Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

Sounds like a few of us are in the bloated, constipated, weight not moving much phase and I honestly blame the heat.

I have had a week of sleeping 5h and just feel so rubbish. Weight has shifted a bit, but I’m still +0.7kg from my last week’s lowest. Andi can feel it all in my belly. 🥲

Glad today is cooler, I hope to get more sleep and back in the fibre.

Me too, my body feels swollen and puffy, and it's hard to feel enthusiastic about cooking healthy meals. I definitely need more fibre this week. Salads with pulses and protein are the way forward I reckon.

@Purplebunnie sorry to hear that, hope you recover soon!

Morning everyone!

Up 0.9kg from last week and I know it’s just constipation, inflammation and absolute lack of sleep, as I’ve been in the same deficit and kept activity same too.

Anyone else struggling with the heat? Home is so hot I’ve slept 5h last few nights and feel so swollen and full 🫠

I really struggle in the heat. I think peri/menopause thing as didn't effect me 6 years ago. I find I get very tired in the heat & feel sluggish.
Sleep definitely effects metabolism. When I had my children I could easily survive on 5 hours with a coffee and do a days work. It amazes me how I need more now & I'm not doing same bedtime routines or disturbed sleep.
Don't worry about scales not moving much some weeks. It's interesting to see how many of us can be affected by bloating, and hormone changes.
@Purplebunnie so sorry to hear you have been unwell. Hopefully with right treatment will right itself & maybe you will be able to start again cautiously & with the right monitoring. Can't have been pleasant for you at all.

I only weigh once a week as I try pretend I'm not doing any weight loss. Lol.
Have a good end of week all. Nearly the weekend ❤️

@TFICoffeetime I'm feeling better thank you. I have some tests that are being arranged and a gastroenterology review. I will be guided by what they tell me. I'm on a low fat diet now which I am finding a bit challenging - I'm veggie and cheese was a source of protein that has now gone. I'm hoping to keep off the 8lbs I've lost and maybe lose some more

All I can say is our NHS is wonderful, cannot fault anything, well apart from the skanky loos in A&E and that's down to Joe public. I was so well taken care of by such empathetic people

TFICoffeetime · 27/05/2026 14:02

@Purplebunnie
I'm pleased you've had good care. Must have been worrying time.
Half our household are vegetarian & I'd really recommend pea protein powder. I have a vanilla one that has no additives that I get through Prime. My daughter has a Coco flavour one which is all natural flavouring. The one I get is for women so has extra nutrients. Definitely great to get your protein up. I understand the cheese thing.
Other faves in our house are FAGE greek yoghurt, smoked tofu and mixed beans with fat free dressings & balsamic.
Also a great breakfast is one egg, one banana mixed together and fried in a pan as a pancake with vanilla essence. X

@Purplebunnie so sorry to hear that, hope you're well on the road to recovery.

Just a quick one as work is crazy. Having put 1/2 lb on last week after several meals out I've lost 3.5 this week so that's 18 lbs off in total in 5 weeks which I'm chuffed to bits with, although aware that will start to slow down soon.

I was going to move up to 7.5 for my next pen as I do still have a certain amount of food noise and appetite but have decided to stick with 5 whilst I'm still losing.

I still find the way it works with me really strange. As mentioned, still some food noise and appetite but I'm finding it fairly easy to exercise and eat healthily.

Lack of sleep is standard for me as my 7 yr old is a terrible sleeper, I'm also post-menopausal (is that thing? Maybe just "menopausal"?).

@3oldladiesstuckinalavatory if it helps to reassure as far as side effects go, I had a bit of heartburn after my first jab and if I don't drink enough water I can feel very mildly nauseous. That really is it.

Well done all!

3oldladiesstuckinalavatory · 27/05/2026 14:33

Purplebunnie · 25/05/2026 18:00

BMI is now 39 and no absolutely not messing around with the clicks. The pen looks as if it has enough for another dose of 2.5.

It may not be the Mounjaro it may be something else that has caused it but I'm taking the consultants advice and not continuing. I'm not blaming the Mounjaro

You poor thing. Get well soon! Might well be the MJ and hopefully coming off it will
sort the problem out 🤞

We used to have a very good source of pea protein but then it disappeared so thanks for the recommendation. I love FAGE greek yoghurt and have that every week. My favorite cottage cheese is Waitrose no fat - I find all others too creamy if that makes sense

MyGardenDaisies · 28/05/2026 07:43

Morning! Got 7h sleep finally and a new lowest weight! By a few hundred grams but now the stats are:

-8.8kg in 7 weeks and 3 days 🙌 so still averaging about 1.17kg/week

I still feel stuffed in my belly so hoping for another whoosh soon.

pomegranatepie · 28/05/2026 07:46

Weighing a day early as we are going away for a few days, and I have lost another 2lbs, which I am delighted with, as has been feeling puffy in this heat.
I have also managed to squeeze myself into my size 12 jeans and do the zip up! Although I look too sausage like in them to actually wear them yet.

Week 1 loss 8lb
Week 2 loss 1.9lbs
Week 3 loss 2.5lbs
Week 4 loss 2lbs
Week 5 loss 1.5lbs
Week 6 loss 1lbs
Week 7 loss 2lbs

Total loss 1 stone 5lbs with MJ and halfway to my birthday weight goal (7 weeks to go- unlikely I will hit it in time but happy if I get the party dress zipped up, will try it again next week)

Total loss since I started trying to lose weight in January - 1 stone 12lbs.

So I think I am getting away with sticking at 2.5, at least for now. I definitely don't find the effects quite as strong as I did at the beginning, but the food noise is manageable, and the way I am eating feels sustainable ( I always ate healthy meals, it was the emotional eating of sugary treats that piled the pounds on, time and time again, and it's totally curbed my sugar cravings and need to snack)

NorthDevonBeachLover · 28/05/2026 09:25

Another week and 1.5lb off, now down 8.3kg/18.29lb in 8 weeks. Feeling pretty happy about that, just trying to decide whether to move to 5mg but do a smaller dose... anyone done this with success?

custardlover · 28/05/2026 09:29

It’s so great to hear all of your success stories. Again I am not feeling very hopeful this week as dreadfully bloated and heavy and not sleeping but I’ll find out tomorrow!

custardlover · 28/05/2026 09:30

I keep trying to share a photo to recommend the M&S Honeycomb protein yoghurt but can’t seem to make it work without crashing the app so I’ll just tell you about it instead. IT IS DELICIOUS and 22g of protein!

Well done all.

Actually redid the weight loss calculations and I’ve lost 9kg, which puts me in the 19st bracket !! And means I’ve lost all the weight gained in 2nd pregnancy (9kg on MJ and 15kg on my own) 🤩

So happy to have reached this milestone. I know my motivation is general health and longevity, not having the health risks associated with obesity, but it’s so nice to have some type of metrics to use and “milestones”.

Now 10kg more and I’ll be at pre-kids!

This is my 6th day of my first week on 3.75mg after 4 weeks on 2.5mg. It has been a good week, I now feel that I am losing the weight instead of just seeing it on the scales. Good suppression through the week instead of wearing off after day 4. I felt a bit tired and mild headache coming and going on days 1-3 so pleased I did not go straight to 5mg.

That's really helpful, thank you. I definitely feel the suppression wearing off earlier now.

chocolateanddietcoke · 28/05/2026 18:54

Hi all! Down 5kg in 6 weeks which included a weeks holiday and drinking every day of it 3-4 drinks! Pretty pleased. Down to 74.9kg now. Hoping for another kg this week. I don’t think I look much different though!!

Isabelle70 · 28/05/2026 19:05

Week 6 for me today, nearly forgot it was jab day then realised it’s Thursday!
A total of 9lb now, slow and steady.
Still no side effects or food noise.
And the positive side effect is my rosacea is getting better by the day.
@custardlover I don’t like yoghurt texture but I like honey, is that yoghurt worth a try? The last fancy one I got from M&S went to the dogs!

Z0rr0 · 28/05/2026 19:10

Need some opinions please. Started MJ 9th April. Lost slow but steady the first 5 weeks, but I made a mistake. Instead of going up to 5mg for the second jab I stuck with 2.5. Now the past two weeks I haven’t lost anything. My 5mg jab has come but I still have at least one jab left of the old pen. Will I just move on today to 5mg so I can hopefully start losing again and either forget the last dose or hold it in reserve for maintenance at some point in the future (what’s the shelf life once opened?) Or do I stick with the final jab and just resign myself to another week of no weight loss? WWYD?

You could do 375 for your last dose of that pen. One full dose and then another dose which will be 30 clicks of your 2.5 pen. Make sure you change your needle for the second dose of 30 clicks. You should be able to get that out of it , one full dose and then the 30 clicks can come from your golden dose. You'll obviously have to force the pen for the golden dose. Then move up to the 5 pen the week after.

Ive been on 375vthis week for the first time after staying on 2.5 for 6 weeks, it's been much better for me.

Slowly upping the dose may help you minimise any possible side effects too.

MyGardenDaisies · 29/05/2026 07:29

Morning!
Major NSVs today, BMI under 40, moved from Obese III to Obese II, meaning I’ve somewhat reduced health risks.

Also now less than 5st left to lose till my goal. 🙏
