New thread 😀 in the nick of time

I found that when I wore clothes that fitted me properly that people started commenting. All my friends have made lovely comments. Although I'm a little worried about a friend that says I look so good and then strokes my earlobes 😆

No one at work has mentioned anything but I've lost and gained weight before so they are probably being polite.

Lets hope it stays with just your earlobes ! 😂

Aside from that , well done of the comments it must be a nice boost for you .

2026istheyear2 · 13/05/2026 12:03

Loads of people have commented now as it’s very obvious as I’m now 52 pounds down. Some people have said “I hope you don’t mind me saying” and I have always responded that I am delighted for them to tell me (who doesn’t want to hear that they look great 🤣) but I appreciate their caution as not everyone is. I tell everyone I’m on MJ as I’m quite evangelical about what a life changing drug it is. Had my cholesterol tested last week and now measures are all in the normal range 🎉 and my blood pressure is perfect! My skin is also the best it has been for years and people have been commenting on that too.

I saw a weight starting with a 12 this morning for the first time in many years so agree how exciting that new stone bracket is!

I jab on a Friday night (occasionally a Saturday if I am out very late Friday) purely as I decided to start on 2 Jan and ordered and collected the jab that day and wanted to get on with it. Suits me with max suppression being Mon-Thu usually. I have now been on 5mg for a couple of weeks and seem to have a new pattern of one week of a small loss of 1 pound or less followed by around 3 pounds off the next week.

Perianth · 13/05/2026 13:59

@Hettar are your earlobes looking particularly slender? 😂

I'm a Sunday morning jabber. I like not having to rush it before work, and as I've been fortunate enough not to experience any side effects, jabbing on Sunday allows me to have a slightly more relaxed weekend, then get right back to it by Monday morning.

I'm now 50% of the way to achieving my goal weight! I've shed a grand total of 43 lbs which seems utterly astonishing.

Very few comments, though I don't see many people (I work from home). New, better fitting clothes definitely make it more noticeable though. I have bought a few new summery items, so once the weather finally warms up, I feel it will be more evident. Regardless of whether or not it is noticed though, I definitely feel so much better in myself and so much more energetic!

My ears are not particularly great but they do have some peach fuzz that he seems to like.

0.6 kg loss for me this week. Still sticking to 2.5 mg.

SW: 135 kg
CW: 111.8 kg
Total loss: 23.2 kg

notcomfortable · 13/05/2026 18:10

I'm so jealous of everyone's big loss
I have only lost 13kg
My weight has not changed in 3 weeks but my hair is falling out so much now. Really fed up with it

Aw notcomfortable, chin up!

13kg is a great loss, this isn't a competition or a race!

Every fraction of a kg lost is a little step closer to being who you want to be, and just like everybody's stride differs due to leg length etc everybody's loss will be different too.

At the end of the day though it's still a loss and that's what counts.

Have a hug 🤗🤗

Maybe post up your stats and a couple of your eating plans? I'm sure there will be some of us who can dissect them for you and offer advice. (Not me, I'm rubbish at tracking and counting!)

In the meantime try not to lose heart - you've come this far, you just need a bit of oomph to get moving again xx

FrothyCothy · 13/05/2026 19:40

Re: comments, my mum spend last weekend saying how much weight DH had lost - not a whisper about me 🤣

8books · 13/05/2026 21:17

@notcomfortable that’s 29lbs you’ve lost!! That’s a huge amount when you try to pick it up. Well done!!

I’ve had several comments on my weight loss, as well as some probing about WLI. Obviously I just extol the virtues of protein shakes for lunch and a bit of exercise 😂 Only DH knows about my MJ and I will never let anyone else know ha!! Nosey buggers 🤣

P.s. I’ve noticed my weight loss is coming off my face too. I’ve actually got the start of cheekbones. Love it. I’m on HRT patches so I think that impacts where the fat comes off (thankfully I’ve kept the same bra size so far).

I went up through the doses for MJ (upto 5mg) and had very, very little to no side effects at all on MJ. I had had some appetite suppression in the beginning, which just switched off my interest in food.

I took my first dose of WG 1mg last Thurs (so, due another dose tomo) and I can eat, but get nauseous if I eat "too much" or the wrong thing.

I've now already a list of foods I can't eat/have an aversion to, including oranges and chewing gum. I think these could have produced stomach acid or something as wasn't well after.

Also, now can't eat greasy/oily foods. Seems to upset my stomach.

I can only eat little and often, as the slowing my digestion is defo more apparent using WG vs MJ for me. At least for the moment. Maybe will settle down in time.

I am still eating fine but noticed I drink alot more water (and I'd be very minimal water person). Body is looking for water.

I did weight myself a few days after taking the first dose and was down 2 lbs, which never happened on MJ. Again, could be something that settles.

I was crazy thirsty when I started wegovy, couldn't get enough water into me. That settled after a few weeks. I am a big water drinker anyway, so the increase was crazy

FrostyFlo · 13/05/2026 10:15

Are people noticing your weight loss and commenting ?
I still have loads ( stones ) to go and whilst my dh says there is definitely less of me I've yet to have any friends say anything even though 1 or 2 know I'm dieting ( haven't told them wli ) and its 39lb to date .
What's being said to you ?

Im getting lots of comments. I have been for a while now. Its quite obvious how much weight I've lost - 15.3 kilos seems quite obvious on my 165cm frame

13kg is loads

Hettar · 14/05/2026 14:44

Week 19 update

Dosage: 3.75 MJ
SW: 17 10 lbs
CW: 14 st 2lbs
GW: 11 st
Total loss: 50 lbs

I've revised my GW down from 12 st to 11 st. I'll be on the meds for a quite a while and I want some breathing room in case I put weight when titrating down.

I'm going to start weight lifting next week. I really should have started earlier but I was scared of aggravating my shoulder and knee.

Great hearing about people losses.

I’ve only lost 11kg. But it’s still a huge amount, so we should both be happy. Nobody has really noticed (except family), so I’m hoping the use of WLI is less obvious.

is there something you can change to get things moving again? Or move up a dose? I stopped losing on 5mg and moved up to 7.5 which seems to be helping a bit. I’d also been taking psyllium husk because of awful constipation at the start. But despite being told it shouldn’t work agains the jabs, I think it was. Since I’ve stopped taking them I’m feeling much less hungry. Although weight loss is still sloooooow.

Wow very well done , that's a fantastic loss .

bookwormcrazy · 15/05/2026 08:57

Weigh day for me. After a few weeks of being up and down with not much movement, I have finally had a good week and lost 3.5 lbs.

SW - 15st 13lbs
CW - 13st 6lbs
GW - 10st 7lbs

Loss so far - 2st 7lbs

I am really starting to feel the hunger on the 5mg but for the minute I am going to try and embrace it and not go up to remove it while I’m still loosing a little bit each week. That may change soon though but I have a pen in hand so could always do a few weeks at 6.25.

@notcomfortableyou have done amazing. I have only lost a couple of kg more but I would rather lose it slower and feel a bit more sensible about my body and it be able to cope with the changes better.

goldylock · 15/05/2026 09:13

My brain no comprendo why any weight loss is not deemed as impressive!

Its such a difficult thing to do -affected by hormones, illnesses, slower metabolisms, etc, esp as we get older. So all losses are battles. 20 old me, who had the metabolism of a Ferrari, wouldn't have believed older me on this.

Also, some people have larger amounts to lose and so lose more. Some are nearer their goal, and it does make achieving losses even harder.

GreenLemonade · 15/05/2026 10:22

My weigh in day is Monday but I randomly stepped on the scale today and I'm no longer overweight! I can't quite believe it, I haven't had a normal BMI for at least 15 years, if not more.

Or I could simply be dehydrated and the weigh will come back in a few days🫣😅 But if this reading is correct then I have less than a stone to go!

Onbdy · 15/05/2026 13:34

Weigh day for me too. I lost 2 pounds this week, 39 pounds in total. The hunger is coming back and my weight loss over the past few weeks has been lower. I still want to lose another 3 stones so I have bought a 7.5mg pen. I will move up to 6.25mg next week, My next goal is to lose another 7 pounds and be in the next stone bracket for my holiday in 5 weeks time. I also want to be comfortably in a size 14. I can get my size 14 trousers on but it’s a squeeze. I’m short so losing another 7 pounds should make that happen.

goldylock · 15/05/2026 13:42

I started at 14 stone in Jan 26.

Last weighed myself 3 weeks ago was 13 stone 4.

Second dose of WG last night. And weighed myself this morning.

Bang on 13 stone. 14 whole pounds 😀😀😀.

Had an ice cream there to celebrate 🤣.

It only took 4.5 months and a switch from MJ to WG.

Next target is to get into the 12s.

Overall target is 12 stone.

FrothyCothy · 15/05/2026 20:24

Totally lost the plot these last two days, feels as if I injected water for all the suppression I’ve had. Hopefully next dose will be more effective.

I think there’s something in this. I had no comments for ages but I was wearing a raincoat with no waist up until recently. I started wearing a fitted jacket and the comments started coming! I had a lovely comment from a neighbour this week when she was walking past, she said I’d lost loads of weight and was looking great, which was a boost!

SW: 14 st 5 lbs
CW: 11 st 1lb
(height 5’6”)

I’m still on 2.5 MJ (from a 5mg pen) as it’s working well for me. WL has slowed down, but that’s to be expected at this stage I think. I’m still exercising most days and feeling great! My jab day has varied by a couple of days for various reasons - including forgetting it! I think I could go longer than a week really.

glutenisthedevil · 17/05/2026 08:31

I had to move my jab day last week because of an event so Sunday is now my new Saturday. Only 1lb loss this week and I feel like the scales are taunting me. I'm only 1.5lbs away from moving from obese to overweight and I really want to get there as it's the first milestone weight I'm aiming for. Hopefully next week 🤞

I've been contemplating increasing my dose slightly up to 4mg but I am still having decent suppression and the weight is still coming off. I'll probably give it another week and see if I have a whoosh on the scales before deciding.

Off now to order another pen...

Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Perianth · 17/05/2026 11:00

Thought I'd mix it up a bit this week and inject in my thigh for a change. Oof! I have the hide of an elephant there. Back to my soft belly next week!

Another 1.6lbs off this week. That makes 43.9lbs (or 19.87kg) in total. 525 of the way to my target. Keep going all, we're getting there!

Lovingtheglitter · 17/05/2026 15:42

I have been on mounjaro for 17 weeks now and am on 5mg. Minimal side effects and am losing well. I think I am having a woosh week this week as I don’t weigh until a Monday and when I weighed myself on Friday I had dropped 6 ibs which is a lot. I usually lose between 1-2 lbs a week for context. I have been really dizzy this week when bending over or squatting and then standing up. It go so bad I had to stay bending over as I thought I would faint. I have been checking my blood pressure daily this week and it’s normal for me. I am having a lot of suppression this week in particular and eating a main meal around 6pm and not much before but still drinking peppermint tea and water quite a bit. I’m thinking I’m not eating enough and that is why I’m feeling dizzy - do you lovely people think it could be that?
