I don't mind daily weighing, I don't react emotionally to the number on the scales.

From a practical point of view I value knowing how my weight changes day to day. I've done it for a long time (all the way through my 11months on MJ, and 7st loss) and have not shown this pattern until the last month. Often I will see a random gain (or two) in the week, usually linked to eating carbs, but these are random, not in the current 4 days loss, 3 days gain that I'm now seeing. I suspect it's because my BMI is approaching healthy, so less to lose.

I think i probably undereat after a weekly jab day so over eat (but healthy food) later in the week. That's exactly why I'm moving to daily jabs - I want to find consistency without getting into a habit of eating when I'm not hungry, which is exactly how I ended up morbidly obese in the first place!

Hopefully if I don't have the big MJ surge once a week, instead have consistent levels with daily micro amounts, it will lead to more consistent appetite. Thats the plan anyway. I want to eat intuitively, only when I need to, but in a healthy, consistent way. Getting used to what that might look like at healthy BMI is part of my journey.

Normal. I’m normal. Had a little cry this morning.

That's amazing @Onenotsosmallstep - the absolute stuff of dreams! Well done you x

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 14/06/2026 18:17

@Fffreeeeezing Wahoooo both for the scales detox and the 10 stone coming up!! My weight loss got to 10stone and then decided it was clearly time to slow right down! I'm v glad that being on this thread all this time and seeing @SilenceInside In particular I followed in those early days I realised that was normal (if not frustrating!)

Its so strange getting used to a different body isn't it. My hospital trip made me realise just how differently we get used to being/ taking up space/ looking for the chair/ being treated. I still can't quite comprehend how much has changed. And yet.... I'm very aware I'm still overweight / round stomach!.

I never thought this would be possible. Its going to be a long term expense I think. I had hoped to be cutting down by now... but... hopefully one day it will be cheaper.

Oh JFC @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , I am very glad that you are in hospital and being seen. I hope there is someone there with you, DD or DS?

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne sending good wishes your way, hope you get some answers soon and are feeling better.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 14/06/2026 18:51

Oh no @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , I hope you get some answers and are soon on the mend.

i have to daily weigh, i tend to catastrophise if not and assume the worst case scenario, which demotivates me. This week I’ve really struggled with feeling the need to reward myself with food - old behaviours and depressing they come back with such ease. I am trying to increase my dose, clearly needed, but it’s a constant battle with the gastritis pain so I can’t do it quickly. Have done 3 weeks on 4.5( from 4.25), have something on next week but will try 4.75 (again) I think after that. After 13 months I am sure I need to be on 5mg if not higher. Weight loss has really slowed since I hit 7 stone loss but with a BMI at 32.5 there’s still a way to go.

Billybingbong · 14/06/2026 19:35

Oh @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I really hope that isn't so, and you are recovering and home very soon. Ffs universe, give this lady a break 😤

PearlsTeapot · 14/06/2026 19:45

Can someone remind me how you work out clicks? I want to take 25 out of a 10 pen. 24 was 4mg.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I'm wishing you all the best and hope you aren't alone. Keep us updated, I'm thinking of you. xxx

SilenceInside · 14/06/2026 20:08

@PearlsTeapot can you clarify what dose in mg you want out of the 10mg pen? Or, do you mean you want to take 25 clicks, and want to know what that is in mg from a 10mg pen?

Springflowers2 · 14/06/2026 20:09

Sending love @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
Your in the best place for help xx

SilenceInside · 14/06/2026 20:29

@PearlsTeapot I think you’re asking what dose 25 clicks from a 10mg pen would be. If so, then it would be 4.17 mg.

Billybingbong · 14/06/2026 20:30

@EverybodysALebowski I'm really cross with myself now, because I sent my lovely hand knitted cardigan to the charity shop last week. It just didn't occur to me to frog it and re-make it in a smaller size, FFS I am so stupid sometimes!

@Onenotsosmallstep how fabulous, huge congrats 👏 . You must be overjoyed x

@PositiveAttitude well done on getting below your MIL's barrier (said very tongue in cheek, as I too have one of those MIL's. I don't think she's ever paid me a single compliment in the 30 years I've been married)

@PearlsTeapot I have everything crossed you'll soon be home lovely 💐

I hope everyone's having a lovely weekend. We're away for a few days, and I've been out today in shorts! Wobbly thighs, jiggly belly, whatever, who cares, cos I don't. Who do I think I am?? 🤣

TragicMuse · 14/06/2026 21:20

OMG @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne that must be a shock for you. I hope you’re being well looked after.

PearlsTeapot · 14/06/2026 21:31

Thanks both! Yes 4.17 sounds about right. Going to go slooooowly back up to 5, 1 click at a time, for 2 weeks each time.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/06/2026 22:42

Well, one good thing happened today (before everything went tit's up)

I've finally got to 10st 2lb, which means I've lost 10st!

Yaaaay! Now I need to start maintenance. Which I will when I get out of hospital.

Yes, the nurses and doctors are all very kind.
The only trouble is that my DC can't visit because there's no buses which go from my village to Oban.
Still, the DC are busy looking after my cats.
