Scales were going wonky today, it first read I’d put on 3lbs and then when I re-weighed in disbelief, they said I’d lost 1.5lbs not redoing it in case they go up again

Not sure what’s happened this week - my calories are calculated at losing 2lbs a week and I lost 1.5lb and I’ve tracked every day meticulously and been to the gym. Irrationally upset because with the amount I’ve got to lose, that extra 0.5lb a week would add nearly 6 months to my weight loss timeline. Sorry for the moan, I need to give my head a wobble and be grateful I’m losing!

I think you're going to need to adjust your expectations a bit Lovely. That 2lb a week is a very generic estimate, every persons body is unique and works differently and everyone has different activity levels, there is zero ways to guarantee a specific loss per week. Sadly.

I had a week of 600 kcals a day once (the Cambridge Diet era!) and I put on a 1lb!

All you can do is keep on doing what you're doing deficit wise and trusting the process 💐

EnterSandfan · 30/06/2026 18:33

Phew, they accepted my order. I'll not stockpile again 😆

Stockpiling is ok as long as you are careful how you use it. I've got a small surplus but I am using it to increase my dose without paying for bigger pens - I would rather keep my monthly cost low even though it means paying more per dose effectively, as that makes it easier to budget. So my couple of extra 5mg pens mean I can take a 6.25mg dose but keep ordering 5mg for about 6 months. By then I should be at goal and titration down.

EnterSandfan · 01/07/2026 10:03

@RenegadeKeeblerElf ooh that's too complicated for my little brain 😆

MrTiddlesTheCat · 01/07/2026 12:05

Another 1 kg loss for me this week. Very happy with that.

SW: 135 kg
MJSW: 128.7 kg
CW: 107.7 kg
Loss: 1.0 kg
Total loss: 27.3 kg

Personally i like to stockpile so that I always have 1-2 pens unopened so that if there's shortages or sudden price hike I don't panic. But I appreciate that isn't always a financial option.

TragicMuse · 01/07/2026 14:54

I have accidentally stockpiled through use of 5th dose but ordering to the normal schedule, so have 2 unopened in the fridge! It’s a good buffer for me but I’m also aware of my privilege in being able to afford to do that.

SilenceInside · 01/07/2026 15:24

I always have two pens “in stock” and one on the go due to using the fifth dose in each pen. I don’t personally think of that as stockpiling, just a precaution in case of shortages or some other change that impacts my ability to order another prescription.

I do order about every 5 weeks, sometimes pushing it to 6 or 7, so I don’t think the pharmacy would view that as a gap in ordering.

EnterSandfan · 01/07/2026 15:39

Yeah that's what I was doing, ordering them sooner than needed and using the 5th dose but it meant I'd built up an ordering gap l, I didn't really notice because they didn't send me a reminder or anything. I liked having one or two spare in case of problems. I think I'd just order on schedule but use the 5th dose (funnily enough I mentioned I'd been doing that in my email and they never told me off, I expected them too 😆)

EnterSandfan · 01/07/2026 15:40

*on schedule from now on, I meant

TragicMuse · 01/07/2026 18:24

Bought some gorgeous bright blue linen trousers on Vinted. They’re Jigsaw and a size 12. When I opened them I thought ‘oh those are rather small.’ But they fit and I love them!

PearlsTeapot · 01/07/2026 19:30

That's exciting @TragicMuse I've had that, held up a new top and thought that'll never fit me, and then it does! Lovely NSV. Jigsaw have such nice bits.

I am worried about "Wish I was dead".

Please could you make sure that the health care professionals looking after you, and your loved ones, know you are feeling this way?

Rosetime · 01/07/2026 22:52

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , that's really crap. Please, see if you can speak with someone (therapist/counsellor). We want you to be okay.

GnomeDePlume · 02/07/2026 06:09

Weigh in and jab day

SW 140kg BMI 54.7
CW 92kg BMI 35.9
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

14 stone 5lbs in old money. It's a gain but I have had a fortnight of eating and drinking what I wanted on holiday in France.

So many NSVs from the holiday:

  • We swam every day, sometimes twice a day. No embarrassment about being in a swimming costume. I am still obese but at a 'normal' level IYSWIM.
  • We walked a lot exploring towns, markets, castles. No 'you go, I'll wait here'.
  • We explored an oppidum (Celtic fortified town) the guidebook warned that it was a steepish walk up from the car park. We walked up chatting as we went then did the long walk round the site. At no point did I look to cut it short.
  • We indulged but didnt over-indulge. Meals out tended to be a single course rather than starter, main, desert. At an 'all you can eat' mussel restaurant I discovered my limit is 2 bowls of mussels and one small bowl of chips was plenty.
  • My post-lunch dip which meant I couldnt drive after lunch was gone. I think this is a diabetes thing.
  • We drove down to the south of France, I was comfortable in the car and if I dropped something I could bend to pick it up out of the foot well.
  • I never once looked at a seat, bench, sun bed and thought 'will it hold my weight'.

Anyway, back now to normal.

Missingducks · 02/07/2026 07:49

I was coming on to moan about my month of no change (so £300 wasted) but have now read your update @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and given myself a boot up the bum to thank my lucky stars for what I do have rather than I have not lost. As someone else said, please ensure the medics know how you feel and get you help for that as well as for the physical issues. Your cats want you well and home again (and your humans, as do we).

TragicMuse · 02/07/2026 07:53

I’m so sorry @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne you must be feeling so many upsetting f and confusing things. I hope you’re stable again soon.

Ketra · 02/07/2026 08:06

Had my 40th birthday last week so had been a bit busy and hadn't had time to pop on in a few weeks.
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne so sorry to read about you not having been well. Hoping you can get the support and treatment you need (and a quicker MRI).
@PearlsTeapot Glad to see you're able to get out of hospital - I'm hoping its helped in some way for you and that you can now relax a little.
