Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

@Scrabsqueak I sympathise because it's slowed right down for me too.

I suspect I'm not drinking enough. Will force myself to up it

Definitely not managing more than 60% of daily protein requirements even though I have started protein powders.

Not sure I understand calorie requirements tbh. My basal metabolic rate is 1508 calories & I have been pushing myself to eat 1000-1200 daily for a month.

Is that the right way to go? Any help/advice gratefully received!

I don't understand the whole calorie thing very well, what does metabolic rate mean - is that your "maintenance" calories? I used a calorie defecit calculator to work out what I should be on a day and then when I started using nutracheck it worked it out for me. I'm on 1361 a day (allowed extra if I exercise), I'm 5 ft 10 and start weight was 18 st 3.

Being very tired could also well be water related.

StolenPineappleCup · 06/05/2026 18:23

Just done my 4th jab and starting to actually feel much better. Weighed myself at the weekend and had lost 11lbs! Not surprising I suppose when I could barely eat anything. For anyone in a similar position I've bought a supplement from Willpowder which supports rapid weight loss - it has protein in it, electrolytes and lemon and ginger for any nausea - can have it hot or cold (not an ad, it genuinely seems to be helping).

My pen still has some left over - guessing this is the 'golden dose'?! How do I get access to it since my pen won't inject again...? Thanks!

Isabelle70 · 06/05/2026 20:15

@StolenPineappleCupI have the Willpowders protein powder in the vanilla and chocolate. I prefer the vanilla but both are good.

MyGardenDaisies · 06/05/2026 21:55

I am a bit apprehensive about 5mg dose on Monday, in case I get any unwanted side effects. On 2.5mg I’m having none really, only first week had a few headaches.

Has anyone already increased to 5mg?

Nugg · 06/05/2026 22:20

Well, I’ve done my third injection this evening. Still no suppression, barely a side-effect either so I think I’m gonna go up to 5mg. And if that still has no effect, then I’m gonna stop

NorthDevonBeachLover · 07/05/2026 06:55

Weigh in 5 and I'm now down 14.5lb so just over a stone! Yay, can't even explain how happy this makes me feel! I feel like I have more energy already!

I plan to increase to 5 this weekend, so far no side effects at all but also no suppression since about half way through week 2. I was hesitant as I've had good weight loss but I do want some suppression for when my willpower starts to wane...

Scrabsqueak · 07/05/2026 10:13

Thanks for replies, still no shift today.
I am drinking minimum 2l of water, and smoothies, and two cups of decaf coffee so I can get my collagen in.
I know slow and steady is best, but most people get a bit of a jump start in the first couple of weeks! I am not constipated. Definitely NOT a super responder!🤣

22sra · 07/05/2026 11:01

@ScrabsqueakSorry to jump in, you’ve mentioned smoothies. What kind of thing are you talking about? Pre made/fresh from home? With/without protein powder?
from what I know, smoothies break down the fibre from the fruit and are essentially mainly sugar (carbs). So they’re not always recommended for weight loss as they’ll likely tip your macros out of whack and can make you gain weight if not careful.
Depends what you’re putting in them though.

NettleTea · 07/05/2026 11:53

made a couple of smoothies which were fresh kefir, a handful of some kind of fruit (berries/bananas) a scoop of Zoe 30 and a teaspoon of honey. I dont put any powders in but maybe I should, or is this not a good thing to have?

Lovemeacocktail · 07/05/2026 12:16

Ive lost 10lb which im really pleased about. Didnt really feel any suppression but no side effects either so happy about that. Have upped to 5 today so fingers crossed i have another good month.

anchoviesanchovies · 07/05/2026 14:32

Interested in the smoothie chat. I've been making one every morning, half a frozen banana, unsweetened almond milk, frozen spinach, heaped teaspoon of peanut butter and protein powder. Occasionally I chuck in some blueberries and sometimes I add chia seeds and nuts and seeds.

ScreamingDelight · 07/05/2026 14:40

I have micro dosed and went to 3.75 this week. I feel like food noise is creeping back in and i am a very slow loser when it comes to weight, i had ordered a 5mg pen but i have heard of people having side effects when jumping dose. I have had no side effects on 2.5 so keen to preserve that.

Scrabsqueak · 07/05/2026 15:22

@22sra Thank you for bringing this to my attention.I make smoothies from fresh fruit, add chia seeds and protein powder and coconut water or fruit juice. Should I stop making these do you think? I’m only having one a day, it’s my usual breakfast now.

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 07/05/2026 16:11

@Scrabsqueaki think I’m a slow responder too. After 5 weeks I’ve lost a stone, but nothing at all so far this week even after upping to the 5mg. I’m going out at the weekend too so anything I do lose leading up to jab day is likely to go back on. Next week we have no social outings so I’m going to make a real effort to get those steps in!

custardlover · 07/05/2026 17:17

It will be my 5th jab tomorrow and having done a sneakily little pre-weigh in, it looks like I haven’t lost anything plus I feel hungry (admittedly, it is day 6). I ordered another 2.5 pen as I had such a galloping start to weight loss and no side affects but now I am regretting it! Should I order a 5mg do you think? It would be a couple of days I expect… Aaargh - what should I do?

22sra · 07/05/2026 17:52

If you’re not already, I would log the smoothie ingredients/weights in something like my fitness pal to check you are still on track. If you’re having them as a complete meal, and the protein is ok, it may not be related to the slow weight loss. But if it’s an additional snack, and protein is low it could be the cause. I wouldn’t recommend fruit juice as the base. Coconut water could be ok depending on the volume and brand. Unsweetened almond milk or a similar alternative is a good choice. You could blend with water but add a couple of tablespoons of low/no fat Greek yoghurt to add to the creaminess and increase protein.
Alternatively, if you’re having that as your breakfast for example, you could switch it out every other day to something else to see if that could be what is keeping the losses from happening. Something like eggs, or Greek yoghurt with fruit and the same toppings you’d likely put in the smoothie on top. Keeping the fruit whole keeps the fibre whole, taking the sugar with it on its way out, rather than it being stored as fat.
For ease I have mainly been having those protein yoghurt pouches from Aldi and a piece of sourdough or something along the side. It puts me at about 40g of protein for breakfast, depending on what I have. And keeps me full until lunch.

Isabelle70 · 07/05/2026 18:11

3rd jab and weigh in for me today, down 100g this week. But my body does feel different, stomach feels softer.
No side effects and my appetite is suppressed but I am continuing to have small good healthy meals.

NettleTea · 07/05/2026 18:16

I had the best nights sleep Ive had in years. just woke up once! considering I am wearing a CPAP mask that is phenomenal.

Relaxd · 08/05/2026 01:17

At 6th jab (clicking for 2.5 from
5mg pen) I am definitely seeing suppression start to slow down. Lost 10kg so far and really happy with that. That said, I want to lose a bit more slowly now to avoid skin side effects and I don’t mind being hungry as long as it’s around meal times as I feel I want to retrain myself to this rather than block food out fully (although that was amazing!!). I still can’t eat big portions so I may try a couple more weeks at 2.5 before going to 3.75. I still get some nausea and I reckon it would be quite bad at 5mg. I’ve bought a few 5mg pens to keep me going either way as the Clicking method is going well. I have invested in the Frio wallets as I travel frequently - and they’re fab.

pomegranatepie · 08/05/2026 10:46

Jab number 5 this weekend, and I am planning on attempting to get the extra dose out. I have lost another 3lbs this week, bringing total loss to 1 stone and 1lb since I started. I'm still getting good results from 2.5 so even though I ordered the 5 for my next pen I think I will stick with this dose counting clicks. There's always the option to go up to 5 if things slow down. I definitely don't need to lose any faster at this rate!

Z0rr0 · 08/05/2026 12:47

I did my 5th jab yesterday. Four weeks in and 9lbs down which is slow and steady and overall I’m pretty happy with that. Especially if it continues. With 2.5 stones ish to lose, 9lbs down is decent. Keep going everyone. It will be worth it.

mounjaroatlast · 08/05/2026 14:17

I had my 3rd jab on Monday, it is definitely not working as well as it did the first week. The snackiness is definitely back, and the feeling of fullness etc is not so strong.

The diarreah is relentless, every day, several times a day, everything goes straight through me. I have been reading online and it seems like it might stop after a few weeks, so fingers crossed.

I have still only lost around 1kg in 3 weeks. I spoke to the nurse, and jab 4 should be on Monday, but she has switched me to 5mg, so jab 1 of that will be Monday instead. I hope that the diarreah doesn't get worse.

custardlover · 08/05/2026 23:15

Gosh I’m sorry to hear that, you must be getting very dehydrated! I must admit my problem is really quite the opposite and I find myself feeling uncomfortably ‘full’ for a few days at a time. I need to work on fibre!

I took my 6th jab tonight (sticking at 2.5) as I found I had actually lost another kg after all this week when I weighed in properly so that’s 8kg altogether or SEVENTEEN LBS! I hadn’t actually paid attention to the total but blimey that’s nuts in four weeks. I have found it a bit ‘harder’ this week but on the whole I am not snacking or focused on food so I guess it is working steadily. If I keep up around a kg a week I will be thrilled by my summer holiday.

Thesehills · 09/05/2026 06:02

Hey Everyone.

Had a quick catch up with you all. Everyone seems to be going strong.

Week five jab and fourth weigh in for me today.

Week 1 - 7lbs
Week 2 - 2lbs
Week 3 - 2lbs
Week 4 - 2lbs

I'm happy. I can see a difference in my face!

I've decided to stick at 2.5 for my next pen. My food suppression is really good and other than the odd slight sickly feeling and sometimes feeling cold, I seem to be dodging any side effects.

Well done to you all, keep going.
