So I’ve decided to stay off the WLI now. It’s been 2 weeks since my last injection and it had been 2 weeks between the one before that. I’m the same weight now as I was 4 weeks ago which is 4kg less than my original target. According to Shotsy I have very little left in my system now and so I’m easily managing to maintain my new weight and I wouldn’t mind if I put on a kilo or 2.

It is lovely being able to eat again without feeling uncomfortably full after a few mouthfuls!

So it’s definitely time for me to stop for good. I hope you all continue to get great results without any horrible SEs x

Can someone talk to me about pens/fridges? I currently have my pen in the fridge but am away next week and would like to take it. Can I keep it out and then put it back in the fridge when I’m back home? Or no? X

OnTheTop · 17/08/2026 14:24

Best of luck @Beachforever😊

Glad to hear it's worked well for you @Beachforever !

@thepittfan the pen should be in the fridge when it's unopened, because that is to keep the expiry date (which is usually quite far away) Once it's been opened, it's advised to use within a month regardless of where you store it, fridge or at room temp (as long as it's under 30 degrees) Once my pen is in use I keep mine in the bathroom.
I believe a lot of people keep MJ in the fridge mainly because they're microdosing from a larger pen and because MJ in particular risks losing efficacy as the drug itself can be a bit unstable. I don't know if there is actual evidence that it's more likely to remain effective if it's been kept in the fridge throughout, though given the cost I understand why people would want to do whatever they can to ensure it still works.

Thank you so much! This is helpful. It’s unopened and will stay in the fridge until then so this is useful. I’ll be using the usual dose so will be within a month!

That’s amazing, congrats. May I ask your ending BMI? Just grappling with the maintenance bit now. I’d also like to to a little below my target to give me some buffer.

Sure. It’s 19 now. I was aiming for 20 but I couldn’t figure out maintenance. Over the past 2 months I’ve realised that if I jab even a very small amount, I can’t eat and continue to lose weight. I have no more weight to lose without becoming very unhealthy. I should have stopped as soon as I hit my target weight back in June in retrospect as I respond a little too well to MJ!

Thanks very helpful. This is exactly where I am right now, I’ve just overshot 20. Perhaps I should take the learning from you and stop now! Great it worked out so well for you.

Just updating, I've probably name changed several times.

Started wegovy mid April with voy and have stuck to 0.5mg from month 2, with swift doctor now, they seem fine with me ordering every 6 weeks.

Starting bmi was 26.5, currently around 23. I'm at the weight I was for most of my life before peri hit, I haven't lost weight for ages and was hoping to lose a little more but am fine like this.

Its never really done much for my appetite or food noise but I ate healthily anyway, no real side effects either. I now eat more in calorie terms than I use to so it's definitely addressed some invisible problem.

I plan to continue for a while longer to see if any more comes off then drop down the doses and see where I remain stable.

So much more comfortable, very pleased.

LadyOfTheBake · 18/08/2026 14:40

I’ve been on mj for nearly two years. I started at bmi 26. It’s honestly changed my life. If I can answer any questions to help please let me know 🫶

How much do you take weekly now, and why did you start at a relatively low BMI as I assume that there weren’t a lot of off label prescribers back then?

I started 6 weeks ago at BMI 27 and am astonished by the reduction in inflammation (rosacea, psoriasis).

I tweak it every week according to my needs. Since December I’ve injected anywhere between every 3-10 days and 1.25 to 6mg.

It was my last ditched attempt at managing my weight. I didn’t think it would work and I was scared and disgusted at myself. I was first obese at 16 and have been fighting my weight for 30 years. Read every book and tried every diet or ‘lifestyle change’ as they like to call it. It’s bullshit.

The weight loss has been a secondary benefit. I didn’t think it would be but getting rid of the food noise has cleared my brain to finally know some peace. 😊

Offredismysister · 19/08/2026 08:40

Week 2 & I’ve lost 500g. I knew it wouldn’t be much more as the suppression just wasn’t there this week. Nor was the constipation, thankfully.
I’m within the normal BMI range now & my body fat is down by 1% & in the normal range too. Jab 3 today.

NellieTheElephant1 · 19/08/2026 13:10

First week on Wegovy 0.25 completed and I’ve lost 4lbs, which I’m sure is mainly water weight. Suppression is mild but the absence of food noise means it’s easy to make good choices for my meals. It’s a bit of an eye opener! No side effects other than vivid dreams the first night after injecting, fortunately. Really hoping for a loss again next week, it will feel more ‘real’ if that makes sense. How are other newbies getting on?

StylesSluttyShorts · 19/08/2026 14:11

I'm due to do my third jab on Saturday and I've lost 6lbs so far.
I do get some nausea the first few days but nothing too bad, I'm away for 10 days from Monday but I'll just focus on protein and fruit/veg, and I'm always on the go when I'm away so hoping for a least a small loss if I avoid too many margaritas
I'm assuming the initial quick loss is water but I can now fasten my jeans and breathe in them!

Wonderones · 19/08/2026 20:05

Thinking about going for it.
BMI 27. Been exercising at cross fit training classes 5 times a week for the past year - gained 14lbs! I've been losing the same 6lbs for the past two months.
I am unsure between the pill and the jab. I'd prefer to take a pill as I don't love needles. But I go to the gym at 6am and not sure it will fit well. I'm probably going to make a decision in the next 20 mins anyway or I'll back out again!

AnotherPidgey · 20/08/2026 00:09

I've seen a 62 this week for the first time in just over a year. I had got down to that temporarily last summer with the hard willpower way, went up over the summer holidays, nudged it down to low 63s by early December before an injury and Christmas bumped it up, and then could not get it down again, plus another holiday bump early this year.

It's such a difference to feel satisfied on smaller portions.

I've ordered 0.5 (Wegovy) for the next (3rd) pen. If it's more than I need given that I'm happy with the results on 0.25, I can reduce the dosing.

I haven't felt any side effects this week, although I'd had a week off. That bounce has already shifted.

I don't want to be too gung ho as I don't want to affect my energy level too harshly, and I don't want to look "deflated" if I lose quicker than my body adjusts. I also don't want to encourage losing muscle mass, particularly as I'm having to exercise less at present.

AnotherPidgey · 20/08/2026 00:16

61.6kg would cease to be "overweight" for me. While the low end of of the "healthy" range is wrong for my body's composition, I think I can lose some more surplus fat to get secure in the heathy range. Possibly around the 58-60 kg zone?

I have no desire to push below 9st- I was high 8s for a while in my early 30s and after children, but I wasn't so much into weight lifting then and I think that ship has sailed.

My waist bands are already less squished than they were prior to starting.

BlondieQueen · 22/08/2026 09:08

I’m not sure what to do, I’ve taken my 4th injection of WeGovy 0.25mg starter dose. I feel full all the time right now and am barely eating, just a few mouthfuls a few times a day of what I fancy, some healthy food, some not. Definitely under 1000 calories per day currently though. Admittedly not exercising at all. Feel mildly nauseous and having ocassional upset tummy. I’d lost 3-4lbs by end of week 2 but nothing since even though I’m eating even less than before. I’ve just received the 0.5mg pen but not feeling like I need to increase to that because appetite suppression is definitely there and gets more noticeable after every jab - but I’m just not losing much!

Should I click dose 0.25mg from the 0.5mg pen for a couple of weeks and see if I lose any more before increasing?
I’m 10 stone 8lb but want to be 9 stone.

Any advice/experience welcome please.

I’m in the same position as you but appetite suppression is strong and side effects are moderate but still not lost anything the past couple weeks. In my 30s if I’d eaten what I’ve eaten the past 2 weeks I’d have lost about 10lbs I reckon! Metabolism in my late 40’s is sooo sluggish.

Proteinpudding · 22/08/2026 09:28

@BlondieQueen ofc seek advice from your prescriber, but I wouldn't see any reason to increase your dose if you've got strong appetite supression. Maybe track your calories for a few days just to make sure you're not accidentally eating more than you realise, but it may just be the old 'weight loss isn't linear' and it will show up on the scales soon.
Even if you're very short and sedentary, I can't imagine it would be advisable or healthy to eat any less than what you've described.

Thank you, it’s hard to track as genuinely only having a few mouthfuls here and there but having tracked calories a lot in the past I know it has been under 1000 per day this past week. I’m 5ft 6” so my BMI is 23.9 and I have a narrow frame underneath all the chub Grin so really need to lose 1.5 stone to look slim at 9 stone. I spent all my 20/30s between 8-9 stone but my weight started going up and up from early 40s, even though my diet really hasn’t changed much. I think years of yo-yo dieting has screwed up my metabolism! I’m definitely sedentary though and need to start exercising and building some muscle which should boost my metabolism, I’m just lazy!

kljdslhs877 · 22/08/2026 11:17

@BlondieQueen definitely recommend staying on as a low a dose as possible while it’s working, I’m not sure if there is any fact to this but I wonder as well if we can try to not become too reliant on it (ie try to do as much as we can on lower doses rather than increase unecessaeily) it may make maintenance a bit easier (whether that’s going cold turkey or having a small dose) as we are less reliant on it.

Im now 9stone (5’5 so BMI 21) I am keen to lose a few more pounds but will be going to maintenance levels in the next few weeks. I’ve lost 24lb but it’s been with zero effort, no calorie counting, not focussing enough of fuelling my body tbh and not actually feeling very healthy right now despite being the slimmest I’ve been since my early 20s.

Treating September as a new start to really focus on the healthy side of eating and exercise now I’m the weight I want to be, no excuses. I went on a big no-upf kick a few years ago and I’m going to do that again (in moderation, not too strict!) I’ve even just bought myself a kitchen aid mixer to make homemade treats 🤣

That sounds sensible! Well done for getting to 9 stone, that’s where I want to be. I agree about trying to be on the lowest dose required (for cost, health and longevity) and my appetite is now very suppressed on 0.25mg after 4 jabs, I’m just disappointed with a 4lb loss after a month so was just debating going to 0.5mg to speed it up. I have done ‘no sugar’ spells in recent years and can lose a stone in a month that way when I’m very strict and eat healthily, so 4lbs seems a bit rubbish….but at least it hasn’t taken any willpower I suppose. I’ll keep going on 0.25mg for now and see if it improves…

@kljdslhs877how long did it take you to lose 24lbs out of interest?
