Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

OP posts:

I went up because I still had the food noise (though I need to be realistic that there will be some as a carer because I sitll need to make food for others even if I'm not hungry) and I wanted to eat in the evenings still and was still more hungry than I would have liked. Now at 5mg I'm in the right place and hope to stay here as long as possible. I haven't had my first weigh on on it though so I don't know what the losses are like yet compared to 2.5

Cocachanel · 02/05/2026 18:11

Done my 4th jab a little early for convenience - lost 10.25lbs over 3 weeks which is amazing.
I can see it a little in my face but I'm a little impatient for some NSV's /different clothes! Still, staying on 2.5 as the suppression is still strong & weight loss is continuing at around 2lbs a week.

Cocachanel · 02/05/2026 18:13

@thinkofsomethingdifferent it sounds like an awful week - 🤞next week is better.

Purplebunnie · 02/05/2026 18:47

1 dose of 2.5 last week 1st weight in -3.5lb and an inch off the waist. I wasn't actually expecting to lose so I'm a happy (purple) bunny

MyGardenDaisies · 02/05/2026 20:52

Im actually in the discussions with my new provider about changing my order (not finalised yet) to 5mg as I’ve still been in deficit but had food noise this whole 3rd week and eaten more, and appetite suppression wasn’t that great. I felt like I’m relying a lot on my own willpower and determination.

my goal is to use Mounjaro as a tool for weight loss for a period of time and wean off after, not for long time. So want to take an optimal dose.

I har had no side effects on 2.5mg so am hopeful 5mg might work better and I can stay on it and lose what I need to and then do 1 pen of 2.5, then stop

22sra · 03/05/2026 12:20

Second jab later this evening and I’m down 1.7kg/3.75lbs.
I’m happy with that so hopefully this continues.
I’ve not felt overly hungry, just aware of what and when I need to eat. It’s been eye opening to realise that the volume and types of things I was eating before was outrageous!

MyGardenDaisies · 03/05/2026 16:29

Hello!

Jab 4 tomorrow, loss so far -5.5kg (12lbs) in 3 weeks. Very happy with that but so far I’ve not noticed any difference other than scale, less puffy in the face maybe.

I hope to get some NSV soon

pomegranatepie · 03/05/2026 18:33

Jab day 4 today, 13lbs lost so far (delighted) and my mum, who hasn't seen me since I started, noticed I had lost weight, which is definitely a NSV I reckon. I can see a difference in my face, and my clothes are feeling looser. I have slept better the last couple of nights, I think the crazy dreams just seem to happen for the first few nights post jab. Hope they stop soon as I have definitely been sleep deprived.

Scrabsqueak · 04/05/2026 06:10

Being late to the party and just scraping in to April, I am due my 2nd jag today. Not a fab first week, only lost a lb, but tbh not sure my weighing in was accurate as I was in such a tizz about taking first one I didn’t weigh before and kind of went off recent weight. Lesson learned. I used left of my stomach last time and still have a massive bruise, so thought about right side this time. Stomach seems safest as defo fattest part so I thought most pain free, does that seem reasonable?
Food suppression been v strong, and no real thought about alcohol, so no real empty calories, which will be good if it keeps up, once my body decides to let go its fat stores it’s been hoarding so long! Felt a little bit queasy, but nothing massive, definitely lacking in energy, up till a couple of days ago.

anchoviesanchovies · 04/05/2026 07:38

Morning all, sorry to all that are suffering side effects, sounds awful 😞 I’m emetophobic so dread getting sick.

I did my 3rd jab last night, 11 lbs down in 2 weeks which I’m very happy with. I haven’t yet had any side effects at all, even this weekend when I had a couple of large g&t’s and a little bit of Chinese take away (just chicken and mushrooms so nothing too fatty).

This past week leading up to my 3rd jab I’ve had very little appetite suppression but I’ve still found it easy to stick to very healthy food and do some exercise. It’s weird because I normally have the willpower of a gnat!

I’ve ordered a 5mg pen although debating counting clicks and going somewhere between 2.5 and 5. I’m not looking for faster weight loss but I would like a bit more suppression.

Regarding calories, nutracheck has me on 1365 a day. I’ve just checked and I’ve been over my limit 6 days out of 14, often by 4-500, I need to keep an eye on that! Although I’ve been around 3-400 down on 4 days.

Well done to everyone on all the losses.

MyGardenDaisies · 04/05/2026 09:24

Morning!

just took my 4th jab. As of today -5.2kg in 3 weeks. Chuffed!

Pen nr 2 (5mg) arriving tomorrow.

Overall with my weight loss I’m nearly 20kg down and got 35kg to go.

Next mini milestone is 4kg then I’ll have lost all that I gained in my last pregnancy. 10kg after that will bring me to pre pregnancies, and another 8kg to pre major surgery that caused weight gain too.
then 8kg to 2-digit weight 🤩 and final 5kg to goal

EducatingEater · 04/05/2026 10:26

Well done everyone, especially those who are keeping chugging on despite set backs. We will get there!

5th jab today, first official 5mg from the pen after the sneaky golden shot dose last week. The surpression was much better, I hope it remains at this level for as long as possible without having to go up anymore.

The food noise is down a lot more, I don't have cravings for bad things or snack as much in the evenings, though the feeling is still there in the brain but not the stomach and mostly I just ignore it.

For this week, which will be a month come Wednesday for starting I have lost 4.2lb.

In total so far after a month of injections, I've lost 1stone 1.2lb and I'm very happy with that. I know it will eventually start to calm down as my body adjusts and gets used to eating like this, but in the same breath I do have a lot to lose and I'm concentrating on protein over calories (though I am under those too on nutracheck 95 percent of the days, I think I've gone over twice in the month and it's been less than 200 both times and has been times I've not been 100 percent in control of my own intake as I didn't cook the meals)

monicagellerbing · 04/05/2026 10:39

6lb down today on weigh day. So that’s a total of 1 stone 2lb in 3 weeks. I’m absolutely buzzing. Only another 9 stone to go 🤣

Z0rr0 · 04/05/2026 10:43

Hello everyone, can we talk cottage cheese?! I’ve never been a massive fan of the stuff, but I am (mostly) veggie (eat a little fish) and struggling with finding protein to have with salads or veg. I remember years ago being able to buy tubs of flavoured cottage cheese which were a bit more palatable but higher calorie (I think). If you use cottage cheese for protein how do you use it? Can you cook with it? Maybe my palate will have changed and I will find it nicer now, but I’m reluctant to buy a tub not knowing how to use it in a way I will enjoy. Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks.

pomegranatepie · 04/05/2026 10:59

Week 4 day 1, and I have zero desire to eat, I only just about managed half my usual breakfast (greek yogurt, kefir, berries and seeds). I think I am going to struggle getting protein in today. I bought one of those huel drinks, which I will try and get down me, but it's actually disgusting. No nausea, just struggling to get anything down me.
I bought some cottage cheese yesterday, am going to mix in some fresh herbs and garlic, and dollop it on my salad. I imagine you could also blend it with berries for a smoothie?

I saw someone who recommended it on here.
I've been having it as a snack. I turn it into a dip. No blitzing. I dress it with a tiny bit of balsamic vinegar, pepper, paprika and sprinkle chilli powder (tiny amounts). Then eat with lentil or pea crisps. I find it really tasty & helps when I fancy a snack.
If you like a sweeter version you could try the ones with pineapple but I think that's a love it or hate it taste. Just check calories. X

Is anyone else having a late period ? Or is it just a coincidence ?

I’ve been blending it into my soup. I bought a soup maker which is just brilliant for getting veg in to me. At the end I add half a tub of plain full fat cottage cheese and blitz it in, that then does me 3 meals.

Isabelle70 · 04/05/2026 12:58

Is anyone using protein powder in smoothies? I got some chocolate and vanilla for some extra protein, so far I prefer the vanilla with banana and strawberries.

ditsygal · 04/05/2026 14:20

Jab 3 for me today, 2 weeks in and I've lost 9lbs overall. 7lbs in week 1 and 2lbs this week. A litte disappointed its not a bit more this week given I have been mainly below 1000 cals every day except 1 (i know this is probably too low but I am assuming suppression will wear off a little so I am sure this isn't a long term thing) and I've got 4 stone to lose so it's not like I'm close to target. But I am happy with how easy mounjaro has made making healthy choices and not reaching for snacks or chocolate at all. I am a little sad I tried a diet coke yesterday and it made me feel sick, but apart from that ive hardly had any side effects yet. Hoping week 3 is the same! Think I'll order another 2.5mg pen as happy with how I feel so far.

ElvisandAngel · 04/05/2026 17:26

I had my second jab on Friday (2.5mg)
I have been reading your posts since the beginning and wanted to join the thread.

I lost 10lbs in the first week but I have not lost any weight since then.

I am tracking everything I eat on MFP but I am not weighing things out. I am averaging 1600 calories a day. I have stopped eating bread, but I will have a small amount of rice, pasta or boiled potato with my evening meal to keep my energy levels up. I have also stopped eating cheese.

I still get very hungry, but when I do eat I can stop myself in a very controlled way. I also do not crave unhealthy foods.

When I weighed myself on the day of the first dose I had not weighed myself for 3 years. I was 1 stone and 5lbs heavier than I thought I was. This has really knocked me because I feel I have so far to go now with my weight loss and the goal posts have changed.

Even though I have lost 10lbs I cannot see it or feel it and I actually think I look bigger than before I started. I do not know if this is due to me finding out that I am that much heavier than I previously thought.

In the first week I had a really bad headache for 2 days but since then I have not had any side effects.

I was planning on always staying on the 2.5mg does but if I do not lose anymore weight I will need to reevaluate this. I just don’t want any side effects.

I didn't lose a huge amount in week two, but good losses again in week three, which seems fairly common from what I have read. And 10lbs loss is such a great start, I don't think you need to make decisions about next month's dose yet, see how you get on this week.

NorthDevonBeachLover · 04/05/2026 18:25

Don't think I'll lose anything this week! On holiday for the weekend and haven't paid much attention to what I've had even though I know I've eaten so much less than I usually would! Today I had an ice-cream, I'm now waiting for my stomach to complain about it! Was a very nice ice-cream though! Highly recommend trying white chocolate and raspberry!

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 04/05/2026 19:31

Hi everyone, weigh day for me after week 1 of the 5mg and total weight loss so far is 1 stone. As mentioned previously, it’s been a tough week adjusting to the new dose but it’s jab day tomorrow and I’m feeling better about it. The terrible side effects have now subsided, so I’m hoping that continues. I’ve been able to go out this weekend and drink my usual amount of alcohol and didn’t feel any worse than I normally do so that was surprising. If I get the same symptoms after the jab tomorrow I’ll certainly be moving back down though as it’s been a rough ride.

Yes, I’m using pea protein, no flavour. I’ve tried a vanilla one but it tasted horribly artificial so I’ll stick with the pea one :) I don’t know how to get enough protein into my day without it!
