Oh and going back to the theme of the previous thread I have now lost a mid-range full-suspension mountain bike or a small border collie - wow! 😂 🚲 🐕😂

😂😂
Your post just made me check, apparently I have lost equivalent to a large bag of cat litter. Seeing as I struggled to pick one up the other day that’s a definite win! 😂

8books · 02/06/2026 17:40

Same loss as you @HollywoodTease. Love the mountain bike comparison. I’m using that 😂

2.5 stone is so heavy!! I’ve just picked up 16kg in hand weights and it’s weird to think about carrying that about every day! Also, slower loss helps with skin shrinking back too.

8books · 02/06/2026 17:42
  • ChatGPT just told me “A medium-sized wild boar piglet” for 16kg 😂 🐷
Lovingtheglitter · 02/06/2026 17:48

Ooh apparently I’ve lost an average 5 year old child or a newborn calf! 😳

Love that! 😂

glutenisthedevil · 02/06/2026 21:31

Apparently I've lost the weight of 440 hamsters 😂

Bit of an off-topic one this, but I'm curious if any of you have been offered Mounjaro "alternatives" or black market products by anyone yet?

I have a friend who's been doing WLI since last autumn and is approaching a 4 stone loss now. She's told me this week that since December, due to the cost, she's been buying and using "unbranded" pens of tirzepatide. I was naturally sceptical as I know of a couple of people who are buying it compounded and mixing it themselves but I didn't think you could legally buy unbranded pens in the UK.

I've looked into it and there's no questions, no prescription, no checks, you just send money and they send you pens at whatever strength you have ordered. The price is significantly cheaper than a proper branded pen although the pen design is almost identical in shape and size, holds 4 doses etc. It comes without any instructions or warnings so I assume they are mostly selling to experienced and/or long-term WLI users.

The whole thing seems dodgy as hell to me but she swears it's been fine for her.

Has anyone else encountered anything like this? The price is tempting me to give it a go, but my sensible head is telling me these pens could contain pretty much anything!

GreenLemonade · 03/06/2026 10:57

No, no and no. Dodgy AF. There could be anything in those pens. They could contain the wrong drug, the wrong dose, contaminants, or no active ingredient at all. They could have been improperly stored or manufactured under less than sterile conditions. If a reaction occurs you won’t know what you’re reacting to.

It’s madness to inject yourself with unknown substances from the black market. Please don’t do it!

Agree 100% .

Agree. That liquid could be absolutely anything!! I’d avoid unregulated medication. No amount of money is worth the downside risk.

FrostyFlo · 03/06/2026 18:37

Bit of a boost this afternoon , and I know the sizing isn't seen as exactly small but in dire need of some summery pjs .
Bought some 14-16 and they fit and 1 set was even a bit big .
Woohoo my 3 stone loss is showing benefits .

I’ve never been offered it, and I wouldn’t risk taking it personally, but from reading around these boards, there seem to be lots of people who are very gung-ho about doing so, to the point of calling those who pay full price through a regulated pharmacy mugs for wasting our money.

Not for me - the risks are not quantifiable in any way.

I'm not struggling to eat at all, I've still been hungry this last week despite using my golden dose to go from 5 to 6.25. I will start 7.5 tomorrow.

I have a query for those who are click-counting to move up and doing more than one jab at a time though - are you using separate needles for each jab or using the same one? So if doing 7.5 from a 5mg pen it's click to 1, jab, click-count to 30 and jab again. I'm thinking 2 needles to reduce infection risk (I've got plenty of spares) but a friend who did it a few months ago said she just wiped the needle with her antiseptic swab and jabbed again. Sounds dodgy to me!

I would be interested to hear people’s thoughts on this too as I have started doing 6.25 from a 5ml pen. The first week I used 2 needles but I don’t have many spare as I always use the golden dose needle. This week I just used the same needle and I’m not sure what to do going forward.

HollywoodTease · 03/06/2026 22:19

I bought a pack of 100 4mm needles off Amazon.

It was about £20 I think. Bought a box of swabs too!

I used 2 needles to do my 7.5 from my 5 pen, and will do the same for the next 2 weeks until I start my proper 7.5 pen.

Yes, not sure if it was that seller but definitely CarePoint needles 🙂

bookwormcrazy · 03/06/2026 23:23

@HollywoodTease thanks for the info. I didn’t order the ones I linked above as it wasn’t the right gauge but I have found some care point ones that match the specs of what is sent to me with my pens. Really helpful, thank you.

8books · 04/06/2026 07:44

@HollywoodTease I’ve been using the same needle for click counting and swab skin beforehand. I’ve been doing 60 clicks, then 20 clicks to get 10mg from my 7.5mg pen.

Hettar · 04/06/2026 14:49

Week 21 update

I had a few weeks were is plateaued but I'm back to losing between 1-2lbs a week.

ThisAmusedPoet · 04/06/2026 15:42

Jab day! I’ve slowed down so jumping to 10mg soon to see if I can get over this last bump - or I can click count to take less from the pen.

SW 1/1/26 - 93.3kg
Jan (2.5mg) 86.5kg -6.8kg
Feb (5mg) 82.5kg -4kg
March (5mg) 79.4kg -3.2kg
April (7.5mg) 75.6kg -3.8kg
May (7.5mg) - 74kg -1.6kg
MJ22 4/6 (7.5mg) - 73.6kg -0.4kg
GW: 68kg
Total loss: -19.7kg

bookwormcrazy · 04/06/2026 17:45

Jab day for me too. I know I have been moaning a bit recently about my weight loss slowing down (stopping) but after 2 weeks on 6.25 it seems to have kick started my system a bit and I had a small whoosh - if you count 3 lbs as a whoosh. 😂

SW - 15st 13lbs
CW - 13st 3lbs
GW - 10st 7lbs

Loss so far - 2st 10lbs

BeWildPearlFish · 04/06/2026 18:27

I think if I'm lucky I'll maintain this week, I don't feel a loss is coming. But in a NSV I ordered new holiday clothes and for the first time in about 25 years size 10 fits

8books · 04/06/2026 19:25

Finally reached 2.5 stone loss ❤️

SW 12st 11lbs (81kg)
CW 10st 4lbs (65kg)
GW 9st 6lbs (60kg)
5’7”

35lbs down. Still deliberating on my goal weight. Hoping the 12lbs left comes off final little tummy pooch.

Onbdy · 05/06/2026 07:14

Another 2 pounds off for me this week, 44 pounds in total. Properly in a size 14 now, I’ve gone down a bra cup size to a 36HH 😂 and I’m 2 pounds off the next stone bracket. I’m still on 6.25 with no plans to increase until it starts slowing down. I’ve been back at the gym this week too but not quite up to my full workout.
