Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

Tomorrow will be jab 10 for me. It also marks 2 stones lost and I can’t quite believe I was so much heavier before.

Have been on 3.33mg the last couple of weeks but more suppression and nausea than I’d like so might drop to 3mg.

Thought I’d do this for a few months initially but now planning another 4 to 6 months and maintenance.

NorthDevonBeachLover · 04/06/2026 18:24

I should have 2.5mg left in my pen to draw out with an insulin syringe. How many chicks of the new pen do I then need to make it a 3.75mg dose?

Is it a 5mg pen? I counted 45 clicks for my 3.75 dose from my 5mg pen this week.
It surprised me at how much such a small increase affected me, very little appetite, and fuller quicker, despite my period starting again this week (the jab seems to have made my totally unpredictable cycle regular as clockwork again)
I think I am going to see a decent loss again this week, despite the fish and chips and ice cream over the weekend.
My birthday dress still doesn't quite zip up yet though! 5 weeks to go....

NeedSleepNowPls · 05/06/2026 08:01

Starting the morning frustrated here as it's weigh in day and my husband accidentally broke the scales a few days ago 😂 off to the shops asap to replace them as I neeeed to know what this weeks weight update is! Hopefully it's been a good week for everyone 😊 I'm finding the suppression on 3.3 really good so far which is a relief!

custardlover · 05/06/2026 08:11

So I have had a sluggish few weeks and therefore was stunned to see I have lost 4lbs this morning! That’s 25 altogether after 8 jabs and 8 weeks - today will be the 9th. I was planning to go up to 5 today and have ordered a 5 pen but now I am unsure that I need to! I also still have another ‘dose’ left in my old pen but I don’t know where to get new needles. Could I use one of the needles from the new pen to get it and then order some extra new needles, to cover the new pen if I do smaller doses? Where should I get needles from???

I ended up doing the last dose from my 2.5mg pen and then did 15 clicks of my 5mg pen too. I found a chart somewhere with clicks etc. I'll try and find it again and share on here.

@custardlover I ordered insulin syringes on amazon, they come with fixed needles. Easy to use.

Week one of 3.75, no side effects, but a huge difference in satiety, my portion sizes has been creeping up a bit, and I was having to make a conscious effort not to over eat, so although I was still losing, I was beginning to think about food too much again. I'm glad I didn't go to the full 5mg, this feels like the right dose for me now.

Week 1 loss 8lb
Week 2 loss 1.9lbs
Week 3 loss 2.5lbs
Week 4 loss 2lbs
Week 5 loss 1.5lbs
Week 6 loss 1lbs
Week 7 loss 2lbs
Week 8 loss 3.5lbs

Total loss 1 stone 9lbs, and so close to a healthy BMI now!

I am over half way to my goal weight (which is in the upper half of the healthy BMI range) which feels incredible in two months. Hopefully my losses will settle back to a sensible 1-2 lbs a week again, and suppression won't be too high next week.
I am not tracking my food or calorie counting, just eating three healthy meals a day, and trying to fit a protein snack in too.

22sra · 05/06/2026 09:50

Advice please! I’ve just been looking at what date to order my next pen as we go on holiday 27th June to 7th July.
I take my doses on Sunday evenings, which would mean two doses while I’m away. The golden dose of my current pen would be on the 28th, which is fine. But I’m not sure about taking a new pen away in case there’s no fridge etc.
What is the true shelf life once opened, both in and out of the fridge?
Could I order a new pen a bit earlier and start that while at home, while leaving two doses in my current pen to take away with me? Or am I just overthinking this?! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Teaandchocolate2222 · 05/06/2026 13:35

I’m saving this thread as I am very tempted… I have endo and am around 25 BMI so interested in the anti inflammatory aspect if anyone has noticed an improvement there. Also sick of not being able to keep off the 5kg I need to feel myself

22sra · 05/06/2026 14:50

My inflammation dropped within the first week. I used to get real swollen ankles by the end of the day, as if I was at the latter stages of pregnancy. That rarely happens now. I also used to get IBS, and those symptoms are gone too.
Period cramps and ovulation cramps are gone, bloating is gone. I had a laparoscopy in Sept 25 which caused some of my additional weight gain.
So MJ has really been incredible for me so far.

yes my IBS has gone completely. I used to have to plan carefully what and when I ate and if there were likely to be toilets nearby. I think my lymphodema is slowly moving in the right direction, and my knee, which I damaged last year, is not giving me pain.

Thesehills · 06/06/2026 07:23

Hey Everyone.

Week nine jab today and eighth weigh in.

Week 1 - 7lbs
Week 2 - 2lbs
Week 3 - 2lbs
Week 4 - 2lbs
Week 5 - 1lb
Week 6 - 1lb
Week 7 - 2lb (first 3.75 dose this week)
Week 8 - 3lb

Starting weight: 15 stone 7lbs
Todays weight: 14 stone 1lbs

I'm going to stick with the 3.75 dose, I'll do that for as long as possible I think, I'm happy and it's working well for me. The only side effect I seem to have is that I get bad heart burn on Sundays, the day after jabbing. Then nothing, everything settles down. Good suppression, no tiredness, if anything I have much better energy levels. That's probably more to do with the weight lost though and having less to lug around.

Anyhow really well done everyone, good to catch up . I love reading how you're all doing, such great results and fabulous achievements. Keep up the good work.

Isabelle70 · 06/06/2026 12:32

It was week 7 jab on Thursday and 11.5 lbs down.
I still have really good suppression and could forget to eat but I do make sure I have my meals.
Still no side effects and hope that the nurse will allow me to stay on 2.5.
If a lower dose is working for you, do you continue on that? Or encouraged to move up?

NeedSleepNowPls · 06/06/2026 22:26

@Isabelle70 if the lower doses are working I'd stay on them as long as possible! It's cheaper and easier side effects

TFICoffeetime · 07/06/2026 09:55

@Isabelle70 definitely stay lower if it's working. It depends on how much you are loosing and benefits of loosing more quickly balanced with the risk of side effects. I would say that your nurse will be best placed to know with your own circumstances. But explain your preference of wanting to stay lower. Well done so far. X

todays weigh in and a loss of 0.8 kg / 1 3/4 lbs

so a total loss of 7.7 kg / 1 stone 3lbs and todays weigh in was week 7 jab

plus I have lost 4.5 inches from my waist since May 17th and an inch off my right thigh which is my worst lymphodema leg.

Isabelle70 · 07/06/2026 10:35

@NeedSleepNowPls@TFICoffeetimeI am really hoping to stay on the 2.5 as I don’t mind the slow and steady, that’s what I want to do.
The NHS calculator says I need to be around 60kilo for a healthy BMI which seems really low, that would have been my weight 20 years ago. That gives me another 20 kilo to go.
I have seen 2 different nurses at the practice, one was more caring than the other so will book with her for my appointment next week.

TFICoffeetime · 07/06/2026 10:40

Hope it all goes well
Good luck. X

Hey, so good to read all the different experiences shared on here. Some great losses ⭐️ I’m in the slow and steady camp. Just about 1st lost in the last 7 weeks. The positives are that I have minimal side effects, even with the increase in dosage I made, somewhere around 3+mg. I have a couple of family parties over the summer and have set myself interim targets for those. Kind of wish I felt a bit more suppression at times. I definitely need to find the time for some activity to boost my loss but work and a few other things are busy and mentally draining atm.

Sending a well done 👍 and keep going to you all 😊

My osteoarthritis has calmed down massively as has my ibs and acid reflux. My friend suffers with endo and is still suffering with no improvement.

custardlover · 07/06/2026 22:35

I found a bag of clothes from my pre-pregnancy days and spent a very pleasurable hour trying them all on again. I’m not quite ready to wear them out but it feels like that next step is very much within reach, weeks rather than months. It was such a joyful experience - they’re all the ones I loved the most which is why I stored them rather than donated them. I was gutted to grow out of and I am so very glad I kept them!

Anyway, thought I would share this little happy triumph!

Mummynextdoor · 07/06/2026 22:46

Checking in.

Have lost just over 6 kilos so about a stone. Have had 7 injections so far. 4 x 2.5, 3 x 5 Appetite suppression is strong for the first few days after the jab then gradually increases. Will stay on 5 for next month.

mounjaroatlast · Yesterday 11:25

I decided to stay on 5mg after 4 weeks of it, but wish I hadn't now. I have put on 1kg and the suppression is much less and the snackiness is back. :(

I messed up the 1st dose (couldn't prime the pen) so only have 2 weeks left, so will ask the nurse if she can prescribe 7.5mg next.

My swollen ankles have gone though, and my tummy has gone down a bit.

I am still 6kg down overall, but was hoping to keep losing not start going back the other way.

I am sticking to 1400 calories a day, so it is frustrating for the weight to not be coming off

thinkofsomethingdifferent · Yesterday 12:11

Week 11 for me and jab day. Overall I’m 25lb down, but annoyingly I can’t see where I’ve lost it…and neither can anyone else! My clothes are still the same size. My rings are looser and my stomach a little less bloated, but that’s about it. I didn’t take measurements beforehand so I can’t really compare, but not one person has mentioned I look any different 😕. I’m down from 12 stone 5 to 10 stone 8, so only 8lbs to go to target but maybe I need to lose a bit more if I can’t see any difference.

pomegranatepie · Yesterday 16:12

Is anyone else really struggling with fatigue? I am so utterly exhausted at the moment, and dizzy. I had put it down to my perimenopause period from hell last week, but I usually feel great the day it finishes, and two days after I'm still utterly floored. Now wondering if it's having gone up to 3.75. suppression and satiety are really high, so I am possibly not eating enough (but feel uncomfortably full when I try and up my food) if it doesn't improve I think I will go back down to 2.5, I am really struggling.
