We have all been on for heading up to 20mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health
most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it

And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did
Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots

I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.
To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely - and we are finding it def harder to keep weight off with lower doses

only 2 words to say 😂😂

We all seem to stuff ourselves and struggle with no mj /low doses

I think a big part of it is due to this being a thread where consolation and excuses will be the reply to posters gaining or not being able to put things in places to help themselves cope when on a lower dose. Not that when the original weight has been lost is the time to be putting lifestyle changes in place. It really should have be done from day one. But for me the bottom line is if people never intended coming off Mounjaro in the first place where was the incentive to make lifestyle changes/work on yourself from the get go?

This is a thread that must feel like a very comfy pair of slippers and that’s fine but there’s a common theme running through it that’s self explanatory

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2026 15:09

Or maybe some do need the small dose of drug to stop obesity

I agree but it has to involve more than that.

Theres a big difference between stay on it and maintain and stay on it and regain weight (and know that excuses will be made for you on the thread because in your own words We all seem to stuff ourselves and struggle with no mj /low doses)

We’ll all need a bag of tricks to help us keep the weight off to the end of our days but there isn’t really any thought of that here. The emphasis is very much on continued use of Mounjaro and consolation when posters have regained.

Good morning and happy Friday one and all.
Good luck to the WWJ's and have a lovely weekend.
I am still very happy with life and weight loss/maintenance but I have had a massive energy dip/ongoing fatigue due to ongoing health issues - long term back pain - side effects of pain relief drugs and on top of this the hyperparathyroidism (awaiting operation for this) At the moment I am going to concentrate on looking after my energy levels and maintain my current weight...all plans are in place.
My thoughts are with each and everyone of you lovely people - we all have our challenges don't we. I would have struggled massively to get to my happy weight without the support of this group and I am so grateful for all the postivity and care shown by members of the group. I feel so tired today but not down or unhappy - quite the reverse - apart from fatigue i am having the happiest time of my life ...finally! I hope everyone is OK ...thinking of you all. What a team we are 💐❤️🌸

Weighed this morning fearfully after Easter and treats. Still 8st4, so just over target but in my window of tolerance.

Well done 💐 hope you are doing OK through difficult times 🤗

Found you all! I thought it had gone quiet..

glad to find you all still here and plugging away. I’ll have a proper read of everything tomorrow. Very interested in that dopamine theory so will look into the books suggested

I’ve slipped off the wagon massively these last couple of weeks . I had a gap of 3-4 weeks without jabbing and boy did that food noise come back! Found myself scoffing M&S rocky roads of an evening with very little restraint. 5 lbs up over the last month from keeping within 2 lb easily.

I clearly need MJ still .. just need to find an affordable and manageable dose . Got 3 doses of 5 left and will need to buy another pen.

All the very best. My downfall was always a really good carrot cake...I had to keep sampling different ones didn't I? 🤣🤣If MJ was more affordable i would/might stay on it for life...as it has been life changing for me. I guess if someone has high blood pressure like me they wouldn't stop taking medication would they? Despite me doing regular exercise and being in correct BMI range for nearly a year I still have to take the tablets. For many people controlling weight is a lifelong struggle based on lots of factors - research still ongoing!

FurForksSake · 10/04/2026 09:06

@Azuresky68 I’m exhausted, but we carry on.
any closer to your surgery? Is there anything they can do to help how you are feeling before your surgery?

Azuresky68 · 10/04/2026 09:09

@WorriedRelative just catching up...fantastic results and good to hear positive feedback from a clinician. Well done 💐💐💐

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/04/2026 09:16

Morning 2lb off this morning, 8 to go till original goal again.

Ah @Azuresky68 fatigue is the worst part of any health issue, well that's my issue. I was actually saying that to my GP this week, I can manage the pain most of the time but the fatigue gets me down so much. Hugs and solidarity from me.

It is an ongoing struggle despite having firm lifestyle changes in place. This thread has been a massive support from 2024 for all of us, we have supported each other on and off MN, there is no comfy slipper attitude here. Many of us have ongoing health issues, had operations and have had major upheaval in our lives being on MJ since 2024.

We are still here, the majority are maintaining with a minority gaining and back on it. This will never be easy, we are using MJ to keep us on track while we do the hard part now, maintaining.

There is obviously a fear of the noise returning and being unmanageable but we all know that eventually we need to lower the dose and get to a manageable level that suits our bodies.

This thread has always been a safe place to be honest and get support with the way we view food. I am not sure that evidence or accountability posts are needed continually. If you read back the numerous threads there are meal plans, emotional regulation towards food support, but also words like stuffing our faces or god i am like an addict pacing for a chocolate fix!

Happy friday everyone, onwards and downwards for me 😍😍

You are doing amazingly well. I just need to pace myself but still keep active and not keep too low on calories so I am concentrating on maintaining at my current healthy weight instead of striving to go lower. Combination of too restrictive a diet plus meds plus condition contibutes massively to fatigue but i am lucky that I am retired so only do my theatre job on a casual basis. I am a priority for the surgery so shouldnt be too long a wait.

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/04/2026 09:19

@wohmum hello I forgot to say earlier, 🥰

@WorriedRelative that's a great result with your Bupa health check.

I've not eaten much chocolate as I prefer dark chocolate. If I buy milk I would have a couple of squares but DH would scoff it. X

Azuresky68 · 10/04/2026 09:24

@NippyNinjaCrab great news regarding weight loss. Thanks for you lovely post and reply to me too. Agree with everything you say ..not a comfy slippers group at all although I am still in my (very glamorous) dressing gown. Need to get ready as I am off to see my gorgeous hairdresser...so good that my fella (aka known as the BF) still thinks I am a natural blonde 😅😅😅

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/04/2026 09:28

@Azuresky68 laughing at that revelation, well you are, you look perfectly natural haha. I am the same, I need to move and get these mutts out a good hike while we have some sunshine. X

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/04/2026 13:27

What a lot of posts to catch up on

I do have to say that I think our group is supportive and we don’t make excuses but things in life are thrown at us and we have to cope

we’ve all been together for almost 2yrs and know each other well on it and like to think that we support each other - if that’s a pair of comfy slippers then so be it

we all know what we have to do as does anyone who loses weight but that is where the struggle is with any diet /weight loss and many do put weight back on whether ww sw or whatever

is it such a bad thing to keep on mj if it limits food noise and helps with aches and pains and keeps most of us on an even keel ?

obesity is a medical condition and if take medication for say BP that helps - why is it frowned upon to stay on mj?

esp as most of us have to pay for it

Ah we talking chocolate.. kit kats are my downfall. Not the chunky ones, the normal ones, I do get a pack sometimes but they now last a couple weeks instead of a couple days.

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/04/2026 20:48

Nothing tastes the same on MJ (thank goodness for some things) 😂
I like honeycomb things, I've not had ice cream in a while either.

I need some recommendations for hotels/apartments in either Lanzarote, Tenerife or Portugal from you well travelled bunch. Apologies we are right off thread topic now 👏 xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/04/2026 21:00

What kind of holiday ? I rent an apartment in San Blas tenerife. So self catering but eat literally across the street every day tho can buy stuff from local taxi ride from Aldi if want to eat in

OP posts:
