Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

I feel so sick today. Yesterday I made chilli and rice for dinner. As we’d been out most of the day and hadn’t eaten a lot I plated a fairly ‘normal’ portion, but with more chilli than rice. I have been so full and sick since then. The sulphur burps last night were consistent. I can still feel last nights dinner in my stomach 15 hours later!
I feel like this is a way to make you remember how awful you feel when you overeat and discourage it 😂
which is great, but my goodness, I can’t wait for this to let up a bit.

mounjaroatlast · 05/05/2026 09:39

Had my week 3 jab yesterday and had terrible munchies last night. I have still only lost 2kg, although my swollen ankles have gone down, so must be losing water at least.

It is giving me terrible diarreah though, every day, and really bad IBS. Still only on 2.5. The nurse was supposed to ring last week but didn't , so will have to chase that up.

I also had a period after 3 months of none (peri).

I really have changed my eating habits, smaller meals, no snacks etc, and it is disappointing not to see better results.

Hello everyone, can we talk cottage cheese?! I’ve never been a massive fan of the stuff, but I am (mostly) veggie (eat a little fish) and struggling with finding protein to have with salads or veg. I remember years ago being able to buy tubs of flavoured cottage cheese which were a bit more palatable but higher calorie (I think). If you use cottage cheese for protein how do you use it? Can you cook with it? Maybe my palate will have changed and I will find it nicer now, but I’m reluctant to buy a tub not knowing how to use it in a way I will enjoy. Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks.

I can only eat the Waitrose no fat cottage cheese, I find the others too creamy even other no fat ones. I have it with a salad or a jacket potato. Grapes cut up on top are nice and refreshing, so are strawberries. I've never liked the ones that come with fruit, it's nicer to add your own.

You can make an omelet with it, you need to pour some of the liquid off. DH cooks this for me so I'm not too sure how he does it, he does add some other cheese to give it a bit of taste

I am also vegetarian and it is difficult. I eat tofu and haloumi but I'm only on my 2nd week and have an appointment later today so I will check if these are okay to continue with.

Do you eat canned tuna? I must admit I am going to start squawking like a dolphin soon as I eat so much

Mix of scoop of whey with 0% Greek yoghurt to a super protein rich breakfast (40gms in one meal)

NorthDevonBeachLover · 05/05/2026 15:22

I often make omelette by mixing cottage cheese and eggs together.

Or put on top of lentil rice cake type things.

MyGardenDaisies · 05/05/2026 16:03

How much do you all have to lose roughly?

I have about 8 stone total, I’ve lost 3 total on my weight loss journey so far.

NettleTea · 05/05/2026 16:58

realistically I have about 5 1/2 stone to lose. If I can stay under 10 stone then my lymphodema is negligible, but the moment I have that extra weight in my abdomen, the lymph nodes in my groin are compromised and my legs start blowing up. So Im aiming for 9 stone, which is near the middle of the healthy BMI. I spent most of my life a steady 8.5 stone until the lymphodema kicked in. when I started this I was 94 kg, this morning I was 89.8kg

pomegranatepie · 05/05/2026 17:45

I needed to lose about 3.5 stone, which would bring me to a BMI of 23. I lost 7lbs pre MJ (which took three months), and almost a stone since I started (in three weeks) so 2 stone still to go. It actually feels achievable now.
But mostly I just want to end my endless cycle of gaining and losing weight, and the constant battle with food noise, which has dominated most of my adult life. I love the clarity this is giving me, and need to try and find a way to continue long term, possibly microdosing.

Blushingm · 05/05/2026 17:45

I’ve got my 3rd 2.5mg tomorrow but I’ve already ordered the 5mg.

so far I’ve lost 12.5 kg - but I can’t feel/see it so it doesn’t feel real.

Cedricsmum · 05/05/2026 17:53

Has anyone used Cuva Health at all? About to order my 3rd pen. Ordering early as I go on holiday next week and will need it for when I get back, I’m going to stick to 2.5 for next couple of months as I’ve got holidays and a busy July working away from home so don’t want to risk more side effects as I’ve been side-effect free on 2.5 and losing a steady 2lb a week is ok for me.
I got my first prescription from MedExpress who were fine and I only needed to submit a photograph. I moved to PillSorted for my second prescription. They were very quick to approve and despatch but oh my goodness! What a faff getting to that stage. I had to upload a video of me getting on the scales after recording myself giving my full name, today’s date, dob, etc. Then after submitting that I had to video myself doing a 360 degree turn. I’d like to avoid the faff for my 3rd but I’m moving to benefit from discounts giving cheaper cost while I’m still on 2.5. Cuva seem a good price but I want to avoid all the videos again if I can. Any experience of these or recommendations please? x

Yes I used Cuva for my first jab. They were great. I had to submit a photo of id and 2 photos of myself - front and side on. That was it. Approved quickly and delivered the next day.

Thanks so much @ditsygal that’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ll order my next one from them then. They get really good reviews on Trustpilot

Thepinkwave · 05/05/2026 22:12

Bad day today. I even had a Magnus with almonds after dinner. I need to be more focused tomorrow.

Z0rr0 · 05/05/2026 22:16

Thanks so much for the cottage cheese tips everyone. I got a small tub today so will have a crack and see how it goes. @PurplebunnieI don’t eat loads of tuna but I did have some this evening mixed with avocado in lieu of mayo, on Chinese leaf. I had about 2.5 stone to lose, now about 2 stone. Bit worried about my weigh in this week as I drank more at the weekend than I have been.

ElvisandAngel · 05/05/2026 22:34

Has anyone else had a bloated stomach since starting in week 1?

Purplebunnie · 05/05/2026 22:55

@Gotchagood thanks for the tips on the whey. I've not seen it any supermarket around here but will look out for it now

@Z0rr0 Unfortunately I don't like avocado and would never have thought of mixing tuna with it but hope that gives someone else an idea

@Cedricsmum I have gone through a local pharmacy to get Mounjaro and I have to say that the support has been wonderful but have taken note of Curva as I expect I am paying too much and I may use further down the line

I am aiming to lose 6 stone with a view to another 1/2 to 1 stone depending on how it has gone. It's a bit daunting.

MyGardenDaisies · 06/05/2026 10:08

I did my first pen with Boots and now got 2nd with Bolt and both asked for front and side photo, and ID.

I am going up to 5mg on Monday. I am hoping to eat a bit less to be on the bottom side of my deficit calorie range going forward.

Just ordered my next one with Cuva. Needed photos of driving licence, scales showing current weight, front pic and side pic. Very quick and easy and a really good price. Much easier than having to do the videos with PillSorted 😂 Just waiting for approval to come through now

Hi
For those able to exercise what and how much are you doing?
I'm quite sedentary work wise but often exhausted to gym it.
Thanks in advance

Hi TFIC. I hadn't exercised at all since last summer and even then it was very hit and miss. Since I started mounjaro 3 weeks ago I've been doing weight training twice a week, and trying to fit in a swim or aqua aerobics once a week. I'm finding it very easy to do this at the moment whereas in the past I'd argue with myself about whether I felt up to going, and usually decide I didn't... I work from home 3 days a week so am usually able to get to classes on those days.

To be honest I'm wondering if I'm finding it so much easier because I've stopped the 2-3 glasses of wine I was having a night. Even though I felt that wasn't affecting me, getting up in the morning is so much easier now and I just feel better. Although I'm still not a morning person!

pomegranatepie · 06/05/2026 13:14

I'm trying to get back into the habit of daily yoga (managing about 3 or 4 days a week so far, and just a quick 10-15 minutes) but I am already feeling more flexible and stronger. I bought some weights about a year ago which have been gathering dust, and I have no idea what to do with them, must find a beginner video. Gym is not practical for me, I live in the middle of nowhere. I walk every day, and I do a physical job, which I am hoping will count for something. I had to take a few months off to care for my father, which contributed to me gaining so much weight again recently (on my endless yo-yoing) so getting back into work has been physically tough (and the extra stones have not helped). I'm hoping if I can add yoga and weights consistently it will help me get back to full strength.

Scrabsqueak · 06/05/2026 13:32

Am feeling a bit dispirited. Food silence great, no desire for alcohol. Taking loads of fruit and veg, protein powder and chia seeds and some fish and cottage cheese etc. only had two jabs I know, but the scales are simply not moving except a wee bit upwards! What else can I do? Am very tired, but have managed a few walks which while not great is more than I was doing.
Its a lot of money for no change.

I'm sorry @Scrabsqueak , that is so disheartening. I'm very new to mounjaro and generally not an expert at all but just a couple of thoughts. Are you drinking lots of water? That seems to make a big difference. Also, I suspect all of a sudden you'll see a big loss.

Can you do any kind of weights training, even just a few mins a day at home? As you increase your muscle to fat ratio I believe you burn fat faster.

Keep going, think of all the good you're doing your insides even if you haven't seen the results yet x

Cocachanel · 06/05/2026 16:32

@Scrabsqueak I sympathise because it's slowed right down for me too.

I suspect I'm not drinking enough. Will force myself to up it

Definitely not managing more than 60% of daily protein requirements even though I have started protein powders.

Not sure I understand calorie requirements tbh. My basal metabolic rate is 1508 calories & I have been pushing myself to eat 1000-1200 daily for a month.

Is that the right way to go? Any help/advice gratefully received!

Cocachanel · 06/05/2026 16:33

Oh, and I'm so tired!
