June 2026 Mounjaro Starters

rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 11:49

Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Lost another 2.5lbs this week so 7.5lbs over two weeks. Third jab tomorrow. Feeling hunger today but not the food noise so that's ok as it was the food noise that was my biggest issue. Going to stick with 2.5 when I reorder.

Moonjaro · 12/06/2026 19:09

Just taken my first jab, 1.25mg. Been a long week and I got a new job. Hoping I can lose a bit of weight before my starting date.

HNAN36 · 12/06/2026 20:12

Some great losses. Makes me feel more positive about this weight loss journey.

I have taken my second dose today. Has anyone found the second dose has stronger effects? I actually forgot to eat until almost 1pm.

I have eaten chicken salad, half a protein bar and picked at a slice of chicken and vegetable pizza (a bit naughty but it’s homemade) with salad. Barely touched my evening meal. Just wasn’t feeling hungry at all.

I wrote early about going up a dose next month after not having strong suppression. But today it’s hit more than last week!

HelicoPie · 12/06/2026 20:18

I’m starting to feel hungry today. I’m going to go to the 5mg for the next dose. Let’s see!

Blythwind · 12/06/2026 20:41

I did my first dose on 2.5mg on Tuesday. Definitely feeling hungry today so not sure how i will feel until next jab is due. Must stay strong!

puffysthename · 12/06/2026 20:45

Wow amazing losses everyone 👏 For me, I didn’t feel the suppression that intensely. I moved up to 5mg and in 8 weeks I have lost a stone. It’s great but I suppose I thought it would be quicker for me as I have a lot to lose. I also think I have very messed up pathways in my brain so might be somebody who needs to work up to max dose. Keep up the good fight everyone x

Excuse me jumping in here but I might be able to offer some useful advice as someone who has completed their journey.
I started April 2024 at 96 kg . I reached goal 62kg and BMI 22.5 in January 2025.
So 5st 2.4 lb loss.
previously :

high bp
high cholesterol
Weight related osteoarthritis in knees
sleep apnoea.

All resolved . No medication for over a year. I maintain on 7.5mg.

The more you have to lose - will almost certainly correlate with how insulin resistant you are to start with. Which will inform how you move up the doses.

For me, this meant I followed the ‘instructions’ going up the doses after each pen until I was at the top 15mg. This also meant that I didn’t really get much suppression at all until 7.5mg and therefore little weight loss.. so if it’s not really happening yet - that is absolutely normal !
All the posts on here about people staying on 2.5mg and losing steadily is infact, very unusual. As 2.5mg is a therapeutic dose. Which means it’s not actually intended to have any effect at all except to introduce your body to the drug.

If you are lucky enough to be losing already - that’s great. However I would hate people who have just started their first pen and haven’t dropped a lb so far - to be disheartened or believe it’s not working for them to give up. It all depends on your own personal hormonal make up. Some will get all the effects on the lowest dose and many many more will need to go to the top to reach goal and titrate down to find the balance of controlled appetite not surpressed. In order to maintain.

My weight gain was not due to an unhealthy diet. I’ve always cooked from scratch and enjoy it. I just had way way too much of it.

Also - side effects. To read on here, you would believe they are inevitable. It’s not. I have never had a one. I have at least 15 friends on them that I know of - and none report or display any symptoms. So whilst all drugs can cause side effects, they are the exception rather than the norm.

Thank you for posting this. I thought there was something wrong with me!! First few months have been slow. Looking forward to dropping more as the doses get higher (I have a lot to lose).

Sleepeazie · 12/06/2026 23:14

For the 2nd time this week, I’ve said to my OH I smell of potatoes (like when you’ve peeled raw potatoes) and he’s agreed.

i googled tonight and it’s a verified side effect 😂 how funny!

rosecbrm · 13/06/2026 14:10

well I took my 3rd dose yesterday, and today I’ve woken up with bad diarrhoea, stomach cramps, severe nausea and I even vomitted 3 times (I haven’t been sick in about 10 years!).

So strange as I’ve had no side effects from the previous two doses, no idea if it’s related or not to the medication but I’m now petrified to do another jab just incase I feel this awful again!

Could it be related to anything different you've eaten or drunk? I am sorry to hear you're having a rotten day. I don't think this is an easy way to lose weight at all.

HelicoPie · 13/06/2026 18:26

I’ve been wondering if symptoms are not connected to mounjaro itself, but because it makes you less aware of other signals. Normally, you might feel Hungary/lightheaded, and eat sugar etc. now those signals are switched off/dulled. So I think that must contribute to headaches/upset stomach a bit. I’m also thinking it’s like going cold turkey so suddenly not eating the usual food must confuse your stomach. I’ve done the stupid thing of weighing every day and the scales haven’t shifted for 4 days so I’m finding that frustrating. Which I know is silly - but I bet I’m not alone!

Moonjaro · 13/06/2026 19:17

I also wondered if you're tracking your estimated levels on Shotsy? It might be that you've reached a level that is less tolerable to you?

LetitGoDLP · 14/06/2026 06:31

@rosecbrm unfortunately being unwell after the 3rd dose is known but good news is it should hopefully be one and done. Hope it passes quickly for you.

sleepsuit · 14/06/2026 07:31

I'll join too! My first ever pen comes today and I plan to do the first dose this evening. I was actually quite surprised to be accepted for a pen on Voy, I've tried signing up before on different pharmacies and always been refused! I've just turned 40 though so maybe that's it!??

I'm 5'4" and 11st 8lbs.

I've always been small and have very skinny legs. Lots of weight on my upper body since have two kids that I cannot shift no matter what I do. Tried for the last five years, lots of exercise and shifting from eating badly to not. I've had a really good week this week though in preparation. Planning to drink gallons of water and eat lots of small healthy meals.

rosecbrm · 14/06/2026 07:41

Thanks all, yesterday was crazy I couldn’t keep anything down at all. I must’ve been sick well over 20 times.

Could very well be something I ate, I have no clue! I doubt it was related to just the mounjaro alone as I was sooo so sick.

End of 2nd week and another 3lbs loss, so 6lbs in 2 weeks. Felt that the effects wore off yesterday but still managed to stay in calorie deficit. So far I have had no side effects other than a bit of a dull headache in the couple of days post injection.

I will try the dress on today that I want to wear to the wedding in 24 days and hope that I see a difference. Last week I was able to get the zip up easier but it still felt tighter at the hips. I had bought it when I was 7lbs lighter than I am now but have had major abdominal surgery since then so do have swelling still. I so hope I can wear it as I love it

TheLoupGarou · 14/06/2026 11:08

End of week two for me - 1lb off this week, but 6lb over the two weeks, so that is pretty good. I've just ordered my next pen - have gone for the 5mg, but i think i might titrate it up gradually by click counting for the 3.75mg dose at first. I have had zero side effects so far 🤞

I definitely felt less suppression than in week 1. I am wondering if it is because I injected into my thigh & maybe didn't absorb it as well from there? It is hard to know.

Well done to everyone - some really good losses!

That sounds like really good motivation - does the dress fit yet? Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thinking about it, I have a birthday party next weekend and will maybe fit into a favourite dress by then too - exciting!

LetitGoDLP · 14/06/2026 19:51

We were out today for a birthday celebration and I ate too much, must have finished eating by 2 and I’m still so full and uncomfortable. Definitely learned a lesson!

NatWestPigFamily · 14/06/2026 22:09

Hi Everyone, please may I join? I am 5,3 12stone and a quarter. Previously lost 1 stone on Orlistat, but have put lots of weight back on due to a fracture and then another injury where I had to stop all activity. I have taken my first Mounjaro injection tonight and am very nervous. Thanks.

TheLoupGarou · 14/06/2026 23:00

@Hystersister26did you try the dress on?? 🙏 it's good motivation for sure when you have an event coming up!

Welcome to the thread NatWest!

It was better than 2 weeks ago! I still have 3 weeks so I am hopeful will be ok or a mad dash to the shops. I am mother of the groom so I really feel the pressure.

It's a brilliant feeling to fit into something that was too small before. Hope you manage to wear your dress too 😘

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 15/06/2026 08:15

1 lb loss. I'm a slow loser with mobility issues so a small win. In my keeping it's a marathon not a sprint in my head.

Onwards and downwards for the win

14s 6lb

DaisyDooley · 15/06/2026 08:36

Hi can I join?
Im day 10 so two jabs in. The food noise hasn’t stopped completely but it’s not deafening me anymore. I’ve found my appetite varies day to day and my meat consumption has dropped off a cliff.
I made a Stromboli yesterday and had two small (for me!) pieces, a pot of 23g protein cottage cheese (Waitrose, just over 100cal for pot), some hummus and some Peter yard crackers. That was all day.
The thing I am struggling with is drinking. I’m just not feeling thirsty.
I lost 3kg in my first week .

sweetpickle2 · 15/06/2026 09:31

Had a bonus weigh in this morning and finally lost something, down to 92kg.

Not sure I'll be 85kg by my wedding but hopefully moving in the right direction!

SW 94kg
CW 92kg
GW 85kg
