Oh @bookwormcrazy I’m so sorry. What you are facing must be incredibly difficult and of course, your priorities are with your husband. I hope the time you have left together is full of love and peace. Take good care of yourself and I hope you will still pop by to see us now and then.

2026istheyear2 · 28/06/2026 20:41

@bookwormcrazy just take it a day at a time if you can. I went through this with my late husband 10 years ago (I was 43) and I swung from eating a whole cake someone brought round just after he died to then not being able to eat. Thinking of you - I always told myself to just keep getting up every morning and to go for a walk in nature and that helped me but we all have different coping mechanisms. I hope you have a lot of support around you.

For those that started in Jan ( this is wk. 25 for me ) so most of us are around the 6 month mark . How much have you lost ?
It's 46lb for me and I've easily got the same still to go .
How much have you still to go ? and those at target how are you doing ?

Started 2 Jan at 16st 9 and have lost 64 pounds. Have about a stone to go and will then see how I feel!

Hi everyone! So pleased to hear about how well everyone is doing.

I have lost 3 st which is amazing, especially as things have been so up in the air this year. It has definitely not gone to plan. Unfortunately it’s about to get even worse so I will probably be just using up the pens I have and then miserably put on all the weight I have lost by comfort eating and drowning my sorrows. I can’t be on a diet watching what I eat while I am trying to make the best of the time left my husband has.

sorry to bring down the tone of the thread. I will be watching though to see you all achieve your goals. 🥰

I have been wondering how you and your husband were doing
I am ever so sorry Flowers life can be so cruel, be kind to yourself xx

Wishing you and DH peace and happiness in the time you have left xx

Sharing in the support of you @bookwormcrazy. Whatever you need to do to get through the day is the most important thing. And we’ll be here when you pop back in 💐

GreenLemonade · 29/06/2026 12:44

I’m so sorry @bookwormcrazy, take care of yourself.

Adding to the stats on this thread: I’ve lost 47lb / 21kg since 12th January. I’m 6lb away from goal weight but I think I want to go about 5lb lower and then maintain within a 5lb range. My BMI is now 23.5 which is incredible.

June was a slow month for me, I was on holidays for almost 2 weeks where I basically ate and drank whatever I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised to see I maintained weight in that time. I’m back on it now with a 1lb loss this last week. I’m happy for weight loss to slow down now, I was pushing hard for this holiday but I want to relax a bit over the summer.

I'm scared of maintenance, it seems like everything I read tells me regain is inevitable so it feels a bit doom and gloom. I can’t quite wrap my head around staying on MJ long term. I can afford it but it was never part of the plan. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet.

Onbdy · 29/06/2026 13:02

@GreenLemonade I worry about that too. Not that I’m there yet but I have read about people regaining all the weight they’ve lost plus more. 😬 Surely if we have changed our eating habits then that shouldn’t happen? There’s no way I can afford much more than another 6 months on MJ.
I was on holiday last week so haven’t weighed. I know I didn’t eat as much as I normally would but I probably had around another 200-300 calories than I usually have, including a few glasses of wine. I’m hoping to have maintained when I weigh on Friday. 🤞

bec81 · 29/06/2026 13:06

My god, @bookwormcrazy, im so sorry, that id unbearably difficult.

Well done on all the losses everyone, and well done maintaining @notcomfortable . I have lost 16.6kg to date, but my weight has been fluctuating, the same kilo up and down, a lot this month. I still have another 3-5kg to go, so id imagine ill stay on 1mg for the rest of the summer, and will see where I am if I can get down to 50kg (currently 54.9kg)

GreenLemonade · 29/06/2026 13:44

Does anyone have be any non-scale victories they would like to share?

Mine was that i had the confidence to wear sleeveless tops and it felt great! I like them but I didn’t have the courage to wear them in over a decade. I also wore shorts for the first time in 20 years but somehow it felt less momentous than showing my arms.

Hettar · 29/06/2026 15:28

@bookwormcrazy I'm so sorry to hear what you and your family are going through. Do whatever is best for yourself and don't worry about weight loss.

Hettar · 29/06/2026 15:31

I started on the 8th of January so 2 weeks away from my 6 month anniversary.

I've lost a total of of 63 pounds so far. Still have another 26 pounds to go to my target weight. I may push that to 30+ pounds to give myself some leeway for when I'm at maintenance.

bookwormcrazy · 29/06/2026 17:21

Thank you so much everyone. I will definitely check in and see how great you are all doing. 🥰

Wow , 63 pounds is brilliant , well done you . I've loads to lose and have been on it for 2 days less than you and have lost 46 lbs so well jel !
I'm on Wegovy so maybe you are on mj , but well done again . 👋

CatNoBag · 29/06/2026 19:16

glutenisthedevil · 25/06/2026 20:05

@CatNoBag nice to see you back on the thread and well done on managing to lose despite the chaos!
I was the same; happy to take a lower dose and have a slower loss to try and keep some of the side effects at bay. I thought I was getting away with the hair loss as it had been 5 months before it started shedding. I take multivitamins, magnesium, zinc, biotin, selenium and collagen, some of them for a while because of peri menopause. I guess if it's going to happen, it's going to happen!
I'm 4 days past what should've been injection day and I'm coping well. Still no real food noise, but I might dose again this weekend as I'm afraid that the medication will leave my system and open me up to symptoms again if I leave it too long.

Thanks for the welcome back! Yup, I had a plan not to rush to lose as much as possible in one go to try to avoid side effects and loose skin etc, but now thinking I might have been better off going for bust from the start! I had a good amount to lose (over 50lbs), but was happy to take until the autumn or even the end of this year doing it gradually and not changing my life so drastically that it would be impossible to maintain. If the hair loss gets too noticeable, then we'll see. But I'll plod along for now, I still have nearly 30lbs to go to my goal (not helped by two months of not losing much, but that's my own fault!). Doable by the end of the year still I think, and if I only lose a few more pounds I'm still in much better shape than I was last year and feeling much better and more energy.

Today was meant to be nose to the grindstone again, back to it after our last stint away from home helping my husband's family, but had a curveball from my own family and we are slightly delayed getting back. Hopefully sleeping in my own bed and cooking from my own kitchen again before the end of the week! 🍽

CatNoBag · 29/06/2026 19:21

@bookwormcrazy I'm sorry to hear things haven't improved for your husband. Take it easy and look after yourself with whatever you feel you need to get you through the day xx

Ralphiesaurus · 29/06/2026 20:48

@bookwormcrazy so sorry to hear that about your DH. Look after yourself x

Compared to many on here I haven't lost that much - just 36lb - and I seem to keep stalling even though the appetite suppression is still there. I am wondering whether it might in fact be too strong and I should go back to 5mg so I can eat a bit more? Especially protein... technically I should lose another stone to be in a "normal" BMI but I have already had loads of people commenting on how much weight I've lost and not to lose any more etc etc... and I am back in all my post-Slimming-World clothes which is fab and I'm not sure I want to end up too thin for them if that makes sense... anyway... well done to all of us on making it this far, however much we have lost!

Ralphiesaurus · 30/06/2026 08:26

I've just weighed myself and have finally, suddenly, lost another 3lb!?!? My body is weird 😂

8books · 30/06/2026 08:28

Morning!! The scales finally bloody moved!! Just the tiniest smidge, but I’ll take it. Hallelujah 🙌

64.9kg!! I haven’t seen the number 64 on there for a long time. Thank fuck for that 😂

HollywoodTease · 30/06/2026 09:00

Morning all, weigh in day for me too today. Jab #24

SW 99.9kg
1st GW 90kg (10% loss) jab #11
2nd GW 84kg (Class 1 obese) jab #20
3rd GW 75kg (25% loss) - work in progress!
CW 80.15kg

2kg (4.25lbs) off in the last 2 weeks - I didn't weigh last week as I was away again.

Total loss now 19.75kg, which is 43.45lbs.

I have now lost 3 stone, yay! ☺️

Google tells me this is an average Staffordshire bull terrier 😮 or 2/3 of a Dalmatian 🐕

Still feeling ok on 7.5, loss is slow but fairly steady again and no side effects at all.

My next goal is to start looking at a proper exercise routine I think. I do a short kettle-bell workout a couple of times a week at the moment and try to walk every day but I think it's time to get my flabby arse in the gym and get cracking on some proper weights. I also want to start cycling to work regularly (about 2 miles each way) and doing some swimming or maybe an aquafit class. 🤔 Any tips and pointers would be very welcome!

Thank you.

I've been very lucky that I responded so well to low dosages and have had minimal side effects.

Perianth · 01/07/2026 07:24

I hit the 4 stone loss mark today!!! Still a way to go, but that feels amazing.
