We have all been on for heading up to 20mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health
most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it

And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did
Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots

I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.
To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely - and we are finding it def harder to keep weight off with lower doses

only 2 words to say 😂😂

Just a bit of fun for today. I joined a dance group a while back. Wish I had found it before. It's for older people who like to dress up, dance and have loads of fun! Our dance teachers are two women in their 20's who are brilliant. Last video they made got over 300, 000 views on Tik Tok! The photos here are from our latest shoot at the theatre where I work, to promote Mamma Mia which is on next week!
Those of you who know me will know it's my 70th birthday next month...never too old to have fun! My first thought in first photo was oh my tummy looks big in that outfit..my second thought was who cares..it's a size 8!

Saw my gp today who I haven’t seen for 2yrs but he’s my original
doc. Been with him over 20yrs but who was the one who told me to lose weight for my Hips and how I started on this journey

as I sat down and was about to talk to him about my hip pain he said wow blondes can I say well done - you look amazing. How much have you lost ?

I said you remember me being bigger ? He said yes. You’ve lost a lot - I said well it’s down to you , you told me to lose weight and said I was large and losing a stone would help

part of me was suprised he remembered me. Even tho been my doc for years he also sees countless patients over the weeks /months etc and been 2yrs

I said I went home and cried - swore a bit then reliesed I needed to do it for dd esp as marriage had broken up and only me for her to rely on etc and had to be Healthier

he was shocked I lost 7s. I said I had to and said the pics I now see of me I’m so shocked how big I was - but I just didn’t see it then. But now I do

anyway. Going to have some more physio on my hips as twinging a bit. Not sure if lowered dose or coz hips are bad - have severe arthritis in both hips

but as I left. He said well done. What I have done is remarkable and wish have def made me live for longer as well as reduce the weight on my joints

Morning!

went to see my cardiologist on Thursday to talk about my black outs. I now have a diagnosis of pots. I’m hoping I can manage it without medication but we shall see. Mine had been around for years but much worse since I lost weight. I have multiple near faints a day. Cardiologist doesn’t know I’m an ex obese lady or on mj as he didn’t ask. However. He did talk about it! My blood pressure was never massively high or elevated really, but now it’s borderline low. He was explaining that weight loss induced blood pressure changes particularly with meds can cause more symptoms. So though my blood pressure is only just under normal I have many more symptoms because my body was used to a higher blood pressure for ages.

very interesting!

Does anyone ever have weeks where suppression is super high out of the blue? I’ve felt my suppression hasn’t been great, I’ve taken a slightly longer gap as I’m skipped my next dose for anaesthesia and my suppression is so high. Which isn’t helping either the heat or the heart. When I take my next dose I’m going to start tapering again.

tried to weigh myself this morning but battery is dead in the scales. Ffs.

So sorry to hear about your ongoing health issues. Why didnt you mention MJ? I always mentin and have had no negative feedback

FurForksSake · 21/06/2026 10:45

Honestly? No idea. I tell most doctors, and surgeons and physio and everyone else! I think he brought it up first and juat assumed it didn’t apply to me that I just went with it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/06/2026 19:31

Would it not day on your medical notes you were much heavier

mine did and when saw hip man he was says you were 17s but obv not that. So may be an error - let’s get you weighed

i said yes I was but lost 7s so I’m 10.4

for being a fatty I never had high bp Was always 120/80 and still am

sorry what is pots @FurForksSake

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 21/06/2026 20:39

I think my bp before was 120/80 and it’s now 95/57

pots is postural orthostatic tachycardia.

because I have hypermobility and collagen issues my blood pools in my feet and legs and so when I stand up I don’t have enough blood going to my brain and my heart goes mad trying to pump it where it should be. So my blood pressure stays relatively the same and my heart rate shoots up to 150

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/06/2026 21:17

strange how we can be the same. But diff

i am hyper mobile but never had issues with bp

normal blood pressure for most adults is considered to be:

  • Ideal: around 120/80 mmHg
  • Normal range: 90/60 to 120/80 mmHg

so you are now ideal and I’m normal

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 21/06/2026 21:26

I have hypermobility spectrum disorder and fibromyalgia and pots, so lots of issues with my collagen. Also massively affects my bowels, scars, skin, allergies and have knackered my ankles, hips, knees, spine, shoulders, wrists… fingers… teeth. It’s all just falling apart. Apparently with the ehlers danlos / hyper mobility spectrum disorder you have leakier vessels.

FurForksSake · 21/06/2026 21:27

I also argued that it isn’t low truly but cardiologist said that symptomaticalky it is.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/06/2026 10:02

Tho losing weight must have helped all joints or mj helped joint pain

FurForksSake · 22/06/2026 12:25

My back and hips are worse than ever. And my neck 🤣
