New thread!

Feel like the old thread has been quiet recently so let’s kick off by sharing our NSVs…

Mine is finally retiring a pair of jeans that looked comically big on me. They were too tight to wear at the start of MJ. And also my youngest asked me why my top was ‘hanging’ the other day which made me laugh and think I really do need to get shopping.

I’m sure this has been asked and answered but what is everyone’s goal weight and BMI equivalent? How do you decide?

I’ve selected 60kg/ 9 1/2 stone/BMI 22 which is the lightest I’ve been as an adult, in my twenties so a long time ago. I remember being happy to play cricket on the beach in a not hugely substantial bikini at that weight. Though I’m considerably droopier and wobblier now!

Current hovering around the 66kg mark which is the lightest I’ve been since pre kids, and is 3 stone off.

Edited

Started just over 12 stone and now around 8 stone/8 stone 1 (50/51kg), BMI is just over 19. My original target was 9 stone, which I think is around BMI 22ish IIRC. My lowest weight I remember previously was 8 stone 5 when I was 22, but my normal weight before DC was 8 stone 10-13. I got down to this around age 30 for about 10 years. Then lock down hit and it all went wrong, plus probably hormones on top. Just kept putting weight on, losing a bit for specific occasions but not all of it, and kept on that cycle.

Only reason I went lower is because I felt like I could and I love the weight I am now. Its strange though as I dont feel that small but when I see photos I look tiny, I feel like ita not me and the camera angle.

I’ve reached my target which is just under 66kg and my bmi is 22.3.

I decided on my target by looking back to a time I looked a happy healthy slim weight in photos then checking what my approximate weight was around that time.

i am now a 10-12 in places like M&S, Crew, Next. I think any lower would be aging.

NSV wore a bikini without covering up with shorts for a spa day last week, I repeat the thighs were out!

we’ve had a glut of birthdays over the last 3 weeks and weekends away so food choices not always been healthy and there’s been a lot of cake, weighed today and I’ve gained 2lb in a month so looking forward to some normality now the cakes have been eaten and the kids are back to school.

Ive been eating more bean based dishes and discovered bold beans co which are delicious, so trying to up fibre.

i did try collagen but i didn’t like the taste, a friend said to try it in coffee so i need to work my way up to trying it again as it would be a great way to up the protein, i do prefer drinking my cals/protein in the morning as its easier on my tummy.

so hopefully losing this 2lb soon and continuing to maintain! I’ve definitely not drank enough the last week so that’s on my list of things to tick off each day!

How is everyone doing? Almost time for a one year stock take. Although I actually didn’t start to closer to the end of November.

I think I’d hoped I’d be closer to goal by now, but it’s been a difficult year for other reasons so I’m glad to just be plodding along but now in to a ‘healthy’ bmi range.

I’d be interested in a roll call of who’s still here, who’s at goal, who’s got a way to go etc.

I’m still on 5mg, and I need to really watch what I’m eating to keep losing, which on balance is probably a better approach rather than upping the dose. Appetite (or lack of) stays pretty much the same but if there’s been a run of social events and food quality hasn’t been good I’m plateauing or even gaining slightly. But it is tempting to up a dose just to shift that last stone!

I’m still here! I started at the end of November and have lost a smidge under 53kg, but for the last month I haven’t lost anything. I seem to have hit a wall, and I don’t think I’m eating much more or worse so I’m a bit stumped. I’m currently on 7.5mg but I think I might move up to 10mg next time. I have 25kg to go to reach my goal of 70kg and I think this last 25kg is going to be a hard slog 😅

Hi, still here! Still jabbing, i only intended on doing it to lose the weight but have been at goal since March, in fact lost over another stone since. Lost 4 stone and 3 lbs, from 12st 2 to 7st 13, BMI 19.2.

Off on my first proper holiday next week, a cruise so will be interesting to see how it goes. I will jab on Wednesday then wont jab till we're back 10 days later. I was going to take one with me but I am thinking maybe not, it won't hurt to put on a few lbs really as I am probably a bit on the low side.

I can't imagine coming off mounjaro now, it makes life so much easier and I love being able to wear what I want. My appetite is low so really i could do with eating more but healthier.

You have done brilliantly throughout, hopefully its a temporary plateau for you.

I'm sure you have, but have you rechecked your TDEE recently? It reduces so much quite quickly.

Thank you! I haven’t been calorie counting (I have a tendency to obsess so I don’t think it’s good for me) although I have a rough idea and I’ve probably been eating less than I should (less than 1,000 most days, but definitely the odd higher day here and there) which may be problem. I’ve also not been drinking enough. There’s definitely room for improvement!

You’ve done amazingly! Are you progressing down dose wise or stayed where you were?

Yeah I can be a bit obsessive too but being on MJ helped as I was never hungry so was counting to ensure I ate enough so mentally was different I guess.

I would maybe calculate, always put a bit less exercise in than you actually do as it over eggs it, then maybe just track for a week to get a good idea. I have never found that eating not enough means I stall but it definitely is the case for some people. And yes definitely increase the water!! I find on the weeks I eat cleaner, higher protein etc I lose more.

I went up to 3.75mg at the highest then have stuck around 2-2.5mg, I probably need to reduce a bit more but wanted to stay on track through the summer and maybe I will till after xmas now, then will try to go to 1.25mg.

Yes, I think that is one of the issues, whilst I am likely under my TDEE I am not eating as cleanly as I was (bit of lost enthusiasm perhaps, and I also found the summer holidays exhausting as I have two small boys) and definitely not drinking as much as I was. I’m sure I’ll figure it out. I am happy and hopeful and trying not to let it get me down (I didn’t come this far to stop now!!!) ☺️

That’s good to hear. I’m was hoping not to go as high as I have but I had/ have so much to lose I’m not surprised I’ve ended up on 7.5mg (and soon 10mg) but definitely hoping to edge back down as I get closer to goal. I need to get better at going to the gym.

The enthusiasm with clean eating definitely wears off! I was so into it at first but am pretty rubbish now. I do feel better when I eat well though.

I started at the end of November last year as well, so 10 months on Mounjaro.
I have reached my goal weight and been stable at it in the last probbaly 6 to 8 weeks, BMI gone from over 35 to 24.5 now.
I stayed mostly on 2.5mg Mounjaro the entire time but did briefly go to 5mg for a while on the 2nd pen until I relaised I was doing fine on the 2.5mg.
Never had any significant side effects, I have now taken my final jab 10 days ago,
it's going to be interesting now to see what happens, so far I have no food noise and feel no different than I have since I started Mounjaro but I suppose it's still in my system at a low level.
Will I get any crazy bout of hunger or cravings soon? I just don't know but time will tell, I hope I am finished with the jabs forever now, not that it was a problem, it became just a weekly routine I could live with and could continue with but I want to see if I can do without it now.

snowfire1 · Today 03:20

I should have said,
SW 118kgs
GW 85kgs
CW 86kgs
I was 85. something one morning but I'm happy where I am at now, I have no pens left so it's cold turkey from here, 10 days in now and still feeling great.

user593 · Today 09:48

@snowfire1 Well done, you’ve done amazing! Hopefully the food noise won’t return for you.

I weighed today after a few days of not weighing as I was getting a bit fed up of yoyo-ing between 95-96kg and I’m 94.2kg today! Finally feel like I’m making some progress but hopefully I break through 94kg soon rather than hovering around it for three weeks again 😅
