We have all been on for heading up to 20mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health
most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it

And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did
Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots

I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.
To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely - and we are finding it def harder to keep weight off with lower doses

only 2 words to say 😂😂

Looking amazing @Blondeshavemorefun

FurForksSake · 15/06/2026 12:19

I weighed this morning, first time in ages and I was terrified as I feel like I’ve not been disciplined in ages. 8st3, so very much in ballpark. Phew!

we are going out for dinner for Father’s Day, I’ll be taking a cushion as it’s metal chairs. Grown.

20bloodypounds · 15/06/2026 13:53

@Blondeshavemorefun wow you look fantastic. Great dress too.

20bloodypounds · 15/06/2026 13:54

@FurForksSake good news indeed. I've lost the couple of pounds I put on recently. It's a reminder that I have to be vigilent.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2026 14:01

Thanks all

and I had many lovely comments on the day. A few I was chatting to seemed a bit weird /vague then came back to me later and said they thought I was a stranger chatting to them 😂

and reliesed it was me. 7s thinner and totally didn’t recognize me !

I felt good and was a lovely day

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2026 14:02

Well done @FurForksSakeand @20bloodypounds. We all have to be vigilant

but much easier to have small ballpark like I do (of 3) and if I tip it then to be really good for 1-2weeks and it’s off again

FurForksSake · 15/06/2026 17:43

What dose are you down to @Blondeshavemorefun ? Definitely having a small ballpark is helpful.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2026 18:39

Is anyone considering switching to the wegovy pill? Im currently on 10mg mounjaro but taking it every 10 days. The pill seems like a cheaper option for maintenance? My pharmacy has approved me for it but I can't get it until 2nd July. It's half the price but I wonder how well it will work?? At least when I started mj there were plenty of people who could give a positive review. Not sure whether to just go for it and trust the science 😂 I've lost 10 stone by trusting mj so it should be easy to trust the new pill??? Help!!

Redlightbulb · 15/06/2026 21:09

Not at maintenance & I was considering the pills for maintenance but from what I heard it isn't much cheaper than the jabs? I am surprised you have seen it at half the price. When you say half the price.. is that the starter dose is half the price of the MJ 10mg? you would probably need to move up to a higher dose of the pill.
So for me the primary reason is cost and I have been put off by the stipulations on how it is taken. (it needs to be taken daily on an empty stomach after fasting for 8 hours with no more than 120ml of plain water. You then cannot eat or drink anything for 30 mins. If you don't follow these rules then the pills are not effective.. it's not like they are just a bit less effective - it is like not taking anything at all)
Also there is the thing of a pill being less effective than the jab anyway & the fact that you are coming from MJ.. it is like a double whammy with the Wegovy jab being less effective & a pill version even more so.
I don't mean to put you off.. but I feel that pharmacies are pushing it like they did with the Wegovy jabs when the MJ price increased. Knowing that it wasn't as good as MJ & from what I have seen a lot of people had to move back to MJ as Wegovy just didn't work for them.
Personally I would wait a few months to see how others fare before trying.

On a general note I still have 2 stone to go & have for the last 6 months.
Struggling on 15mg of MJ so I don't think something less effective would work for me unfortunately!

FurForksSake · 15/06/2026 21:15

@Redlightbulb sorry to hear you are struggling with your last two stone. You’ve done so well.

in terms of the pills I think I feel similar to you, I’d need a lot of convincing. Injecting doesn’t bother me at all.

Interesting @Redlightbulb. I didn’t know all that

I knew it was daily. Another pill to take along with my naproxen co codimal
ans omprezole 😉

but not the other stuff

for me not an issue to take at 7 and not eat from 11pm and then to eat breakie at 8am

are you calorie counting ?

ermm. not as I should be tbh.
my stockpile of pens runs out this month so will be ordering at the new price next week.
I am hoping this will be a kick up the backside to get to the finish line
The W pill also cannot be taken with some other meds but the ones you take might be ok.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2026 21:28

But they have said about the cost and how cheap it is

tho I think you have to start back at 2.5 but what W is for that dose (1.5) and work up

Current prices are approximately:

  • 1.5 mg (30 tablets): ~£99–£129/month
  • 4 mg: ~£105–£136/month
  • 9 mg: ~£119–£143/month
  • 25 mg (maintenance dose): ~£170–£198/month

Why aren’t you cal counting ?

as if eating too much you won’t lose weight

My provider Medicine Market Place haven't announced the pill prices yet but for comparison their W jab prices:

7.2mg £202
2.4mg £135
1.7mg £117
1mg £92
0.5mg £92
0.25mg £92

There isn't really a big enough difference in price between the jabs & pills for my liking.
Bigger drop coming from MJ of course (still not great) but it is a different drug.
