than summer. Probably due to being out and about more. I will go and look up the click counting thing.

I used one pen for six months. No issues apart from the efficacy of the medication lessened in the last few weeks. Check the liquid is still clear and the pen in date. Wash hands, wipe red stopper before and after use. Wipe injection site. I also used syringes to prevent back wash of bodily fluid into the pen.

I wish it were that simple for me. I’ve been in maintenance for well over a year. I was gradually tapering down and got to 1.5 every ten days then the weight for no particular reason started creeping back on. I had to up the medication to maintain. Unexpected but thank goodness for mj otherwise this would have been yet another failed diet.

Proteinpudding · 27/08/2026 21:31

Well it's been an interesting week for me so far. I took my second dose of wegovy at 0.5 on Sunday. Supression hit me like a brick on Tuesday, and every day since. Which was unexpected, and a little bit awkward as I'm on a city break with friends and food is a central part! It's not that I'm upset about missing out, more that it's been tricky as everyone else needs to eat so I can't really skip meals, and we're pretty much sightseeing and hunting out interesting places to eat and drink every day.
So far I've managed to find Lebanese, Brazilian, Ethiopian and Carribbean food, which have all been a variant of meat + veg/salad and rice, so I've been able to eat some of the meat and veg and ditch the rest. Hoping it's not too noticeable that I've not been interested in desserts or snacks.
When I started wegovy I was disinterested in food but the feeling of fullness I've had this week is another level. I suspect the food I'm eating is too rich to lose weight but I'm hoping I can have this for another few weeks as I'd definitely be able to get the last few kgs off. I've averaged 20k+ steps a day too so hopefully that'll mitigate any damage this week!
I haven't had any chocolate since Sunday either, and that's unheard of for me!

Sunshine1500 · 28/08/2026 22:15

Hi , is anyone on here taking Reta for a small amount of weight loss?

Marmite71 · 29/08/2026 08:21

This thread has been so useful for me, thanks all. I’m on my second week of 0.25 Wegovy pen and so far have lost 8lb - although this a lot of this will be water it’s pretty amazing as I’ve been trying for years to shift this with little success. It’s a bit quicker than I’d like though as I really wanted to go slow and steady with minimum dose (about 1.5 stone to lose). The first week I felt sick for a couple of days then was ok but this week the nausea has lingered all week. I am thinking of stretching out the doses or click-counting to reduce dose a bit. Now I’m wondering about switching to the Wegovy tablets next month next month- Voy are pushing me to go for 9mg but I think I’d be better off on 4mg because I’d rather have slower weight loss and feel more normal- has anyone made the switch, and what was it like?

OnTheTop · 30/08/2026 14:48

Not much to add from me. Week 20 and I’m continuing with maintenance and my micro dose of 0.13mg Wegovy.

Saw an old friend this weekend who was really complimentary about how I’m looking, which was lovely. Literally no one else has commented! I never comment on anyone’s weight myself so I shouldn’t be surprised.

But it does make a small part of my brain wonder if it’s not noticeable. It’s amazing that I can lose 12% of my body weight and it not really be that obvious. Does anyone else relate?

However, I’ve done this totally for myself, I can see/feel the difference and am really pleased, so that’s all that matters.

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend.

Being quite small and tending to gain/ lose my weight between my naval and knees, people don't tend to notice my size change, and my threshold for feeling smaller/ bigger is quite a small range. I doubt anyone would really have believed that I'd slowly drifted firmly into an "overweight" range.

I'm not expecting anyone to notice my weightloss.

This week I'm feeling ready to move on to the 0.5mg pen. The last dose of 0.25 hasn't cut through the hormonal hunger much this week. It has taken the edge off compared to my normal, but less than last month, and I haven't lost (although may see a difference in a few days...)

OnTheTop · 30/08/2026 20:08

I got a reminder to order another pen today through MediExpress and they asked for a video consultation, which I haven’t had since I was first approved in April.

After going through all my details the doctor explained she didn’t feel I had a clinical need so wouldn’t be approving the prescription. So that’s the end of my WLI journey I think.

I feel ok about it as I’ve been really pleased with my loss and how straightforward it’s been. I’d have preferred to have continued to have the safety net of the jab but I understand where she was coming from. I’ll miss the anti-inflammatory impact though.

I’ve got 1 and 1/2 pens left so will use up the pen I’ve started and then try to maintain on my own, with the unopened pen as a back up.
