Hi,

Started on Wegovy last weekend. Had been considering it for a while but stepping on the scales and realising I was at my heaviest weight ever pushed me into going for it. Have around 20kg to lose.

No major side effects yet, a little more gassy than usual and a bit more tired but nothing unmanageable or majorly out of the ordinary.

I'm definitely feeling some suppression already, I'm still feeling hungry but its like it stays in my stomach rather than becoming all consuming in my head. That's an absolute revelation.

I'm really happy with that, wasn't really expecting much from the first dose, but this is the first week in a long time where the number on the scale actually went down!

Ideally I'd rather stay on the lower doses if it stays like this, I think I'll manage to get into better habits long term if I still feel some manageable hunger at regular intervals rather than full suppression of appetite but going to play it by ear.

MoneyJo · 07/03/2026 19:51

The only side effect I've felt so far is wanting to burp! I'm not a very burpy person but I have felt like I need to burp quite a bit over the last 3 days!

Clemdfandango · 07/03/2026 20:44

Hello all, my MJ arrived today and I took it about 30 minutes ago.

I am worried about the side effects but I have a lot to lose and I'm sick of being fat! I'd been thinking about WLIs for a few months now and decided to bite the bullet before I get any bigger.

Looking forward to reading everyone's progress and getting on the scales next Saturday morning.

Hello All. Just popping in to say Hello, today is my 1 year anniversary of WLI and just reading your comments, you are where I was 1 year ago. But I can say it's absolutely worth it. I was also anxious for taking the first dose, it sat in my fridge for 2 days thinking I could do this on my own. I took on a Friday night so that any side effects hopefully happened over night or over the weekend. I'm lucky, I didn't have any.

I'm currently 89lb down, with another 21lb to go. I haven't gone above 3.75mg so have been counting the clicks for the last 3 months.

You've got this, you'll all be amazing

@JibbaJabba Mine's been in the fridge since Wednesday. I'm building up the courage to take it next Tuesday evening. I'll let you all know how I get on x

Hm I assumed it was the Mounjaro making me so tired. Sounds like it’s not affecting others as badly though.

I’ve actually gone to bed straight after my kids the last two nights and slept really deeply. I didn’t feel particularly tired until that point but then it hit me like a ton of bricks and I had no choice but to go to bed! I’m usually a night owl so I’m thinking it must be the MJ

ShebaQueen · 08/03/2026 08:02

Morning all, just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
Day 9 for me and I finally feel that the side effects are starting to wear off a little bit - hurrah for that! I took fewer painkillers yesterday and no Gaviscon at all. I think not being at work helped, as last week the overhead lights and the screens amplified my headaches,
My jeans feel a tiny bit looser already and my stomach feels softer and sort of squishy, is anyone else experiencing the same?

Clemdfandango · 08/03/2026 11:09

I took my first dose yesterday but looking at the pen, I'm not sure I did it correctly.

Can anyone tell me how many doses are left please? To me it looks like 4 by my DH sees 3, so I'm so confused!

I've attached a photo.

How’s everyone’s weekend been?

I ended up doing the jab at 1am on Friday night as I had built up such anxiety about the needle/injection, I had put it off for 2 days and it was a case of just effing doing it! 😂

Can’t believe I didn’t feel it at all! I figured if I was gonna get any symptoms, I’d be asleep lol. As it turns out, the suppression started straight away when I woke up. Usually I’m always ravenous for breakfast, Sat morning - no food noise whatsoever. I just had a cup of tea and that lasted me til 2pm when we went to a cafe for an English breakfast. The meal I normally get, I could barely manage eating a quarter of it and was full! A few hours later I felt nausea at even the thought of food, ended up having no dinner Sat night and just a cup of hot water, lemon and ginger which helped with the nausea massively.

Sunday morning, again woke up with no appetite. I had half a slice of toast, that is unheard of for me! It’s now 7pm and I’m still not hungry but know I need to eat something. Will probably have chicken and rice in a bit. It’s been very strange as I’ve not had a single packet of crisps, chocs, biscuits or any fizzy drinks all weekend. I just don’t feel like it?

How do people cope with strong suppression? Do you have things like a protein shake and drink it throughout the day?

This looks right to me! 3 official doses left, and then what’s left under the last line is the ‘bonus dose’

PamelaShipman80 · 08/03/2026 19:37

So many of us in the same boat feeling terrified to do it and then wondering what the fuss was about afterwards…but I’m feeling a bit nervous about doing it again tomorrow!
weigh day for me tomorrow, hoping for 2lbs off! I haven’t had the suppression other people seem to have, I’ve been fairly hungry at times although I’ve only been giving myself much smaller portions than usual. I tend to have a fairly decent diet anyway, so trying to stick to foods I normally have but just less of them! Good luck with weigh ins this week everyone!

Engineeredit · 08/03/2026 19:44

I’m really scared I’ll get the injection wrong. It seems really complicated. Then scared of side effects.

Ah, thank you so much!

I thought I'd injected nothing 😳

Greycatclub · 08/03/2026 19:54

I think the instructions make it look complicated but it reality it’s not at all. Take 2/3 mins once you’ve done it once :)

Usernameismyname01 · 08/03/2026 20:44

I went on tick-tock to see someone physically do the injections as the instructions were a lot to understand

musicforthesoul · 08/03/2026 21:38

2nd dose just taken, that went a lot quicker than the first time now I know what I'm doing.

I looked up a video on YouTube of someone injecting before my first dose, helped me get my head around the instructions. I think it was mostly nerves causing me to overthink it though. Was much better this time as I knew what to expect.

PamelaShipman80 · 09/03/2026 06:35

Week 1 - 2lbs off! Pleased with this

MoneyJo · 09/03/2026 08:26

I'm only on my 4th day but feeling a bit disappointed this morning. I do weigh daily (which I know is a bit controversial!) and have been happy to see that I've already gone down a couple of pounds. But today I am back at my starting weight. I do know that there are always fluctuations so I'm telling myself it's not a problem but I'm not sure I'm listening to myself! I have stopped any form of snacking, had a roast dinner yesterday but far smaller than usual and no seconds. Has anyone else had this?

HolyMoly24 · 09/03/2026 08:35

@MoneyJo I weighed daily too over the last week and on two days I fluctuated by 3 lbs and then the next day it would be down again. Try not to overthink it and keep going.

Week 1 done and 6.5lbs down. Really pleased although I know a lot of that will be water weight. I had two birthday celebrations for family members over the weekend but managed not to go completely off the rails which is a first.

Ready to do jab no2 shortly.

@Greycatclub sorry only just saw that you have similar stats to me. Love having someone else in the same boat.

OneMoreTimeBaby · 09/03/2026 09:19

Morning everyone, can I join please

I jabbed last night for my second first time; I lost 3 stone last year and stopped around July time - I’ve put 2 stone back on as I went back to my old ways of loads of toast, chocolate and crisps. This time I’m starting with a view to also continuing to maintain once I get to my target

How’s everyone doing exercise wise?

Greycatclub · 09/03/2026 09:43

@HolyMoly24 same week 1 loss as me too!

How’s everyone doing exercise wise?

I'm trying really hard, although I have to force myself to do it. I'm walking for about 20mins every day (as fast as I can - red face and out of breath), have bought some weights and have done some online workouts. I need to find a good playlist or maybe a podcast to listen to while I am walking. I also gave myself the weekend off! How about you @Greycatclub?

HolyMoly24 · 09/03/2026 10:16

@GreycatclubReally rubbish on this front to be honest. I struggle with time as I work condensed hours so I need to work in the evening 4 as well as the day 4 days a week. I also have a toddler who doesn’t sleep so the thought of getting out of bed at the crack of dawn before everyone is up just makes me want to cry.

I have a set of dumbbells at home so I might search up a beginners routine on YouTube that I can do in my lunch break. I’d also like to get back into running again but that may have to be reserve for the weekends.

How are you getting on with the exercise @Greycatclub?

HolyMoly24 · 09/03/2026 10:17

I’m also slightly worried that I messed up my second injection, there was some liquid pooled around the needle while I was doing it so it’s like not all of the liquid went into my body…
