Hello, I've just done my first Wegovy injection of 0.25 today and I have a LOT to lose with a bmi of 45 😱

What is the Mumsnet etiquette regarding discount / referral codes? I have a £50 for medexpress.

Hi all, I've been quiet and would love some advice, similar to @Kay2000 after 120lb loss in 14 months I have just had enough and I just want to be at goal. "Diet fatigue" is real! I have 26lbs to go but the scales haven't moved in the last month despite being on 15mg. I jabbed on Monday and don't feel anywhere near the suppression I want or need.

I'm also struggling to go back onto the horse after Easter. It's always the case. As soon as the routine changes, my whole eating/exercise regime goes out the window. Is there a thin person to ask if this also happens to them?!

The kids easter eggs are all half eaten in the fridge which I have also helped myself to.

Had a big argument with my mother who wanted to give me the big box of cookies she bought for Easter which no one finished. I said I didn't want it, worked so hard and can't have that crap in the house etc. And she wasn't having any of it "take it, take it, it will go to waste, don't waste it, take it to work, give it to a friend, do this do that". I can see why was so overweight as a child. I took it home and ate 3 yesterday. I can't bring myself to bin it...WHY?!?!?! Why can't I bring myself to bin it?

I still have half the Easter chocolate lava cake in the fridge that I can't bring myself to dispose of. It's weird isn't it, that throwing food away has such a hold over us.

Welcome! A BMI of 45 will sound pretty low to a lot of us- mine was 59.7 this time last year! So don't worry, we're all in similar boats so you're in good company.

Discount codes aren't allowed, I believe there's a special section somewhere else on MN for them, don't know where as I've never been there!

SilenceInside · 10/04/2026 16:23

Hello @Dogaredabomb welcome 👋 all of us here on this thread have similar starting points. I was BMI 50 when I did my first injection.

The rules about discount codes is that they are not allowed to be posted on threads, they will be reported by other posters and then the post deleted by MN. You can do as you’ve done though, which is to say you have one, and people can PM you.

SilenceInside · 10/04/2026 16:25

@Fffreeeeezing the specific section for discount codes was removed by MN a little while ago. They're not allowed at all anymore due to concerns about the law around promoting prescription medication.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 10/04/2026 16:27

I hope I didn't traumatise anyone with my strange tale. I just wanted to tell it in the same way I experienced it.

Dogaredabomb · 10/04/2026 16:33

Thank you for explaining re referral codes, I remember on MN seeing tons of them so that explains why I can't see them now. Well, I shall settle in, long way to go until I'm just tubby 😂

TragicMuse · 10/04/2026 18:03

I cycled again today. That’s 200 calories burnt, no car fuel used and a healthy glow to the face!

Tomorrow I’m going to bike to meet a friend for coffee - that’s only about 10 minutes each way.

I’d like to get my stamina and fitness back up and I like cycling so it should be possible and enjoyable…

PearlsTeapot · 10/04/2026 20:53

I went out for dinner tonight and sensibly had chicken salad. Then came home and dived in the cupboard and ate a whole bag of Nutella biscuits. Whyyyyyy!

TragicMuse · 10/04/2026 21:18

I’ve had chippy and half a Belgian bun! Miraculously I am still within calories for the day!

And since I don’t eat back exercise calories I’m on a good net for the day.

It all balances out…

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 11/04/2026 07:39

Weigh in day and a nice little whoosh. I'm glad I decided not to increase my dose last week after all - although I am getting slightly more impulses to snack I'm able to control them and I think it's good training for when I try to titrate down in the future. I've also just realised I forgot to jab last night for the first time! Will do it this morning but I've never jabbed in the morning so no idea if it will make any difference to how I react 🙈

CW 96.5kg, 43.2kg lost in 39 weeks

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 11/04/2026 09:15

Wow @RenegadeKeeblerElf its amazing you're still losing at that pace this far along. And just realised you're still on a low dose. Thats amazing!!!

TragicMuse · 11/04/2026 10:14

Yes, well done @RenegadeKeeblerElf!

I’m finding losses hard going at the moment. This week I’ve been up and down by the same pound as last week and the one before. I am within my calories target but nothing much is happening. It’s irritating.

I can’t drop calories further, I’m on 1250, and don’t want to go lower. And realistically I can’t go much lower than that anyway. I’ve been trying OMAD a couple of days a week with little effect. My only next option is to go to 12.5mg but I don’t know if I can afford it. Or if it will work. I’ve got suppression and fullness so I don’t feel like I need to increase because that bit is the magic effect and is still working!

Bit stumped really!

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 11/04/2026 10:46

The weight fluctuation is such a mystery. I’ve gone up and down the same kg this week with no obvious reason. Like @TragicMuse suppression and fullness is there, the same calories like before now resulting odd ups and downs.

I keep repeating “trust the process” and reminding myself of previous wins, how far I’ve come, and that the long-term trend reflects it. Even the three-month trend tells the story! The smaller graph in this photo shows this week.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 11/04/2026 11:19

Sorry you're struggling @TragicMuse , hopefully this is just a plateau and it will sort itself out soon. If you're sticking to 1250 cals without issues then I can't see that going up a dose would make a difference, save your money 😉

PearlsTeapot · 11/04/2026 12:16

Has anyone got a link to a decent click chart please? I want to go up slowly between 5 and 7.5, I was using ChatGPT but it is now refusing to tell me click dosages saying it's unsafe!

Billybingbong · 11/04/2026 12:19

@PearlsTeapot here you go 🙂

SilenceInside · 11/04/2026 12:19

If you’re ok with doing the calculation yourself, it’s the dose you want, divided by the pen strength, times 60. So to get 6mg from a 7.5mg pen, it’s (6/7.5)x60 =48

52soon · 11/04/2026 12:43

Lost 4 of the 5lb post holiday weigh in since Wednesday, very pleased with that as I thought it would take me 5 weeks at my usual 1lb per week. I usually jab today but only jabbed 10mg on Wednesday after going 11 days not jabbing. I’d prefer to jab Saturday but is it too soon to jab another 10 to get me back to Saturday’s?
I have my diabetes review Thursday which is my 1 year anniversary on MJ my last HBA1C was 36 and I was taken off metformin, I just hope they continue prescribing if my bloods are good.

Fffreeeeezing · 11/04/2026 14:13

Week 56
1lb off this week
SW 25st 9lb
CW 16st 7lb
Total loss 9st 2lb

Clothes are causing me a lot of hassle this week, I'm down to very few items that still fit, I'm doing alright for jeans and leggings and a single pair of black work trousers but top halves are the problem, the weather is not helping in that it seems to keep swinging from hot to cold. Keep looking on Vinted but I can't decide what I like which is a weird problem to have. I don't really have a 'style'.

Work clothes are my biggest problem as we're going into better weather because I've been wearing tights and dresses since last autumn and I can't have bare legs as my calves are still humongous 🫣 and I have zero work tops to go with the 1 pair of trousers!

Anyway, this is very much a minor problem in the whole scheme of things, it just makes everyday when getting dressed a bit stressful.

Well done to all you other losers and for those of you struggling, I wish you all better weeks going forward, onwards and downwards.......

Well done everyone!

I reached one of my Non scale goals today! I've had a pair of boots from Camden since I was probably 16ish and they have never fitted my calves, I tried them on today and for the first time ever they go on and do up. Just need to find an appropriate place to wear them now!

This is amazing, you really kept them a long time (no idea how old you are!) and now finally can reap the benefit! Show us them?

Thanks for the click chart @Billybingbong but I go up in 2 clicks at a time, not 5.

@SilenceInside so if I want to work out what 42 clicks from a 7.5 pen is, what would I do please? Then 44, 46 etc?

So if 60 clicks is 7.5mg you need to divide 7.5 by 60 to get how many mg in 1 click, then multiply by how many clicks you are doing. 7.5/60 is 0.125 so 42 clicks would be 5.25mg

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/04/2026 14:55

@PearlsTeapot

6mg (from a 7.5mg pen) is 48 clicks.

5mg (from a 7.5mg pen) is 40 clicks.

You're gradually wanting to do another 2 clicks, aren't you.

Every 2 clicks (from a 7.5mg pen) is 0.25mg of MJ.

42 clicks = 5.25mg MJ
44 clicks = 5.5mg MJ
46 clicks = 5.75mg MJ
48 clicks = 6mg MJ

Please note everyone - this only relates to a 7.5mg pen.

If you're not good at maths, don't guess.

SilenceInside · 11/04/2026 15:01

Yes, to work out the dose from the number of clicks it would be

(Clicks / 60) x Strength

so, 42 clicks from a 7.5mg pen would be

(42/60) x 7.5 = 5.25
