Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Jab 2 due today! I'm quite excited. I've lots 6lbs in Week 1, which I think is mostly bloat but it feels great nonetheless. Definitely felt my appetite grow a bit yesterday, I snacked which I haven't done all week!

LetitGoDLP · 21/06/2026 07:14

@ElviraZoffany we have 6 in a pack from bolt, my husband has started too and we’ve both had our second pen delivered so 4 lots of 6 now.

ElviraZoffany · 21/06/2026 07:54

@LetitGoDLP That’s generous! I’m with MedExpress. I’ll have to get in touch with them for more.

Jab1 Day2 I’ve woken with a bit of a dehydration headache but I’m on it.

I can feel I’m empty but I’m not bothered. It’s not really translated into hunger. Very odd!!

Hystersister26 · 21/06/2026 09:08

End of week 3 and I am 1lb down which makes it 7lbs loss in 3 weeks. The effects wore off for me on day 5 this week but it has been a busy week and my protein intake wasn't as high as usual so this maybe influenced this.

I had ordered another 2.5 pen but maybe needing 5 now, will see how this week goes when I am fully focused

HNAN36 · 21/06/2026 09:27

Some great losses everyone. Well done 🙌🏻🎉

@ElviraZoffanyI am with Morrisons pharmacy and I have been sent a whole box them. Not sure how many but must be 20 plus 🤷🏼‍♀️. I assumed that was normal.

HelenDenver · 21/06/2026 09:31

I got about 6 needle caps with my first pen, assume a couple of spares in case of issue. What a pain that you only got 3!

wisteriaoverbarefeet · 21/06/2026 09:33

I’m with MedExpress and they gave me 5 needles with my first one and my second pen came yesterday with another 5, how strange they only gave you 3!

A671090 · 21/06/2026 10:52

Hi can I join please?
I ordered yesterday and they should arrive Tuesday.
Im in client meetings in London on Weds and Thursday so thought I’d leave first injection till Thursday Evening? How did people find any side effects - I’m also at a hen do on Sat/Sun - so not sure if this is wise?
I want to lose 2 stone (ahead of the wedding end of August) not sure if that’s achievable but nothing else is working for me at the moment!

you all sound as if your doing amazingly - any advice would be appreciated!

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 21/06/2026 11:20

Third injection yesterday.

Lost 2lb this week. I'm aware its very slow but it was the same last time before I came off its for surgery.

Current weight: 14s 4 lb.

Today is the first real day I've felt suppression this time. Ironically very badly timed as I'm heading out for dinner later for a wedding anniversary.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 21/06/2026 11:21

ps Im with Med Express and I only got 1 needle this time. Luckily id almost a full box over from the last time that id used for the "magic dose".

ElviraZoffany · 21/06/2026 11:25

Well I feel really hard done by now!
I’ll have to get in touch with them tomorrow.

@Seagullsandsausagerolls 1 needle just doesn’t make sense (unless they’re also selling boxes of them on the side).

HelenDenver · 21/06/2026 12:58

Hello @A671090 i jabbed first time yesterday and was very tired and have the burps today (lovely!)

I had the pen in the fridge about ten days ahead, because I had stuff on last weekend so decided to wait. I would probably wait until after your hen do as I think a lot of people don’t like to drink on MJ.

LibbyL92 · 21/06/2026 14:03

Day 5 after my first jab, food noise is becoming a problem! Is this normal before the next jab?

I think they are changing the pens in the near future to only have 4 doses but mine are the original ones…basically you’ll do your 4 doses and then the pen mechanism will stop working but there is still a full dose of liquid left in it.
You need to use a syringe to pull it out of the pen and then inject (0.6ml is a dose so a 1ml syringe is ideal).
There will probably be loads of discussions on it in other threads, it’s usually referred to as the golden dose

I did my 4th dose on Friday and yep, got liquid left in the pen! Can you forcw the mechanism to be able to get that dose? Or if not…Where on earth do you get syringes from though to extract it?!

HelenDenver · 21/06/2026 20:36

Tracked my food on nutracheck all
day. Hit my water and protein targets but not quite my fibre target (25g rather than 30g achieved). No side effects apart from the dreaded burps yet!

Made Soupdragon’s flapjacks for the fam but don’t want one myself, hoorah!

This is exactly what I want to know! As an aside, if this is of any benefit to new starters, I’m on month 2 since last Tues, and have moved to the 5mg pen. Side effects are minimal and I’m down around 7kg in 5/6 weeks.
Like a previous poster I want to lose around 15kg.

QueenStevie · 22/06/2026 06:11

After hardly any suppression last week (week 3), I am now extremely suppressed this week! I can't really face eating anything at the moment. I went out to friends and drunk quite a lot on Saturday (the most I have drunk since being on MJ) and I had the most horrendous heartburn and indigestion. I would like it to get on an even keel really so I know what I'm doing.

Shortsally42 · 22/06/2026 13:08

Hi everyone,
I'm a June restarter. I gained 1 of the 2 stones Id lost on Mounjaro. I definitely want to lose this stone but not especially fussed after that. I have a fairly athletic solid build so likely stick to an overweight bmi.

To those who asked, this is the kind of needle you need to draw out a 5th dose. If it's the new type, it's interesting there was still enough left.

There's plenty of videos on YouTube showing you how to do it. It's really not hard though.

The burps seem to have stopped, hurrah. Not interested in food today but am trying to eat my protein.

Yes I find the suppression wears off quite a bit as the next jab approaches.

Chiffchaff7 · 22/06/2026 17:43

Anyone struggling with food aversions? I’m on Day 4 of my first injection and am struggling to find things to eat. I find fruit most appealing, lentil chips, Greek yogurt, and some cereal bars. The thought of bread, meat, fish, pasta, chocolate all turns my stomach! I’m hoping this will settle.

I definitely have food aversions, about to do my 6th jab and they haven't improved.

I'm trying to go with it, I can eat veg, fruit, greek yogurt, and some meat if I've cooked it. So lots of different options for healthy meals. I am also trying new foods I wouldn't usually go for (lentils, grains etc).

I have no interest in other dairy foods like cheese and condiments like mayonnaise.

ElviraZoffany · 22/06/2026 19:03

@Chiffchaff7 That sounds like it will take a little getting used to.

I took my first at 12 on Saturday and any effects so far have been very subtle, so much so that I’ve just logged on to ask if that’s normal! I’m eating just over half as much as normal but it feels like my own choice rather than the effect of the medication. I really fancied crisps earlier and nicked some of the kid’s.

Have you felt that way since day 1?

HelenDenver · 22/06/2026 19:07

I first jabbed Saturday afternoon (so I guess this is day 3 for me) - no aversions, just quite meh about eating anything!

Chiffchaff7 · 22/06/2026 19:27

@ElviraZoffany Yes, it’s been like this since day one. Very little appetite and have to really make an effort to eat anything.
