hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

Glad it wears off. I've spent today either asleep or wishing I was.

ThatMerryFox · 10/03/2026 19:42

Ok, so I planned to have my first jab at 8pm tonight, but I'm terrified. I'm so anxious and I'm not normally like this. It's not even a needle phobia, I'm worried about side effects. I have even considered splitting the dose. Has anyone tried 1.25mg? Or am I being over cautious?

What's your starting dose? that seems quite high. Just go for it! surely severe side effects are v rare? (caveat: I know nothing!)

ThatMerryFox · 10/03/2026 19:58

@fantom I know even less! Lol. My starting dose is 2.5mg Mounjaro. I was thinking I could split it in two doses. Apparently that's not a good idea. I've been reading up on it.

Greycatclub · 10/03/2026 20:20

No don’t split! Deep breathe, take your time and remember the side effects generally are fairly minor :)

ETPhoneHome19 · 11/03/2026 07:32

I took my first 2.5 on Sunday and I’m really pleased so far, the dulling of food noise is incredible. It’s been really easy to stick to my food plan and only one small side effect yesterday, loose stool but been fine since.

MoneyJo · 11/03/2026 07:45

I still keep thinking nothing much has changed except I do find food so much less tempting. I would normally pick at anything around and that has really stopped. I don't think I'm losing very quickly but I guess that's not a bad thing. And it's still less than a week 🤣

anotherday11 · 11/03/2026 09:42

After 4 days of no food noise and barely wanting to eat, day 5 brings a ravenous appetite which is reassuring and also scary at the same time. I can see myself struggling to get past these next 3 days until jab day. I suppose this is where your good eating habits are meant to kick in and tide you over.

What's others experience with appetite suppression after the jab, does it last a couple of days and wears off, or do you get the full week's suppression?

HolyMoly24 · 11/03/2026 10:51

@anotherday11 I jab on a Monday and I usually have a gradual increase in appetite from the Friday onwards. I’m trying to counteract this by sticking to around 1400 cals, even on days where I have a lot of suppression and don’t feel like I need to eat so that I’m not ravenous as the jab wears off.

Greycatclub · 11/03/2026 10:55

it’s jab day today for me, I was fine until yesterday so it’s the last two days that are a struggle for me

Beehivebabe · 11/03/2026 12:23

Just done my 2nd jab. I’ve lost 9lbs in 10 days! (I started dieting the day I ordered to get my head in the game) My starting weight was 19st 13lb so did expect to lose a good amount in the first week.

@anotherday11 I found suppression tapered off a bit yesterday day 6, but fullness from eating was still there.

Sameoldsameold78 · 11/03/2026 21:42

Did my third jab yesterday, I’ve only lost 3lb but I have also started HRT patches and I had a weird sort of period this week so hoping that’s why.
my stomach feels flatter and my jeans are looser.
ive bought a second pen which is 5mg.
last week I was starving but this week I’ve had a reduction in my appetite.

It's interesting to hear how long it takes for the effect to start to wear off. I took my first dose on Sunday and have had good appetite reduction the last few days. Is it generally around day 4-5 that you feel it wearing off or is it different for everyone? Forewarned is forearmed I suppose!

fantom · 11/03/2026 23:04

Is it okay to bring jab day forwards by a day? I’d prefer to do it Saturday rather than Sunday, if it’s going to knock me out for a few days.

Beehivebabe · 11/03/2026 23:25

@fantom I read someone was jabbing every 5 days as that worked for her. So a day early should be fine. The leaflet mentions if you jab late to ensure 3 days before the next one.

LoudBiscuit · 12/03/2026 07:35

Greycatclub · 09/03/2026 09:39

How’s everyone doing exercise wise?

I’m two months in from a hip replacement so I’m still a bit limited, walking the dog every day now fo about twenty minutes, and doing my physio when I remember, but I’m hoping to do more soon.

Behealthy2026 · 12/03/2026 07:43

i Was definitely super tired on day 6 and needed a nap during my lunch break at home. Even then I could have slept for me.

agree that the food noise comes back. I did my jab late in the evening yesterday but I think next week I will take it in the afternoon as I really ate more than I should, also had a chocolate eclair.

weighted myself last night and lost 9lb do super pleased and a great motivation. I have around 5 stones to lose. I don't have a target in mind but want to be a uk size 12/14.

what supplements is everyone taking? I need something for brain fog as well. Not taking any atm

So yesterday was my week 1 weigh in and I’m four pounds down. Pleased with that. Didn’t realise I even had food noise before but this last week, I’ve been having healthy meals, no snacks in between, the first few days I went from breakfast till about 4pm without even wanting to eat and then had some fruit to tide me over till dinner. Smaller portions than usual too. Last couple of days I had slightly larger portions but still no snacks - in fact I went to a friends for coffee yesterday and sat in front of a tin of chocolate digestives for an hour and wasn’t even tempted! Normally I’d have been hoovering them up.

minimal side effects - I felt nauseous and a bit lightheaded the day of the first jab, been a touch constipated all week (but going), nothing else.

after all my worries about taking it I feel a bit daft now!

MoneyJo · 12/03/2026 07:51

Jab day for me but I will do it this evening.

Down 3 and a half pounds.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 12/03/2026 09:20

Second jab last night and weigh in this morning.

Fairly pleased with that. No mad side effects, and it hasn’t felt too onerous. Definitely found it easier to resist snacks, and stopped eating a couple of meals mid way which is frankly unheard of. Suppression definitely wore off for me by Sunday night. Drinking 3l of water a day, light exercise. Going to focus on what I eat this week (rather than what I’m not eating iyswim).

Hi everyone, been searching for this thread for a few days 😂….I’m glad I found it. I picked up my first mounjaro pen on Monday evening and I did my first dose last night, about 8pm. Woke early morning, about 4:30, with a fuzzy head. No other side effects up to now. Still feel hungry, but struggled to finish my protein shake this morning. Really hoping the 2.5ml dose does suppress my appetite a bit, but I’ve heard so many say it did nothing. Will keep everyone updated over the next few days!

Teabing · 12/03/2026 13:20

Hi. Could I join? MJ has just arrived - think I might take my first dose on Sunday as we usually socialise on Friday or Saturday and I go to the gym on Sunday morning. Having said that, I’m tempted to get it over and done with but worried about the possibility of weekend side effects…. Dilemma! I have 2 stone to lose - can’t wait for it to be gone.

ShebaQueen · 12/03/2026 14:29

I'm due to take my third dose (Mounjaro) tomorrow, I've lost 9.5lbs in just under 2 weeks. My provider Medexpress contacted me about my next order and asked me to do an online questionnaire. On the basis of my responses, they've recommended I stick with 2.5 for now. I am not sure what to do, tempted to stick as I struggled with side effects in week 1, but have been feeling much better in week 2. On the other hand, I know that titration is the usual method and maybe I'll end up plateauing on 2.5. I have about another 3 stone to lose. It feels too soon to be thinking about my next order, I am only 2 weeks in.
Anyone else with a similar dilemma?

Depending on your comfort levels with counting the clicks I'd be tempted to get a 5mg pen and give yourself half a dose. Then if you feel the need to go up halfway through the month you can. If not it makes each dose cheaper
