rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 11:49

Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

I only lost 1lb this week- 4th jab.

Do you thnk the efficacy reduces and so your body builds up a tolerance to it?
Is that why it's recommended to go up to a higher dosage- 5mg?

HelenDenver · 18/07/2026 11:00

@AplineDaisies my understanding is that 2.5mg isn’t clinically “therapeutic” and that 5mg is the first therapeutic dosage level. That’s not to say many, many people don’t lose on 2.5mg but the “standard clinical” path is to increase the concentrations to 5mg and beyond.

TheBlueDeer · 18/07/2026 18:10

I’ve now lost almost a stone in just under 6 weeks. I am struggling with nausea this week and a bad stomach, not sure if it’s because I’m definitely not eating enough. Too tired to exercise or train this week too. I can’t believe people say this is the easy way out tbh. I lost a significant amount of weight ‘the proper way’ and I genuinely think this is harder.

HNAN36 · 18/07/2026 19:18

@HelenDenverthank you. At least I am actually loosing the weight. I tried everything before and could not shift a single pound.

@TheBlueDeer I tried forcing the pen round and I didn’t get it all out. Thank you ☺️

Blythwind · 18/07/2026 20:49

Ive just done my 7th jab at 2.5mg and my loss has totally stalled. Im considering increasing to 5mg but thats £199 with my current provider. Do you all shop around when changing pens?

Wishiwasatailor · 19/07/2026 05:33

@Blythwind yes every single time I've ordered a new pen I've used Monj.com to find the next cheapest pharmacy. You have to go through the taking photos and sending them your previous prescription but it takes a few extra minutes and saves £££

Openmouthinsertfood · 19/07/2026 05:42

Hi everyone. Kept waking so decided to give in and get up. Weigh in day today. I must admit, I'm a little dissapointed. I didn't do too much different from last week but only lost 2lbs this week. I must confess, I did start eating a few low calorie/sugar cereal/fibre one bars, etc. I'm going to try and knock them on the head this week. This week will be a bit of an experriment anyway. I have bought some whey/proteien powder that I want a glass of everyday, and a protein bar. See if I can get more protein in and how it affects my weight.
Good luck to all weighing tooday. Helen, I believe you weigh today?

Shortsally42 · 19/07/2026 06:43

@Openmouthinsertfood Well done on the loss. I understand the disappointment but try not to lose sight of how much you've lost. It's still double what those on the Mj trials lost per week.

Day 25 check in for me. I'm about 4.5kg down. Really pleased with that. Hopefully will say goodbye to the 70s in the next month.

I haven't been exercising enough so need to sort that. This week I learned if I accidentally go too low fat on my macros, I can still get a bit constipated.

Have a good week all!

HelenDenver · 19/07/2026 07:34

@Openmouthinsertfood that’s sweet of you to remember! I just weighed and I hardly lost anything this week - 0.2kg! Boo! But I was sort of expecting it. I have had a couple of bad nights of sleep and the need to eat when I’m knackered seems to be stronger than the appetite suppression of 2.5mg .

It makes it 4.9kg lost on the first pen, so that’s a good start. And whilst I did eat more, it was quite healthy choices like crackers and cottage cheese, not biscuits.

I have to jab today (first jab of pen 2) as I had lots on yesterday and didn’t want to risk the burps for the sake of the people I was with 🙂

Shortsally42 · 19/07/2026 16:59

I've been reading about savings from buying a 5mg pen when I'm on 2mg. It's easy to adjust the dose with clicks. Naturally I've just ordered a new pen so shall start doing that from next time. Swift Dr seem to allow orders every 2 months so should be able to get away with it.

Goldpanther · 19/07/2026 20:25

I've just ordered my third pen, but I am going to lower my dose I think. I am still suffering with lightheadedness when I stand, and have very bad d+v the second day after jabbing. Both I could tolerate, if I wasn't chasing after a toddler all day!

Weigh day for me is tomorrow, but I've definitely lost weight as I'm down another inch off my waist!

Notweirdatall · 19/07/2026 21:06

That sounds hard @Goldpanther, can’t be fun while rnnng around after a toddler- good feeling to be losing inches though!!!

This week I am on dose 7, and another 1lb lost, taking me to 18.5lbs. Still unsure if slowing weight loss warrants a rise n dose yet… Will wait and decide at my appointment but tempted to stick to the 2.5mg for my third pen in terms of not triggering the migraines!

No fun at all, feeling light headed all the time!

Just weighed in and I'm down 7.5kg after 2 months. Really pleased with that, and only 3kg to go before I'm in the normal BMI bracket.

HelenDenver · Yesterday 07:17

Sorry you are feeling so crappy @Goldpanther but well done on great BMI progress!

Midgetwithaplan · Yesterday 07:33

Everyone is doing so well, despite some side effects. I'm about to start pen 2 tomorrow. Have ordered a 5mg but may take 3.75mg every 6 days to move my jab day from Tuesday to Saturday before my holiday in September.
I've weighed in today and have some from 77.5kg to 72.2kg over the 4 weeks. Most of the loss was in the first 2 weeks but as I really wasn't hungry I basically didn't eat, so I'm happy to have kept that weight off over the next 2 weeks when I've been eating a lot more, but eating much more mindfully. My protein has gone up massively, and I seem to be eating enough fibre and drinking enough water to avoid most side effects!

SW 77.5kg
CW 72.2kg
GW 73kg

Shortsally42 · Yesterday 07:51

Well done on all the progress.
@Goldpanther I can't tolerate higher doses either. 5mg really floored me.

NSV this morning that my shoes are feeling looser again. And a SV, I hit 71.8kg. Scale has been fluctuating for the last 2 days from 72kg. 😁 I know it's only another 200 grams but I really wanted to see the 71s!

HelenDenver · Yesterday 10:40

Fifth jab yesterday and I am feeling so, so tired (still 2.5mg).

Fifth jab yesterday and I am feeling so, so tired (still 2.5mg).

Sorry to hear that. How is your diet? Are you eating enough carbs and fat to give your body fuel?

HelenDenver · Yesterday 11:34

I’m usually under on carbs or fat on any given day (according to Nutracheck!) because I focus on protein and fibre.

It’s a good call to check as I did have a day earlier in the month when I was feeling dizzy and had carbs which helped. I’ve got quinoa for lunch and sweet potato for dinner planned in today so maybe that will help!

childfreebychoice · Yesterday 15:19

Weigh in day for me again this morning. After not seeing a loss last week, I bounced back with a 2lb loss this week. I'm happy with that, especially as I went for an amazing dinner on Saturday night, which was a tasting menu with wine pairing, and I enjoyed every mouthful of it!

Start date: 15 June 2026
Starting weight: 18st 7lb
Current weight: 17st 11lb
Loss so far: 10lb
Initial target weight: 12st 6lb

Seagullsandsausagerolls · Yesterday 18:08

I lost nothing this week but I'm in Northern Ireland and there was a Bank Holiday so we were out and about two days. At least I didn't gain!

Ordered 5mg this morning as don'y quite feel that 2.5mg is doing much for me.

bananamachinewater · Today 09:28

Weigh in day for me today and had 1.5lbs off this week making it a total of 1st5lbs. I'm due dose 7 tonight.
I'm getting close to GW now which is exciting although I'll see how clothes etc feel when I get there (about another 4/5lbs).
NSV - wore shorts at the weekend that were very tight on holiday in May and they were annoying the life out of me falling down all day 😂so definitely at least a full size down now.

HelenDenver · Today 09:32

Well done @bananamachinewater and @childfreebychoice

Not gaining over a bank holiday is definitely a win @Seagullsandsausagerolls

I went to bed at 9pm 😀 and feeling better so far today!
