@MrsKurz
i think for me any method of weight loss can be up and down varying from week to week and often when I think I’ve cut back the calories the weight loss that week can often take another week to show on the scales.
The hot weather can result in fluid retention and our hormones play a part. WLI don’t melt away the pounds still requires a level of restraint meal planning/calorie counting mindfulness of what we eat and our activity.
Controlling food intake has always been more useful than increasing exercise for my weight loss.
The hardest thing is wanting faster/bigger losses when the weight went on slowly over the years

MrsKurz · 24/07/2026 16:11

Just had a call with my doctor through my clinic and she’s not worried. She said as I’ve just started going to the gym 2-3 times a week it’s totally normal to have a slow down in weight loss as muscles will be retaining water, but to keep going anyway and trust that the body recomposition is happening at the same time.

so I’ll stick on 0.75mg for another month and have another appointment to review. Oh and add in a protein shake in the afternoon to try and curb snacking.

dodgeThePot · 26/07/2026 12:33

week 10update
I should’ve taken dose 10 yesterday but delayed until later today 0.5mg
weight this morning 11st 4lb
so a 2lb loss on the first 0.5mg dose

Did feel slight nausea after upping doses at the beginning of the week and have felt fuller for longer resulting in making my meals smaller and less appetite for sure.
Think that’s why I delayed this weeks dose as I’m feeling the suppression so much more.
Future goal is only to go down to 11st I’m quite happy at that weight at my height and happy to be back in most of my wardrobe.

I’m out for Sunday lunch soon and looking forward to that having had banana berries and yogurt for breakfast which I now wish I’d skipped as I still feel full!

Hope everyone is having a good week too

MerryDeer · 27/07/2026 14:06

I went up to 1mg last week after a couple of weeks on 0.75mg. The move from 0.5 to 0.75 was fine but I’ve had a lot more side effects on the 1mg, going to go back down to 0.75 for the foreseeable future as the nausea, diarrhoea and indigestion are just not worth it! Went out for a lovely dinner and could hardly eat a thing! 0.75 seems to be the sweet spot for now.

dodgeThePot · 27/07/2026 16:30

@MerryDeer
hope you soon feel better once you drop down the dosage

Thank you! I had a feeling moving up to 1mg was going to be hard. I need to learn to take things a bit slower! I will delay my next dose too I think. Hope you enjoyed your Sunday lunch and the 0.5 is still going well for you!

MrsKurz · 29/07/2026 12:09

@MerryDeer interedting, I’m also sticking at 0.75mg for now, I haven’t tried moving up to 1mg although I’m starting to notice less effect at 0.75. I’ve been lucky and not had any negative side effects yet, so I hope that maybe if I do move up it’ll be ok.

Proteinpudding · 29/07/2026 12:17

@dodgeThePot I think we're at a similar stage, I'm around week 10 and it's the second week since I increased my dose to 0.5. it's weird because if you asked me if I had a good week last week I would have said no, because I felt like I was giving in to sweet treats more, but I track my calories and overall they dropped since the new dose. I've started losing again after a stall.
I've lost 6kg so far, honestly I thought that would be noticeable and it really isn't! I can tell my jeans are more comfortable but I think my goal weight might be a little lower than I expected.

aaahshoot · 29/07/2026 22:37

Wow, I can’t believe everyone’s having so much success but also side effects on the low doses. I’ve just done my first jab of 1.7 mg. I have moved up a dose every four weeks and have lost 10 lb in 12 weeks - but lost nothing in the last two weeks (a plateau!) so was keen to go up again. Been very lucky with barely any side effects. also thinking my progress is quite slow, but I’m happy as long as i start losing slowly again, to try and avoid the baggy skin on arms etc?

FeelTheBurn · 30/07/2026 06:01

@aaahshoot i think your view re skin is spot on I’m starting to see some mild laxity and I’m keen to avoid it.

SW 82.5kg (beginning May)
CW 71.8kg (on 6th 0.5mg jab)
GW 63kg

after saying I needed to drink more as I wasn’t thirsty I got a uti 🙄0.5mg is def giving me stronger side effects but the scale is moving so on balance I'm ok with it.

any tips for keeping up water intake gratefully received - and thank you to whomever used my Voy link as we both got a discount ☺️ I’ll stick with them for now as I like the app link to a clinician. (Handy with how to manage the uti!)

Strange you should say that.....my sweet cravings have come back with a vengeance since I increased to .5 3 weeks ago. But when I cave and eat the naughtys I can only manage a couple of bites...I really can't resist, but when I get it I can't eat it. Anybody else found this?

dodgeThePot · Yesterday 12:16

Update today
I stretched my 11th dose and took a day later again
so 0.5mg Week 11
SW 12st 7lb
CW 11st 3lb (BMI 24.6)
Weekly loss 1lb
GW 11st

Have felt some nausea at times this week feeling fuller after meals for longer. Think I need to reduce my portions sometimes. I have a habit of thinking a full plate of salad/veg (with protein) is no issue and I’ll eat until I clear the plate when really I don’t need it all!
Think it’s a relic of past weight watchers zero points who remembers that diet ?
constipation issues a couple of times as well.
But mainly a good week though my activity levels are way down I’m on school holidays it’s been hot and I’ve been totally chilling. I do no formal exercise which I need to address usually my daily on my feet all day job keeps my activity levels up.

Thinking ahead I may do another 0.5mgs for month 4 and hopefully reach target 11st before dropping down dose in month 5.

Anyone with discount codes as I shop around for next supplier ?

@MrsO2b
@Proteinpudding

same as you I still have small sweet cravings which I succumb to but much less than I previously would have.
Afternoon cuppa for me has to have a biscuit with it 🤣I’ve also had ice cream but on balance my eating is much more in control and healthy

You're really good. ....no way could I have just 1 biscuit! 😂

Proteinpudding · Yesterday 13:01

Same, I seem to be drawn to chocolate frequently, but I'm eating less of it overall, and less in my meals as well. It's been a while since I've had a family sized bag of minstrels 😂

@dodgeThePot Im with Voy so will have a referral code for them but not sure how much it'll save as they tend to be one of the more expensive I think. Feel free to pm if you want it though.

FeelTheBurn · Yesterday 13:55

good update! You’re nearly there :)

I’m def getting the urge to have sweet treats. I actually thought I’d gone so long without that I wouldn’t fancy them anymore. Although I’m finding grapes and strawberries satisfy it and taste better than choc which seems too sweet now!

dodgeThePot · Yesterday 14:24

Thanks to all those who’ve got discount codes
I’ve already used Med Express/Farmeci & Bolt
I’ll take a look at prices in the next week

And sadly my biscuit /cuppa breaks aren’t just one biscuit ! Never have been 🤣custard creams my downfall

MrsKurz · Yesterday 20:27

@dodgeThePot custard creams are my absolute favourite biscuit!! The difference now I can have 1-2 and be satisfied, or resist all together.

weight loss for me is still slow but moving, I’d estimate an average of 1lb a week? I think I’m about 7.5kg down now, and like someone else said I thought it would be more noticeable than it is. But I still have about 14.5kg to my goal weight of 60kg, so we’ll see when I finally get there how I feel. I’m thinking it’s probably going to take me until next year at this rate, but when I started I said I don’t care if it takes a year as long as I get there!

still going strong with the gym though and feeling myself getting stronger which is super motivating, and know I might be retaining more fluid for a few months with my increase in activity.

dodgeThePot · Today 08:57

@MrsKurz
You’re doing great …..every loss is a loss however small
And even stalling is better than a gain !
making small changes all help for future maintenance
if we can just have a couple of biscuits or resist it’s better long term than cutting out entirely. So long as the majority of our diet is well balanced healthy and nutritious.
well done on the commitment to gym and exercise 👏🏻as well.
Are you noticing clothes feel looser now even if your loss isn’t as noticeable as you’d wish for ?

dodgeThePot · Today 09:02

@FeelTheBurn
Agreed summer berries are so much better tasting than a bar of chocolate these days
However I’m spending a small fortune on them my delivery of 3 punnets barely last a couple of days!
