Wegovy March 26 starters

Wegome26 · 07/03/2026 14:15

Hi I know there is a main March thread for injections but I thought I’d also start a wegovy specific one for us to share our experiences.
I started wegovy on Thursday 5th March I haven’t yet had any side effect nor any suppression. I hope it will kick in soon.
I’m 5 ft 2 and 78 kg

I’m so constipated already. Really need to tackle this asap

Every morning I have a small glass of juice with chia and flax seeds in it. I also add these to porridge if I eat it.
Something like dulcoease daily can help keep things moving while still being gentle. Ooh and lots of water.

Reepicheepp · 22/03/2026 13:41

I'm having a pint of water before coffee in the morning and before every meal and that seems to be helping keeping things moving

Klaap · 24/03/2026 07:40

Week 1 I lost 3lb
I felt a lot better towards the end of the week but hunger was back.
2nd jab today

MabelStark · 24/03/2026 10:04

Very pleased to see this thread as I started Wegovy on the 21st March having thought about it and then talked myself out of it for months! No real symptoms so far - had a small amount of nausea at the weekend and I have a dry mouth but that’s about it. Finding it really hard to drink enough water through the day as I have an active job.

Hi I started the same weekend as you and I would say my experience has been the very same!

Mumstheword1983 · 24/03/2026 15:53

Would anyone mind sharing what they are eating on an average day? I am only in the first week and I feel like I am eating the same as I usually do but just less as I get full quickly. So for example I'm eating a half portion of my home made curry for dinner tonight and in the morning I am having a boiled egg with one slice of wholemeal bread rather than 2 slices. I'm using my fitness pal and I'm averaging 1200 calories per day and my evening walk burns around 150.

I've no idea if this is sensible or not as I am new to this. I am hoping to lose 2lbs per week.

Thehungrysocialworker · 24/03/2026 17:12

Just sneaking onto the thread whilst its still March! After umming and ahhing for over a year my delivery is coming tomorrow! I've 4 stone to loose and have signed up for 3 months initially.

How are those that started earlier this month getting on?

Casualbrowser21 · 25/03/2026 11:21

This is my first week on it and lost 1.7llbs - I did have two weddings last week so hopefully next week when I can stick to a proper diet will lose more! No side effects yet although I am on the wegovy pill which I think may be a slightly lower dose (?)

CoffeeIsMyLove · 25/03/2026 12:38

Hi!
I started yesterday, I'm 5ft 4 and 112kg 😳

I want to be optimistic and say that I already feel less interested in eating, but most likely it's just a placebo effect. I'm really good at tearing myself down though, it surely can't be wegovy just yet.

Good luck to everyone going forwards♥️

Thehungrysocialworker · 25/03/2026 22:57

I did it! Jab 1 done 😊

I am now a ball of anxiety but have exhausted google/mumsnet threads. My plan is to keep busy this week, and count my calories to see what I'm actually eating!

Klaap · 26/03/2026 07:44

In my 2nd week and don’t feel as rough as the first week, weight loss is very slow so I think I will likely have to go up to the 0.5mg pen after 4 weeks

Toomuchtothinkof · 26/03/2026 16:44

Sneaking onto this group just before the end of the month. Decided to give Wegovy a try, have ordered and been clinically approved, waiting for it it to arrive now, would like to loose 5 stone, feeling nervous about side effects

Mumstheword1983 · 28/03/2026 08:21

First week weigh in done. I waited the week. 4lbs down which is great. I have felt quite light headed and slight headaches but that's probably from the lack of sugar more than anything else.

Klaap · 28/03/2026 13:49

I injected into my leg this week and think this has helped with symptoms. First week I did stomach.

I have noticed I’m not really hungry but I am still able to eat a fair amount.

Toomuchtothinkof · 28/03/2026 16:57

My pen arrived today so going to do my first injection this evening.

4lbs down is great @Mumstheword1983 😀

I’m the same height as you, I work in imperial but googled and found I’m 99kg. So we’ve a similar journey, hope your week has been ok?

CoffeeIsMyLove · 28/03/2026 18:08

@Toomuchtothinkof I usually do imperial too but my husband told me kg losses look better (apparently). He doesn't know I'm on wegovy though, I'm keeping it to myself.
It's not been too bad, I've found sticking to a lower amount of calories so much easier. I don't feel the temptation to snack, I'm also making sure I eat something breakfast. I haven't had any side effects either.
I'm worried it'll all undo though because tomorrow it's my birthday and I'm determined to treat myself to some cake!

How have you been getting on so far?

Toomuchtothinkof · 28/03/2026 18:44

@CoffeeIsMyLove that’s great you’ve not had any side effects 😀
my pen has arrived today, so I’m doing my first injection this evening

I have told my husband, I don’t think he agrees with my decision but hasn’t said so. I wanted him to know in case I react badly to it. I left the booklet that Med Express sent lying around and he has read it.
have you managed to hide your pen and sharps box?

have a good birthday 🎁 a small bit of cake won’t undo everything from the week

Hepzibar · 29/03/2026 09:02

Well I’ve done it! Procrastinated yesterday, thought I’ll do it this evening but I’ve just gone for it. Feeling anxious now. But like everyone here I need to do something and keep buying bigger clothes is not it.

CoffeeIsMyLove · 29/03/2026 09:40

@Toomuchtothinkof how did it go last night? I was amazed how you don't feel the needle at all!
I hide my pen in my drawer, I know there's mixed opinions but I checked the website and it said you can keep it at room temp under 30° for around 6 weeks (I think). And I hide my sharps box in my wardrobe in an old bag of clothes.
Also thank you! My kids wanted to start on the cake early and I only wanted a small piece, it must definitely be working because that's very unlike me 🤣

@Hepzibar well done on taking the first step!

Well done! I had real fear about taking it and felt anxious last night before and after I’d taken it.

Happy Birthday 🎁 💐

I was really anxious before and after taking it. Was really surprised I didn’t feel it and I mastered how to use the pen. Had a bad nights sleep, kept waking up from odd dreams, think that was my anxiety rather than Wegovy. Met some friends for brunch this morning, wasnt sure what to expect. I ordered the veggie breakfast and managed to eat one sausage, small portion of baked beans, 1 egg, a very small field mushroom and half a slice of toast. Left some toast, a veggie sausage and grilled tomato. I felt full halfway through what I ate but carried on as friends don’t know and didn’t want to seem out of character 😂 I’m not veggie, just fussy about sausages and it’s easier to go veggie than risk gristle.

im not sure if it’s taken away the food noise yet as all I’m thinking about is, ‘is it working and do I want to eat’ 😂Tonight’s dinner will be the real test.

Hepzibar · 29/03/2026 15:45

@Toomuchtothinkofso you felt the effects the day after taking your first dose? Wondered how long it would take to take effect

Toomuchtothinkof · 29/03/2026 17:37

@Hepzibar definitely feeling the effect on first day, it’s a little odd. I’ve prepped dinner, which is now cooking (stew) and stood in the kitchen for ages with no desire to snack. I always want to snack 😂

CoffeeIsMyLove · 29/03/2026 20:27

Well done @Toomuchtothinkof ! It really helps when it takes away all urge to pick something up, that was exactly how I'd fail in the past.
I was offered takeaway for tea from my husband but nothing sounded appealing at all, when it doesn't sound like you, you know it's working!
