hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

Day two of second week here. Jab this time much easier, felt nothing!

Not really sure of actually hunger level as I’m naturally not so hungry in the morning anyway.

Treat wise, in 9 days I’ve had two biscuits!

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 06/03/2026 11:31

2 biscuits in 9 days - I wouldn’t have believed it possible for me a few days ago, but now who knows! That must feel amazing @Greycatclub .

Checking in. First jab weds evening and I’m feeling good. Easier to say no to treats (but maybe that’s just the motivation of a new regime). I felt properly full after a normal dinner last night and skipped cake and abstained from a choccy box doing the rounds while watching a film together. No side effects so far (touch wood) but I have had a couple of massive burps this morning - nothing sulphurous and perhaps this is more down to the immense quantities of water I am drinking. It’s quite a step up for me quantity wise and I find myself downing glasses to keep on target. Resisting the temptation to weigh myself so far…

Wegome26 · 06/03/2026 00:42

Sorry your are not feeling goodI hope you feel better soon Sheba and adjust to your dose let us know how you feel tomorrow.

Thanks @Wegome26! Still not feeling great today, but thanks to the appetite suppression I am 5.5lbs down in week 1 which is amazing, although probably too fast. That has cheered me up, whilst making me wake up to how terrible my diet was previously! Second jab due tonight - unlike others, I haven't noticed it wearing off at all, but as they say, everyone reacts differently. Good luck to everyone!

ThatMerryFox · 06/03/2026 17:55

Hi all, I received my pen last week, but it's still sitting in the fridge because I'm too anxious to start. I know I'm probably overthinking and reading too many horror stories hasn't helped.

My main concern is side effects. I'm scared something will go wrong. I'm currently 13st 7lbs, 5ft 6ins and my BMI is 30. I'm also prediabetic. I do need to lose weight, but my reason for wanting to start this medicine is to try and get my HBA1C down to within a normal range.

I've pencilled in next Tuesday evening for my first jab as I'm off work for a few days after. Should I be so worried?

MoneyJo · 06/03/2026 18:14

@ThatMerryFox I don't think you should worry. It's a low dose at first so any side effects should be manageable. I was nervous about doing the jab but it was fine. So far I've not had any problems.

Asgoodas · 06/03/2026 18:28

That merry fox- I’ve had little and doing this for the same reasons you are. After a week I feel less ‘unwell’ as my blood pressure has significantly dropped and the symptoms I had for pre diabetes are suppressed. Well worth the side effects.
I get that it’s anxiety inducing, but I thoroughly recommend taking it.
The losing weight is very much a side issue, although I’ll take the win ☺️

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 06/03/2026 18:29

@ThatMerryFox I had the same worry. Then I read in another thread that staying heavy and unhealthy also has bad side effects, so choose which ones you want to risk. So I went for it - early days but ok so far. Good luck whatever you decide!

ShebaQueen · 06/03/2026 18:34

I agree with the others @ThatMerryFox, despite the fact that I haven't felt great this week, the weight is starting to come off already, and I am going ahead with my second jab tonight. I used my pen the day it arrived, definitely don't overthink it, just do it and see how you get on. You can always stop any time you want.

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. It makes such a difference knowing that you all have started and are ok. I'm thinking of doing the first injection in the evening so that I can just go to sleep and forget about it! @ShebaQueen best wishes for your 2nd week 😊

Greycatclub · 06/03/2026 20:58

My heart rates is a little higher for a couple of days but nothing dramatic :)

Wegome26 · 06/03/2026 23:09

@ThatMerryFox i did mine last night just before bed for the same reason! Also you may or may not get side effects but even if you do get some they should subside! I tried mounjaro in 2024 and it was too strong for me (I couldn’t eat) and felt quite bad but the drug doesn’t stay in you body for long felt bad for about 5 days then decided not to do another jab. I’ve plucked up the courage to try again but have gone for wegovy as I read it can be a bit more subtle and I was so sensitive to mounjaro.
you won’t know until you try and like you say staying overweight is risky in itself! Go for it the majority of people are fine.

Usernameismyname01 · 07/03/2026 10:33

I was quite anxious about taking it too, but as pp have said, the risks of staying heavy is my motivation.

I took my first Jab Thursday night and have felt great, nothing to report.

yesterday was strange as no real feelings of wanting food but also when eating I just stopped. Not because I was feeling full but just because I didn’t want anymore

my days are made up of what needs to happen day to day in work, weekends and where do I fit my meals in that I think it will be quite nice to forget that food noise and just eat when I want to rather than thinking it’s lunch time and I should have something to eat otherwise it’s going to mess up the timings of dinner!!!!

have a great day everyone

ETPhoneHome19 · 07/03/2026 11:45

Hi, just awaiting first pen delivery

Asgoodas · 07/03/2026 12:39

Weigh in day for me today. I’ve lost 7lbs🎉 I realise the first week is usually water retention loss (oh the irony with the amount of water I drink) but I am pleased as I’m now below 13 stone 🎉

JabbaJibba · 07/03/2026 15:53

Hello All. Just popping in to say Hello, today is my 1 year anniversary of WLI and just reading your comments, you are where I was 1 year ago. But I can say it's absolutely worth it. I was also anxious for taking the first dose, it sat in my fridge for 2 days thinking I could do this on my own. I took on a Friday night so that any side effects hopefully happened over night or over the weekend. I'm lucky, I didn't have any.

I'm currently 89lb down, with another 21lb to go. I haven't gone above 3.75mg so have been counting the clicks for the last 3 months.

You've got this, you'll all be amazing

Axa264 · 07/03/2026 16:49

Started today on Weygovy slightly scared of the potential side effects but also looking forward to hopefully a more healthy future…

ShebaQueen · 07/03/2026 16:57

That is amazing @JabbaJibba, thank you so much for posting, it's really motivated me!

Wegome26 · 07/03/2026 17:05

FeelingFineNow · 02/03/2026 22:13

I’m on the second week of Wegovy. I need to lose about 2 stone. I weigh on a Friday and lost 4lb last week.
Ive never eaten much in the way of actual meals. For me it was chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc. The food noise for me was terrible. I would lay in bed knowing there were biscuits in the cupboard and would have to eat them before I could sleep.
my diet consisted of:
breakfast - nothing
lunch - a cappuccino
dinner a fairly healthy meal
BUT at bedtime I would eat family size bags of crisps, whole packets of biscuits, family size bars of chocolate.
That has all changed, the food noise is nearly gone. I have had chocolate twice and found it too sweet. I don’t want it anymore.
Side effects were:
a nasty constant headache for the first week, gone now.
A feeling of being full all of the time and nausea.
Constipation.
My diet at the moment is:
Breakfast - nothing
Lunch - a protein shake
Dinner - a small meal or sandwich which I don’t normally finish.
Snack - corner yogurt.
i know this isn’t enough food but it’s all I can manage. I don’t intend to stay on the injections more than three months, so hopefully when I stop I will be able to increase my food intake healthily without slipping back into bad habits.
good luck to all of you new starters.

@FeelingFineNow or anyone else on wegovy when did you notice the effects kick in? I haven’t noticed anything yet still very hungry too my first dose was almost 48 hours ago.
I know this is a starter dose but i had immediate intense suppression on MJ when I tried it (only did one injection) so I thought wegovy would be effective from the get go. I know it’s early but know I’m worrying thy I should have tried MJ again!

Is anyone else feeling fatigued? Like, hit with a sledgehammer can’t keep eyes open fatigue?

I love this, so inspiring thank you!

So you have never gone up to 5mg etc? That’s so good, I’m hoping to stay on the lowest possible dose for as long as I can.

Beehivebabe · 07/03/2026 18:35

@JabbaJibba you have done amazing! Well done. I am only on day 3 but already I am seeing a reduction in hunger, and eating smaller portions. I feel like I am using some willpower but the jab is helping me along. I’m feeling a bit unbothered by eating and that is a first for me. But I have loads to go so early days.

I definitely feel more tired than usual, maybe not as extreme as you're experiencing @DramaDivaDi. I'm only on day 8 but have been going to bed much earlier than usual

Wow! So you've lost 89lb in a year and not gone above 3.75? You've done brilliantly!

I did 2.5mg for 9 months, and then in January moved up to 3.75mg (we don't talk about December 🤣)

Not thinking about food and getting to 4pm and thinking I've not eaten, at the beginning was bizarre. I do get hungry now and there is some food noise, but I've decided to stay low dose, so that's me having to deal with real life.

I've calorie counted along the way and track the protein I eat
