I weighed myself today, having not done so for over a month. Did my conversion charts and realised…I’ve done it. I’ve lost ten stone!

Ten stone three to be exact. Unfortunately for me I still have around another four stone to go Grin but it’s still very encouraging and exciting. I’m so close to Onederland I can feel it.

Billybingbong · 18/05/2026 09:45

Good morning friends. I'm back from my holidays, had an amazing time, but have brought back a little unwanted souvenir of a 4lb gain. I'm cross with myself, but hardly surprised. The MJ seems to have gone on it's holidays too, and I have fallen back into the evening snack habit. Its going to take some willpower to get back on track.

I'm feeling it though, and feel really bleurgh & sluggish. I had a couple of episodes of really bad acid reflux while I was away, and it was a stark reminder of my pre-jab days, when that was a regular thing. I absolutely don't want to go back there, so am really hoping the MJ will kick back in once I get back to my usual routine.

I hope everyone is doing good, I need to catch up on all the news & nsv's 😊

EducatingEater · 18/05/2026 11:20

Congratulations everyone, just been catching up. Hope those with dose problems (side effects and questions) are feeling much better?

I've hit a bit of a stall at the moment, today and last Monday have both been maintains. I haven't been out to exercise because I'm an unpaid carer 24/7 and circumstances mean there haven't been the opportunities to. I feel very disappointed that the scales aren't moving and haven't for 2 weeks now despite not going over my calories and being under them (not dramatically go the point my body would panic) most days. I'm still early in on my mounjaro treatment too, this is only my third pen in total (5mg) that I'm coming to the end of.

I think I need to up the water intake as a priority and think more about WHAT is going in me rather than it fitting the calories as due to the caring position although it is still the right amounts calories wise, it's not always the best thing nutritionally as I've just been too tired to care for me too. It's a vicious circle and it has to change.

So.... Stop writing this post, get some lunch started and drink more water. Onwards and downwards!

TragicMuse · 18/05/2026 12:36

Well done @afaloren that’s such an achievement!

4lb on a holiday sounds manageable - and normal - @Billybingbong you’ve done well! Back to normal now to stabilise!

And @EducatingEater prioritise protein! Keep yourself hydrated and up the veg if you can.

I’m feeling so much better back to 10mg than I did last week on 12.5mg. So I’m going to resume my 10mg every 5 days regime. I’ve ordered another 12.5 pen as I can get 6.3 doses from it which has a lower cost per dose benefit.

Feeling focused again!

PearlsTeapot · 18/05/2026 12:45

@afaloren KLAXON! TEN STONE ALERT! Well done you, an amazing achievement. Your life must feel so changed.

Morning all! Weigh in over here in Reset Corner. Bit disappointed with 1lb, but have to accept it's going to be a long slog back down to where I was, and at least it's going in the right direction - no matter how slowly. I can live with that. Did drink a bit too much at the weekend (damn you Eurovision!) but food-wise, suppression is still decent at 2.5mg. Having a few stresses in life, as we all do, and having to resist the urge to 'cheer myself up' with a take away. I wouldn't have been able to resist this time last month, so onwards and downards!

SW: 307lb
New SW: 272lb
CW: 258lb

tescovaluebread · 18/05/2026 14:07

I can't believe I am posting about this and I'm having a chuckle to myself at the thought:
I don't have an apron belly anymore and now for the first time in forever, I will actually have to sort out the bikini line ahead of my holiday. Previously it wouldn't have made a difference because the belly would overhang and you couldn't see this area anyway. Now the hairs are on show for the world to see...oh the NSV's keep coming😂

TragicMuse · 18/05/2026 16:13

That’s hilarious @tescovaluebread!

And @eibbed999, I find alcohol plays merry hell with my losses. I was out weekend before last, drank more than I have in months but didn’t eat much and it completely screwed my whole week. Took me all week to get half a pound off! I haven’t gone teetotal, I still like drinks, but I increasingly can’t be arsed with it! That was happening before MJ and now I resent the calories!

I do love a drink, but it was Baileys as well. Evil for weight gain I've discovered.

AlicesMum2025 · 18/05/2026 16:19

I went into town this weekend to try on some bras in M&S. I work from home mostly and normally live in Shapermint wireless bras, but I had to go to the office last week and I realised that even the bras I'd bought from Vinted a couple of months ago are way to big for me now. I realised that I needed to stop wasting money by just guessing my size.

When I first started MJ I was a size 42H. Turns out I'm now a 34F. A 34!!!!!! I was shocked and pleased. Now I have to get back on Vinted and buy some bras in the right size. Why are bras so expensive!? Now that I'm used to Vinted there's no way I'd pay the price they wanted in M&S.

tescovaluebread · 18/05/2026 16:22

On the topic of bras. There are some active bras from Matalan. I gave it a good test drive today during my hour aerobics and no movement at all. I'm very impressed. I'm a 38C (from a 44D!)
I paid £15 for mine but it looks like it's on sale!

PearlsTeapot · 18/05/2026 17:06

Ah bra talk. Weight loss stole my boobs so now I don't bother. I wear non wired crop tops instead.

TragicMuse · 18/05/2026 17:56

I’m crashing through bra sizes - was a 44 and anything from a DD to a G, now I’m a 36F. I make my own clothes so I have many tape measures for taking my measurements.

But after a long lingerie habit I am very choosy! So I tend to go for Prima Donna but on Vinted. They’re insanely expensive brand new but I got one for 4.50 this morning!

Onenotsosmallstep · 18/05/2026 19:37

There seems to be some sort of glitch in the matrix. I’m wearing size 10 jeans today

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/05/2026 22:22

WOW size 10!!!

@Springflowers2 Around 18months ago, just before I started, I was very concerned about money and someone on this thread said my kids would rather have me alive, than the activites. And that really stuck with me. It really is life or death reallylong term with the levels of morbid obesity most of us were at. i've got better at valuing myself and making myself a priority as the time has gone on - its been a real lesson for me.

@afaloren Congratulations on 10 stone! I popped on today to say I weighed this morning..... and also have reached the 10 stone mark!! I was so surpised. I have been hovering around 12st-12st2 for what felt like forever and then didn't weigh for a while and suddently (it seems) I get a drop to 11st 11!

SW - 21st11
CW - 11st11 (Just under bmi 27!)
GW1 - 10st11 (just under bmi 25)
GW2 - 10st 5-7 then I think I will taper.

This all feels a bit surreal. I look back to various stages of the year last year and can pinpoint vaious times at different sizes. I felt so much slimmer (I was !)when I started my new job, but, although the weight loss is so much slower now, I'm so much slimmer again than then!

My stomach is still very much round. But my boobs go out further than my stomach and I have discovered I have a waist in some clothes! It does seem like a tyre around my hips/stomach. But hoping the next stone makes that go.

I know I'm around so much less but I love reading up and hearing all the news.

My next challenge- I stopped the weights and the walking as just so full on at work (and exhausted) and I know its important.
I've started hrt too...

afaloren · 18/05/2026 22:42

Yaaaay @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden well done to you too! I look at pictures and don’t recognise myself. I remember how it felt, though. I will never forget that.

New bras, size 10 jeans, it’s all happening on this thread today! Congrats all.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 19/05/2026 09:25

I am more or less at my first jab anniversary now - 7.5 stone down! Still obese though - BMI is 30.9. Still, I started off at BMI 48!

Ahh both you are @SilenceInside were very much part of my inspiration when starting this journey at the beginning of 2024. It stopped me feeling scared and alone and look at us all now. Agreed it’s utterly surreal!

Huge congratulations to you and @afaloren for breaking the 10st loss.

Springflowers2 · 19/05/2026 10:05

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden thankyou that's so kind of you xx

Springflowers2 · 19/05/2026 10:12

I know this is a weight loss thread . apologies
,but I noticed a few people saying they also have ADHD..and I just wondered if they had similar issues..I keep feeling faint when I stand up .I'm on 54 mg of concerta xl..blood pressure was 122/70 when I went on medication, and now it's 118/67.
I've asked on nurodiverse Mumsneters and just thought I'd ask on here .
I've notified my ADHD provider..but no response
Just wondering if I should keep taking it ,or it's normal and it settles down in time ..it's all a bit new to me as I'm only on week 5 x
Thanks for reading, sorry to derail thread a bit x

TragicMuse · 19/05/2026 10:36

I don’t think I have ADHD but often get a wavy head if I stand up too quickly. Or bending over.

I suppose I’ve learned to manage it and alter how I stand up - which is carefully and not quickly. So I bring my head up more slowly.

My main thing is that if I bend over I get a horrible taste and smell in my nose and throat. It’s not sulphur burps, it’s just unpleasant. And it really only happens if I bend over. And I feel like I have a constant runny nose. I always have a hankie!

Fffreeeeezing · 19/05/2026 10:38

I may be standing still weight wise at the moment (apparently my body really likes sticking to the 16st's despite the 15's being soooo close!) but I just put some new size 16 M&S knickers on and despite them looking small, there is room to spare in them and a lot of 16/18 clothes are getting a bit too big.

Would be nice to see the 15's this week though!
