@showmetheginI’m still with MedExpress and have had no issues getting pens now I’m a healthy BMI.

Last full day of holiday today for me. It’s been fantastic to feel so confident in my swimming costume and comfortable in my own skin. Best I’ve felt on holiday for years.

I'm looking forward to getting back to my usual eating habits when we get home, although I’ve eaten fairly well while we’ve been away.

Did Swift Doctor ask your starting weight/BMI
please? Voy were the only ones who would accept me but keen to change for a less expensive option for my second pen - however I’m thinking others still won’t accept me as a transfer patient if they know my starting BMI was just over 25 and I’m on the first month of Wegovy..
Thanks Smile

No they didn’t. They just asked for my current weight and height. A video of me standing on the scales. A picture of my current box. A full length photo in clingy clothing. And a photo of my ID. Oh and also the date of my last injection.

ETA: I was BMI 21 when I switched.

That’s really useful thank you, I’ll give it a go in a couple of weeks’ time if I’m going to continue.

On Day 3 and not feeling any effects whatsoever so far, but I’m probably being impatient haha.

Proteinpudding · 02/08/2026 19:22

I managed a good gym session today, and hit my target reps on all my exercises (which I hadn't managed to do last week). Im really pleased with that as my calorie average this week has been a bit lower than usual and I was a bit worried I might be losing muscle rather than fat (I know any weight loss is likely to be partly muscle, but I want to retain what I can, I've worked hard for it!)

Beachforever · 02/08/2026 21:02

I’m on holiday and haven’t had an injection for 11 days.

It’s amazing how much better I feel. I am putting some weight on and eating normally for the first time in 3 months. Not excessive, just normal. 2 meals a day (no snacking) and enjoying them. I need to put a bit of weight on as working out my maintenance dose wasn’t going well and my weight was plummeting. My energy has returned and no more dizziness.

So I’m enjoying the break and going to restart a small microdose of 1mg every week to 10 days when I get home. Purely to achieve the anti-inflammatory benefits as I can tell I’m puffing up again due to my damned hypothyroidism!

@Beachforeverits interesting isn’t, I came off it on holiday too after really struggling the first week and couldn’t believe how much better I felt when it was out my system, I hadn’t realised how ‘off’ I had felt. I’ve decided to push through it though, I think once I get to maintenance it’ll be better and I will take occasional breaks.

Proteinpudding · 02/08/2026 21:07

Oh that's interesting that you've noticed such a difference @Beachforever I have wondered that about mounjaro, everyone I know who has tried it has had such a strong effect from it I wonder how straightforward it is to do maintenance (appreciate there will be some who don't respond as well or build tolerances etc)

snowgirl1 · 03/08/2026 09:00

Just checking in, I've just reached the end of my 3rd week on 0.25mg Wegovy. Lost 0.6KG in week 3 (compared to 1.9kg in week 1) so the rate of loss is definitely decreasing. I couldn't decide whether to increase the dosage with my next order, but decided to stick at 0.25mg as we're going on holiday and I don't really want to risk any side effects while I'm on hol.

Proteinpudding · 03/08/2026 09:10

Seems sensible @snowgirl1 ! Hope you enjoy your holiday.

My weekly 'official' weigh in (I weigh daily so I don't stress about fluctuations, though record it weekly) Half a kilo down too, this is my second week at 0.5mg wegovy. Honestly thought I might have lost more as calories were low last week but perhaps it'll show up later.

Overall - starting weight was around 63kg/64kg
Current weight 58.3kg

Happy with my progress, it's gradual though I think it's right for me (proportionally I've lost nearly 10% of my bodyweight which is hard to believe after gaining and losing the same 2kgs for years!)

RubyTraybake · 03/08/2026 10:10

Just swapped to swift doctor after one month with voy. BMI 25, no problems at all and £90 cheaper for 7.5mg.

BeEagerRubyBird · 03/08/2026 10:16

I'm with Swift Doctor and about to talk to them about a maintenance plan as I'm pretty much at goal now. Has anyone done this and know how it works? I am on Wegovy and am thinking I maybe need to try 0.25 as a maintenance dose as I plateaued on that in the end before moving up to 0.5 (although I did lose rapidly on 0.25 before that). But given they charge the same for 0.25/0.5/1mg pens, I would like to get bigger pens and split doses. Or do they set what prescription you can get? Thanks in advance!

BridgetRandomfuck · 03/08/2026 10:24

Hope it's ok to jump in as a newbie - hello!

I'm in my late 40s and have noticed my weight creeping up over the last couple of years, I'm now BMI 24 and desperate not to get any bigger. My usual weight maintenance tricks are not working and this is the heaviest I've ever been. It's really getting me down. When I heard about the Wegovy pills I thought it sounded like a great option and I signed up for it with MedExpress and got approved. I've been taking them for three weeks and have noticed no difference whatsoever - I don't feel any different, just as hungry as ever and have gained a pound. When I went to reorder there was no option to increase the dose, they'd have sent me another 1.5mg. So I thought maybe I should try the Wegovy injection and am currently waiting on approval from Bolt. DH thinks I haven't given it long enough to see if it works, but I'm reluctant to keep paying for something that's not doing anything! Is the pen option better, do you think? And am I being stupidly impatient? I've read so many things online abut people feeling amazing effects from both the pills and the pen and I've been so disappointed to have got nothing from it.

I don't know if it'll be any cheaper than their 'new customer' offer, but feel free to DM me for a referral link for voy if it helps.

Also I know this isn't what Voy advises, but I signed up for 3 months, did one month at their intro offer (about £90 I think) and then with my higher dose second pen I bought extra needles and split the doses. I did that because I was doing fine on the starter dose and didn't realise they'd automatically send me a higher one, but it did work out a lot cheaper! At the end of the three months I went to cancel and they offered me £50 discount off my next two pens too.

Can I ask where you got the extra needles from please? I’m only taking 0.5 from. 1pen at the moment as seems to be working well!

I am surprised you weren't given the option to increase the dose. Are you on the specific Wegovy pill thread as well? Might be worth querying that on there as I think others have discussed moving up after 1 month. I am not on them, I am on Mounjaro.

Some people don't respond to the first month dose level but I don't think there is much point in doing another month at the same dose if you have noticed no difference at all.

In terms of efficacy, the wegovy injections get slightly better results than the pills and mounjaro performs better than wegovy. If I were you I'd go up a dose on the pills (by changing providers if necessary) and if I were moving to injections i'd go straight to Mounjaro given your lack of response to the wegovy pills.

Summerbay23 · 03/08/2026 11:26

Sorry if this has already been asked but I'm getting towards a healthy BMI. My last pen was with Lotus but I actually bought a 15mg pen and have been taking 10mg doses (so the pen has lasted longer than 4 weeks). Do you know if any suppliers allow longer between ordering pens or are they really funny about that? Or could I potentially leave longer between doses (10 - 14 days instead of 7 for instance) as I start to titrate down? Basically I'm wondering what supplier will be the most flexible to allow me to potentially reduce my dosing or have longer between ordering pens whilst I find my stable weight. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for your reply - I looked again, and actually maybe as I'm closer to the reorder date, it gave me the option to increase the dose, so I have just ordered 4mg and will see how that goes. Maybe keep the Bolt pen as back-up if this still doesn't work! But hopefully I will get some effect from it now, will report back!

Proteinpudding · 03/08/2026 12:33

@Farmwifefarmlife I got mine from Ashcroft pharmacy, though most online pharmacies sell them. If you look at the needle that comes with your pen it should say the gauge so you can check you're buying the equivalent, they're quite standard for insulin needles though I believe.

@BridgetRandomfuck some people find they notice the effects of wegovy straight away but technically it is a starter dose for your body to adjust, so it makes sense to try the second month to see whether it works for you. I'm surprised you got them from Medexpress with BMI 24 though, I have heard of people being turned down by them for being under BMI 28.

I’m back from a lovely holiday. I’m out of sync with my jabs as I did a half dose (0.13 Wev) before I went and then a late half dose when I got back last night.

Hopped on the scales this morning to discover I’ve actually lost weight while I’ve been on holiday! We were doing more activity than usual but I’m still amazed as I was definitely enjoying the food.

How’s everyone else doing today?

AmIReallyTheGrownup · 04/08/2026 08:02

Is anyone else losing at quite a slow but steady pace? In my first 3 weeks I lost 2.1kg so 700g (1.5 lbs) a week.

I’m not disheartened as I do want to do this slowly and protect muscle but it seems that the weight flies off everyone else, so I’m wondering if it’s not working correctly.

I started with a BMI of 26.7 and I’m now BMI 25.9. I know I won’t lose as fast as most people starting at BMI 30+, but even here people are losing much more.

Proteinpudding · 04/08/2026 08:59

@AmIReallyTheGrownup are you tracking your calories? The level of appetite supression varies individually and depending on whether you're using wegovy or mounjaro, though you're still managing some of a deficit if you've lost 2kg in 3 weeks.
I've lost 6kg in just under three months, with a plateau of 3 weeks within that. It doesn't sound much but being small its nearly 10% of my bodyweight.

I don’t think this is slow in my opinion, it’s a good rate of loss.

I've been microdosing Mounjaro for a month now. 0.625 mg, which is a quarter dose from a 2.5mg pen. Happily, I seem to have given up smoking. Unhappily, I've lost 4kg from a healthy starting weight.

Monjminj · 04/08/2026 12:42

I wanted the health benefits without the dramatic weight loss. I can't afford to lose that much that fast. At this rate I'll be underweight within a month.

You can’t be serious. This is not the thread for you. If you don’t want to lose weight, don’t take a weightloss injection.
