We have all been on for heading up to 20mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health
most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it

And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did
Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots

I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.
To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely - and we are finding it def harder to keep weight off with lower doses

only 2 words to say 😂😂

@Jellybelly80 I like your rainbow theory. To eat within my calories I often find that I only have 2 meals, brunch and dinner. This morning I was busy so it was 12.30 before I had anything to eat (except tea, water, coffee). I was a bit hungry and for the last hour my tummy was rumbling occasionally. Previously I would have grabbed something between phone calls - a mars bar or similar - and gobbled it down, but that's a 'small rainbow'. I survived fine waiting a little longer and feel good about it now.

@NippyNinjaCrab I liked that article you posted, certainly food for thought. I wonder how much dosing regimes will adapt as more evidence builds.

OhWise1 · 04/04/2026 02:51

@azuresky, Iwas wondwring where I can find this article as i wanted to sebd to a friend who isn't in Mumsnet. I can't find a way to copy and paste your text. Thanks again ...the Science of Dopamine really is relevant to me !

it was what came up first when I did a google search. It’s from chatGPT so even though there were loads of articles after it I just chose that one as it’s what I was looking for. I’ll search my history and get a link for you. The dopamine makes sense to me because I was at an ADHD conference recently and there was so much said about the ‘dopamine hit’ that even pertained to those who weren’t ND. It was quite staggering.

Many thanks. Yes definitely very interesting. If you asked Chat GpT a question i could ask the same question? I use Chat GPT and have found it really helpful for lots of things

Morning! We went to a buffet restaurant last night, said he was surprised how much k ate, but what he dint notice was that actually the three plates I did have only had a few things on and one of those I left quite a bit of. It might have been one plate of food if I’d planned it better 🤣 ds2 made us all eat cucumber and grapes with our food.

today I’m still full so going to see if I can get as far as possible before I eat as a bit of a rest. I was supposed to jab yesterday but didn’t get a chance. I’m going to do it this evening I think.

PoemsForTea · 05/04/2026 09:25

Hello you lot, some good updates from augusty peeps 🙂
What plans do people have today? I have my mum and dad coming for a meal, not sure what yet 😆 I did a beef ragu in the slow cooker yesterday and it looks fab so thinking it might become a lasagne. I have fallen back in love with cooking and food due to the Bored of lunch recipes. I genuinely haven't had a poor recipe yet. Lots of flavours and slow cooked stuff.
18 rolled in at 3.30am so probably wont see her much before teatime, i had already had all my sleep by the time she got in 😆
Ive been doing small weights and core exercises at home and starting to see and feel a positive change now which is good to keep going.
Off to Cardiff next weekend for the womens rugby so will be extra careful this week to balance out food and drinks!
Have a lovely sunday everyone, however you are spending it 💚

FurForksSake · 05/04/2026 14:37

We’ve done an egg hunt and played quite a bit of Mario kart as Ds just got a new switch. Dinner is going to be calorific. Lamb and all the trimmings. It’s been cooking since 10, hopefully it will be nice and falling apart. I’ve eaten a cornflake cake and a biscoff cream egg.

I injected this morning, 25 clicks and 0.3 by syringe. I’ve no idea how much that is of a 12.5 pen.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2026 15:44

.3 would be half so if 12.5 would be 6.25

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 05/04/2026 15:48

Plus the 25 clicks… so like 10? I’m going to have a rough week I think, but I’ll cope.

morbidcuriosity · 05/04/2026 16:30

I worked it out at 11.4mg. @FurForksSake

FurForksSake · 05/04/2026 16:32

Fgs I was in such a rush this morning I should have worked that out. I took 7.5ish last time. I hope I won’t get lots of side effects, I’m guessing my body will be ok with it after all this time

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2026 17:10

24c is 5 plus the 6.25 so slightly over 11.25

and last time you took 7.5 - you need to be careful @FurForksSake and either click or inject or work out the both

It seemed like such a tiny amount, I’m cross with myself. I’ve eaten terribly for the last two weeks so if it cuts that off it will be worth it!

OhWise1 · 06/04/2026 10:27

Just under 11.5g (11.458) Please be careful, it is a very dangerous pursuit if you are not confident with the maths! I am sure if you post on here before you dose, people will help you with the numbers 🙂

OhWise1 · 06/04/2026 10:30

I am feeling so cross with myself for eating 500 calories worth of chocolate yesterday! 🍫😭

FurForksSake · 06/04/2026 10:53

I don’t think there’s any danger, I’ll just potentially have more side effects this week. They start on a low dose and taper up and for that reason. I was on 12.5mg not that long ago so I’ll just have a more side effect week k think. I’m annoyed as I think I’ll have a tough week next week if I try and drop back down to 7.5.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2026 18:55

I haven’t really had any chocolate but had eaten a lot of chicken and corn beef slices

OP posts:
morbidcuriosity · 06/04/2026 21:20

@OhWise1 I have a whole easter egg and the chocolates. Think near 900 calories.. its all good. And @FurForksSakei wouldn't worry. Bet you will be fine, maybe have a lot of supression but will be ok.
Ive jabbed another 10mg today. Next week is my remaining liquid so will be nearer 12 I reckon. I do t waste any. Still weighed in at 10.10 today so happy about that.

WorriedRelative · 07/04/2026 12:54

I had my work health check with BUPA the other day. The last one was pre-MJ and the doctor was absolutely over the moon with my stats. She was really positive about MJ generally too which was great.

BMI, body composition, blood pressure, heart rate and weight to height ratio all in the green zone! Still waiting for the cholesterol results.

Irritatingly they lopped another centimetre off my height though!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/04/2026 13:44

Great about stats. Not so much height but just forget that cm loss

@morbidcuriosity great at the weight you want

OP posts:
20bloodypounds · 08/04/2026 16:11

@WorriedRelative that must have felt great!

Relative of mine used to be a nurse doing these kind of health checks, said it was soul destroying seeing man after man (most of them were male) middle aged, massively stressed, overweight in all the wrong places. Still swearing blind that they ate a Mediterranean diet, drank within the recommend alcohol units and took moderate excercise every day!

I'm off on holiday in a couple of weeks and have a very sociable time in the run up. Out tonight and tomorrow lunchtime. Next week I'm out 3 times and also have neighbours coming for dinner, the following week out twice in 3 days. I think my holiday is likely to be more abstemious and healthier than the next fortnight!

wohmum · 09/04/2026 00:28

Found you all! I thought it had gone quiet..

glad to find you all still here and plugging away. I’ll have a proper read of everything tomorrow. Very interested in that dopamine theory so will look into the books suggested

I’ve slipped off the wagon massively these last couple of weeks . I had a gap of 3-4 weeks without jabbing and boy did that food noise come back! Found myself scoffing M&S rocky roads of an evening with very little restraint. 5 lbs up over the last month from keeping within 2 lb easily.

I clearly need MJ still .. just need to find an affordable and manageable dose . Got 3 doses of 5 left and will need to buy another pen.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2026 08:38

We all seem to stuff ourselves and struggle with no mj /low doses

FurForksSake · 09/04/2026 08:52

Weighed this morning fearfully after Easter and treats. Still 8st4, so just over target but in my window of tolerance.
