Adding to well wishes to @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - hope that your DC have now been able to come and that you are recovering well

Woke up at 5am and was quite sure I was at home. Then wet the bed, got out and had a wee on the floor.
Finally fell backwards and banged my head. The nurses came running to my amazement because I thought I was at home. They washed me and I insisted I wasn't in Oban hospital .

Eventually I realised I was

Horrible experience

That must have been so disorientating @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne glad they got to you quickly and sorted you out. I have been in hospital when delirious (not as serious as a stroke though) and it was very peculiar indeed.

Hopefully the medication will begin to take effect and you start to see improvements soon. And that you get to go to the hospital that's nearer to home too. FlowersFlowersFlowers

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne sending love and best wishes for a speedy recovery and for a to the hospital closest to your family. What an awful time for you xx

afaloren · 18/06/2026 18:38

Dropped down to below 90kg this morning. Still a ways to go but I weigh a chunk less than DH for the first time in a long time! DH is taller so it’s as it should be.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I’m glad you are being well looked after. Only update us if and when you feel up to it, we’re all pulling for you Flowers

Motnight · 18/06/2026 18:53

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne just popping in to give you my very best wishes.

EverybodysALebowski · 18/06/2026 19:20

Oh dear Broon stay put and recuperate!!!! We're all sending our love and care

GeraldThePufferSponge · 18/06/2026 20:30

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
So sorry to hear that - take care of yourself and hopefully you’ll be back on your feet soon.

2.5lb off for me this week, so I’m pleased. Struggling to hit my protein target within my calories though! There’s only so much yoghurt, chicken and protein shakes I can shove down my throat

PearlsTeapot · 18/06/2026 21:12

@GeraldThePufferSponge I never hit my target, I just do my best. I rely on protein drinks (clear whey) for a 20g gram protein hit on bad days.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne sending love xxx

Onenotsosmallstep · 18/06/2026 21:28

Oh @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne we’re all rooting for you.

Doggymummar · 18/06/2026 22:53

I hope you are getting the treatment you need @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne it sounds scary

eibbed999 · 19/06/2026 08:34

Hope you're okay @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - sounds like a scary experience, and I hope you continue to get well looked after by the medical team and your family x

They now think it's a cerebellar stroke
Symptoms come and go
One minute I'm normal then I get unable to walk without the nurses and very dizzy and incredibly sleepy. Speech becomes slurred.

Hoping to be tran̈referred to the hospital 15 miles from my house; but there's no bed ATM.

At least there I'll get some visitors.

DD and DH are coming up here tomorrow morning. DH is frantic with worry so he obviously still cares about me .

Oh you poor sweetheart..I'm so sorry
Thank goodness you are safe in hospital and moving near home and visitors coming.
Please keep us updated xxx

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/06/2026 11:45

DD2 sent these pics of the cats this morning

Send my best wishes as well @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , that all sounds very disorienting and scary. I hope they are able to move you nearer home soon and that you get on the mend.

I put on this week so have thrown caution to the wind and increased my dose to 5mg from 4.5mg. I expect I will regret it later but no commitments for a few days so will have to ride it out if needed.

TragicMuse · 19/06/2026 14:31

I hope you get closer to home soon Broon.

I have slightly rising apprehension about WI tomorrow as I haven’t weighed all week. And my nutracheck decided to reset my calorie target to 1460 a day which wasn’t what I intended at all! Fortunately I have been below that and closer to the 1250 I expected so should be fine. But weird all the same. Wish me luck for tomorrow morning!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/06/2026 17:29

Yay! Am being moved to the much nearer hospital at last.
Just waiting for transport.

Will now hopefully get visitors..
So happy

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne such good news that you can move nearer home. Hopefully the medication will do the trick and they can figure out how to get you well again. Thinking of you

AlicesMum2025 · 19/06/2026 17:45

@RenegadeKeeblerElf I know what you mean about wedding invites. We went to one this past weekend and for the first time in over a decade I was actually able to choose what I wanted to wear, not just whatever I could find that fitted, and I felt good in it. Plus it was a bargain on Vinted £11!!!

@AlicesMum2025 you look stunning in that outfit! That's the sort of thing I dream of wearing.

Looking totally fabulous!

Castlebark · 19/06/2026 18:03

@AlicesMum2025 stunning outfit!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne so pleased to hear the positive developments.

Can I ask if anyone has had issues with their skin on MJ? I'm having terrible breakouts on my face, like I've eaten 50 chocolate bars! I wonder if it's all the dairy I'm eating for extra protein?

Yes!!!! I have never seen anywhere that it is a problem, but I have NEVER had bad skin. Not even as a teenager and here I am now with the worst skin on my face I have ever had!!! No matter what I do with it. Nothing seems to work or last a long time.

Good news about the move @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne.

I’ve had the reverse, I’ve never had good skin and now I do, but I’ve also put a lot more effort (and money!) into it as I’m trying to take better care of myself generally. My hair though is a mess, I’ll be lucky if I have any left by the time I’m finished.

Billybingbong · 19/06/2026 19:07

@AlicesMum2025 absolutely stunning, and what a bargain!

@user593 same here. My skin looks really clear and healthy, but my hair is another story altogether, I've lost tons of it. I've been using Minoxidil since January, and its finally showing small signs of improvement, thankfully!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne so happy to hear you're being moved closer to home, and are showing signs of improvement. I really hope your recovery is a quick one x
