@pomegranatepieIs it easy to force the pen round to the 1 again for the 5th dose? I see lots of talk of the 5th dose, but I wasn’t going to bother as didn’t want to buy extra syringes.

mine was very easy to twist. Im now using 3.75 out if a 5 pen

how do you do it? Just crank it round like you would have done normally? is it a 5 or a 2.5 one?

and Im not sure I like the sound of the new style pens that dont have that extra dose!

45 clicks. 60 clicks is a full 5mg dose, so each 15 clicks is 1.25

ScreamingDelight · 11/05/2026 13:00

A bit off topic, but does anyone have a discount code? I used med express and boots previously.

Really easy, just gave it a bit of Welly when twisting it round, and it gave.

Has anyone had their period delayed after starting Mounjaro?
My last 3 cycles have been 29 days exactly. I did have one longer cycle before Xmas of 39 days, but they usually range from 29-33 days. So I’m not always super regular and it may just be a coincidence. No chance of me being pregnant.
Just curious whether this has impacted anyone else?

I've had the opposite, my periods have been totally erratic over the last couple of years with cycles ranging from 14 days to 57 (hey perimenopause) but this month came bang on 28 days. Both periods since I started MJ have been heavier and more painful than normal, and PMT mood was better, although PMT fatigue was off the scale.

pomegranatepie · 11/05/2026 17:56

I haven't been able to eat today, managed half a protein shake and a babybel so far, which is not ideal. I'm glad I didn't go up to 5!

NeedSleepNowPls · 11/05/2026 18:34

Me too @pomegranatepie! I counted calories out of curiosity and I'm just under 1000 today when aiming to eat more than usual! That's actually blown my mind as I'd normally be beyond hangry if they were that low 😂

NeedSleepNowPls · 11/05/2026 18:36

Also very interesting on the period chat! This month was my most painful one ever- I'd put it down to stopping breastfeeding lately but will dread the next one if it's a mjo side effect

The lack of hanger is a revelation, it feels really strange, and makes me realise how much my moods have been affected by blood sugar for most of my life.

I did manage to eat some supper, a small portion but at least I got some protein and fibre into myself.

Isabelle70 · 11/05/2026 21:29

I am now using the NutraCheck app and it has given me a goal of 1200 calories a day. Is this reasonable?
I have also realised that my old portion sizes I had which I thought were the right size , were too generous!

I have the same goal. You can choose to specify you are on GLP so it shows you protein. It seems a huge amount of food to me. I probably didnt eat that much but what I did eat was likely snacking and extras which pushed me into the bad stuff.

Jab day for me and week 3 on 5. I’ve ordered another 5 pen which is coming today as despite my first horrendous week, things have settled down. Weight wise, I’m still on the 1 stone mark but that literally is due to alcohol. I’m a “secret jabber” and had a huge birthday celebration to attend this weekend. I could barely eat, but the dark fruit cider slips down too easily. It also comes back up too easily but that’s a different story. I have no plans now for a good few weeks so I’m really going to focus on good food and moving more.

mounjaroatlast · 12/05/2026 10:03

I took the first 5mg yesterday for my 4th dose. I have lost 2kg in 3 weeks.

The diarreah stopped yesterday after the higher dose, and has gone a bit the other way today. I woke up feeling very sick, but I do have gallbladder issues and GORD, which cause a lot of other problems.

Just had 2 weetabix for breakfast and feel stuffed, and still nauseous

MyGardenDaisies · 12/05/2026 10:24

Morning !

I must be made for this medication as so far no negative side effects on 5mg.

Re period - my first one on Mounjaro was 5 days later than usual, but still within a normal range.

Feeling SO COLD I’m struggling to drink water. Going to have to switch to teas I think!

Do you like flavoured water? I've started drinking Vidrate which has electrolytes and caffeine - if you subscribe you can currently get a month for free with £3.99 delivery charge. I was going to cancel after the free month but might stick with it as it seems to be helping!

MyGardenDaisies · 12/05/2026 11:21

@StolenPineappleCup yes I drink squash but it’s cold haha

NettleTea · 12/05/2026 12:52

Interestingly, now Ive ditched the protein shake in oat milk, and gone for proper food, the weight has dropped again. Im beginning to suspect that my body reacts badly to any kind of processed stuff, as thats not something that I would have normally eaten. So I will lay off those and see what happenes and then experiment again further down the line.

Have a lymphodema massage today, and when I woke up this morning I noticed that my ankle, which had been very swollen after I broke it in 2020 and then had inflammed / filled with lymph and hardened, had reduced in size. I also think my feet and toes look slightly better too. She said she didnt feel a difference in my legs yet but its early days and the patients she sees usually takes about 2-3 months for her to really notice. I cant aford monthly treatment from her now Im buying the MJ so Ive made a booking for 6 weeks time, and then we will see if we can stretch it to every 2 months. I feel its very useful to have alongside the medication as it helps to clear areas and maybe let the inflammation reduce down and hold, along with the compression stockings.

MyGardenDaisies · 12/05/2026 21:17

-6.5kg (likely more as I weighed in the evening after a day of food and water) in 4 weeks and 2 days.

2.5kg more and I’ll move from Obese III to Obese II category in BMI terms! Very happy with the progress so far.

Interesting to read how some of you refer to yourselves as “secret jabbers”. No one has yet noticed (other than OH) my weight loss, but I think if I’m asked to how I’ve lost weight, I’m going to say I’ve been using tirzepatide that suppresses appetite, counting calories, protein, fibre, strength training 2x week and increasing my steps.

I am not ashamed of using medication. This is not some skinny tea, but something my gastroenterologist suggested, GP is informed about, and clearly is helping to reduce my obesity.

is it the stigma of “fat jabs” that make you want to not disclose? Or purely cause it’s no one’s business what prescriptions you take?

Z0rr0 · 12/05/2026 21:55

Not sure if I will lose this week. Maybe 1lb. I think I should have gone up to 5 instead of sticking with the 2.5 because hunger is creeping back in and I’ve been snacking a bit which isn’t great. I’ve got three more jabs before I can get the next pen. 🙁

StolenPineappleCup · 12/05/2026 21:59

I've bought a syringe to access my 'golden dose' but I'm going to stop after that - I qualified with a lower BMI but high blood pressure and I've lost 21lbs in just under 4 weeks but that's because my appetite has reduced to zero. I'll be honest I don't feel well or healthy at all so think it's time for me to go back to the old school methods...

Thesehills · 13/05/2026 07:11

Quick mid week check in.

Jab day for me is Saturday, it'll be my sixth jab. I've stayed on the 2.5 dose for my second pen as it's been working well but food noise is definitely creeping back in.

Upping to 3.75 on Saturday, so a full dose of 2.5 and a further 30 clicks making another 1.25. Hopefully this will help.

Anyhow well done everyone. Lots of positive posts here.
