Hi all, I’ve been on wegovy since Jan and I’ve lost about 7kg. Probably have at least another 25 to lose. This is slow. Anyone else losing at that kind of rate? I’m honestly not eating a lot (which I love)

I don’t have any choice but to keep going honestly. Nothing else works at all. I’m feeling better and my joints hurt less and I am much more relaxed around food whoch was a source of great anxiety. But this feels very slow - and expensive

2026istheyear2 · 05/06/2026 09:04

3 pounds off this week which is the most for a while - no idea why as have done less exercise than usual. I keep realising around 2pm that I have forgotten to eat anything, so strange!

I have now lost 4st 4 pounds and have a stone left goal weight which seems within touching distance. That will take me to top of healthy BMI so will get there and see how I feel. It’s my birthday weekend so I will be having cake!

Hi @Newstartplease24 if you feel you are eating well and maintaining a deficit, could you try adding more movement and exercise to speed up your loss? I’ve really increased my walking and it seems to be paying off. I actually love it too, and have become a bit fixated on it, which is no bad thing!

Have you worked out your approx calorie deficit just for a while as a sanity check? You might be consuming more calories with little food than expected or the wegovy may not be as effective in helping you reduce your intake.

My daily deficit according to the weight lost is between 700-800kcal and that sort of fits with what I calculate daily. It sounds great and I am pleased, but I eat a lot less and better and can't believe the way I ate before were only another 700-800kcal extra daily. It does seem like a huge effort and I am not surprised I never succeeded without the WLI.

Newstartplease24 · 05/06/2026 10:45

I haven’t calculated it no. What I eat is roughly what I ate when I was young and slim and careful (before it all went to shit with years of kids and stress and exhaustion). I am on hrt and in my 50s which won’t help. I’m kind of comfortable with what I’m eating in the sense that I have to work hard and study so I don’t actually want to prioritize fast weight loss over functionality. I guess some people seem to get more impact faster but I’ve always known I need to eat less than many others I guess

Why not take stock and weigh food and count calories for a bit? You are probably kidding yourself and see your diet and lifestyle from years ago through a different lens. It is calories in vs calories out. Wegovy will do nothing if the deficit is only v small. I would use a tdee calculator, settle for a target calorie intake for say 2-3 weeks and monitor this vs any weight-loss.

Tdee calculators take into account age too.

If I didn't count i would very easily eat more because I have an appetite and I can. The wegovy just makes it easier not to.

Can I ask for some opinions here. I’ve been on 2.5 since the start of January. I was a bit scared to go up to 5 (worried about side effects, though I haven’t really had any on 2.5). I had a couple of weeks on 3.75 but didn’t notice much difference so back to 2.5 now.

Ive lost about 23lbs and need to lose another half stone but my appetite seems to be coming back. Im picking and can hear the food noise loud and clear again. I’ve had a bad couple of weeks and gained about 3lbs.

Should I just try 5mg? Any suggestions?

I'd say go for it
I am on 7.5 and haven't had any side effects.
I was on mj last March and I think I only had sulphur burps for about 24hr when I first went up to 5mg

I think it’s worth doing a week of 3.75 then try 5.

I found the step from 2.5 to 5 tricky for a few weeks (I vomited a few times and felt nauseous every morning). But also, everyone is so different in how they respond!! Don’t worry about other people’s reactions. Just focus on your own and perhaps time the jabs so you’ve got an easy “move up” day.

I found the step from 5 to 7.5 ok. I’m now on 10 (for no reason other than impatience) and I had a little nausea for the first few days but nothing more.

I’ve got 12lbs till goal, then I’ll move back down. I think I’ll keep on 1.25 for the long-term as the positive effect of MJ (no more IBS, no more disordered eating) has been brilliant.

Good luck!!

Thank you. I had been thinking of 1.25 once I get to goal weight. I saw Emma Anders on IG and I think she does that.

God, Im eating so much more crap than I had been. I think i need to start logging what I eat again. It was my little boys birthday yesterday and I ate so many jellies and crisps and crap. A few months ago I would have avoided them no problem. Im on 1mg wegovy so not a low dose

FrothyCothy · 06/06/2026 09:15

Hi all, been a while! I took a week off jabbing while we were away though still felt the effects for most of the holiday - still managed to gain a fair bit back but that was expected. It’s gradually been dropping back off this week (while I ate a lot I know I didn’t over eat by 11000 calories 😁). However am struggling this week as though I’ve jabbed I feel like the week off means I don’t have any build up in my system so it doesn’t feel as effective. I’ve stuck with 1mg for another month to see it kicks back in but can see me going up next month if suppression is low.

Having said that we had a family occasion last night and it was nice to look at photos and see both DH and I looking better, less rotund and puffy!

My understanding is that the reason you need to move up in the first place is because your body gets used to the jab so eventually it becomes less effective. Everyone is different so the rate at which it happens is also different for everyone.

You tried 3.75 with no ill effects but not much in the way of good ones either, so I would agree that yes, it's time to move to 5.

Try it for a couple of weeks, you have nothing to lose but the extra weight! If you do have bad side effects stop. If you don't then you will know you did the right thing.

FWIW I am now on 7.5 and have had no negative side effects at all when moving up.

glutenisthedevil · 07/06/2026 10:06

Nice to catch up with everyone's updates.

It's weigh in #22 for me and 3lbs off this week, taking me to 50lbs/3 stone 8lbs total. I'm now in the 12s for the first time in about 8 years and it feels great.

I ordered a new pen from IQ Doctor this month and it's the new style so no golden dose for me. I'm thinking I'll probably do 5 doses of 4mg this time instead of 4 weeks at 5mg.

AddUpToNothing · 07/06/2026 10:42

Hi everyone. I’ve been a bit absent from here but have still been continuing my MJ journey. It’s great to check in and see how everyone is doing. It’s amazing to see some almost at their goal weight already.

Yesterday see me hit 3st loss - half way to my goal weight (I think!) I’m still in the same size clothes which is a little depressing but they’re much looser and I can definitely see a massive difference. My boobs have definitely shrunk which is no bad thing. Hopefully will mean cheaper bras further down the line!

I’m still managing well on 5mg at the moment. Seems to be working for me. Although I am finding cravings for crisps and chocolate are creeping in. At the moment, I can still resist or only have a small amount. But one to keep to my eye on, maybe.

SW: 16st 1lb
CW: 13st
GW: 10st

HollywoodTease · 07/06/2026 13:31

Holy crap!

Went to Asda for the food shop. Bought a pair of size 14 jeans thinking it won't be too much longer until I can get into them, I can test every week and it'll be another small win.

Guess what!! Yup. Fastened. Minimal overhang/muffin top. Happy tears. I haven't been a size 14 since 2012 🥹

Lovingtheglitter · 08/06/2026 09:56

1lb lost this week and as we went away this weekend I was aiming for a maintain so a pound loss is very welcome! The bigger thing for me is that I’m now finally in the next stone bracket one I haven't seen for nearly 15 years and I’m over the moon! 3 stones and 1lb down and counting!

8books · 09/06/2026 08:31

Plateau. Sometimes I get a little whoosh later in the week so we’ll see.

NSV today as I’m wearing a size 8 top and size 10 trousers for work today and I’m not even squished lol. First time in the office for 6.5 weeks so I’m a bit nervous about lots of comments. Actually I’ll be more upset if no one says anything 😂 Hopefully you guys all know what I mean. I don’t want anyone to question why I look different, just notice that I do 🤣

Perimenoanti · 09/06/2026 08:52

I am getting to the end of month 2 of 1mg of wegovy. For the past week I couldn't finish some meals, had to try and eat as I had no appetite. It is totally new to me and I think this is what people have been talking about all the time. It is like the 1mg dose has fully built up for me and I am finally in the club. So far I have lost just over 40lb.

Ralphiesaurus · 09/06/2026 11:50

That's great, @HollywoodTease and @Lovingtheglitter - so cool to see people hitting milestones.

I'm still plateau-ing but also getting thinner, which is weird. My clothes are getting a lot looser - and I'm back in all my favourite jeans from a couple of years ago, which I'm really pleased about. Not sure when/how to start tapering... I'm not quite at goal yet - still "overweight" - but being middle aged I'm not sure I want to get too thin (I can't believe I actually just typed that... lol)

Anyway... I need to do a new order and am dithering between another 7.5mg or going back up to 5mg. Side effects haven't been too bad so I might stay at 7.5...

SO glad I did this though. Isn't it great thinking how far we have all come since the start of the year?

@Perimenoanti have you lost 40lb in just two months on wegovy? Wow!😮

HollywoodTease · 09/06/2026 12:09

Weigh in day for me, jab #21 done.

SW 99kg
1st GW 90kg 10% loss jab #11
2nd GW 84kg Class 1 obese jab #20
3rd GW 75kg 25% loss since starting
CW. 82.45kg

So that's 1.2kg or 2.6lbs off this week, my first on 7.5. Hopefully back to plodding again now until the next plateau!

Total loss now 17.45kg or 38.5lbs, which is 2 stone 10.5lbs. Hope to get to 3 stone by the end of June 🤞

Slower than some, quicker than others, but I have also gone into the next stone down bracket (just - now 12st 13) so I'm pleased with my progress so far.

Happy to see everyone else doing so well too 😍

Hello no I have not! 1mg is the third strongest dose. I have been at it since January.
