hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

@MoneyJo thank you, yes! My sw was 19st 13, now 18st 10. I would expect to see a good drop if I am dieting, but I am sticking to it as it’s too expensive not to haha! Something has shifted in me though in terms of getting my weight under control so I’m seizing it!!

That is amazing Beehive! Fantastic result!

Beehivebabe · 01/04/2026 20:46

@rockstarshoes thank you - it’s given me a lot of motivation to keep going!

ShebaQueen · 03/04/2026 07:51

Congratulations @Beehivebabe, amazing! I feel the same way about wasting money on an expensive jab if I'm not going to take it seriously and work at it.
Weigh day for me today and I lost a kilo last week, I'll be taking my second jab of my second 2.5 pen tonight. I'm down 6.5 kilos overall in the 5 weeks, so it's steady and I'm happy.

I'm doing well with my protein intake and water, but this has not been a good week for exercise, so I need to improve that. I also need to keep away from all of the Easter chocolate in this house, but so far it hasn't been a problem.
Good luck to everyone, and keep on keeping on

MoneyJo · 03/04/2026 08:35

I was very pleased last night to get a 5th dose out of my first pen. This took the decision out of my hands about when to go up a dose. I'm definitely still getting suppression and feeling full on 2.5 so now I'm wondering whether to make my new 5 pen do 2.5 when I start it next week, or carry on with my plan of going up to 3.75.

Beehivebabe · 03/04/2026 12:57

@MoneyJo I had a go at forcing the first pen just to see what happened (I had already started pen 2 anyway) but we could only get half way round with the clicks so didn’t get to the number 1. Did you get to that and get a full dose? I must admit I feel a bit clueless with the extra dose!

MoneyJo · 03/04/2026 13:35

Yes I did @Beehivebabe - I had to use a pair of pliers but it popped round to the 1, or just about. My resident biochemist reckoned that I may have been a tiny drop under but that it was pretty much a full dose. I certainly feel like I had the usual amount. I've got one more pen that might do the same but then I'll be buying the next after the changes to the pens.

Can you do that? Buy a 5mg pen but only do half doses? I am still getting the suppression onn2.5mg so don't really want to move up but as l get it monthly, don't want to leave myself short

It seems so. I'm now planning to do 3.75 which is 45 clicks instead of 60. You might need to buy extra needles.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 03/04/2026 15:47

Had first dose of second 2.5 pen. Only lost 0.3kg this week but it’s been hard going. Supression is fine but I have had food foisted upon me and it’s hard to say no thanks, or thanks I’ll save it for later. I’m wondering whether I just need to be rude. MIL gets really upset if we don’t eat her food or even just fail to clear a plate. DC are sad if I don’t have a slice of the cake they’ve made. Out yesterday and everyone had an ice cream, I said I didn’t want one, ice cream appeared regardless and I was accused of being difficult. Seems like a flipping minefield. I end up eating more than I want just to keep the peace and then I feel uncomfortable and cross afterwards. My coat pocket is full of biscuits I have pretended to eat. How is everyone else navigating this? I’m beginning to appreciate how much of my obesity is social pressure.

Teabing · 03/04/2026 18:06

@SmallTreeDeepRoots Just decline politely. Who on earth is accusing you of being difficult for declining an ice cream? My MIL used to be like this - forever pressing food on us. DH would invariably accept after a bit of badgering. Re the DCs cake, a little slice won’t hurt once in a while

This is a thing for me too. My friend came round yesterday armed with pastries and croissant and l just didn't want one which is obviously very out of character .

But if someone offered me a cigarette, l wouldn't hesitate to say l don't smoke.

It's infuriating. But what l have started to do is tell people in advance that l am making different choices so last week, when l went shopping with my friend,l told her before we went l would be having a salad and not stopping for coffee and cake . How other people feel about that is their business but yes this is a barrier for me too.

Beehivebabe · 03/04/2026 20:42

@MoneyJo. Ah ok thanks might give it a go when I get there. Although do you mean they are changing the design of the pen to stop us doing it?

Beehivebabe · 03/04/2026 20:49

@SmallTreeDeepRoots. I am being upfront that I’m dieting for my holiday and so far people are accepting of that. I went out with friends and they all had dessert after dinner and I had a cup of tea! They admired my willpower lol.
I am not telling people I’m jabbing (nor do I advertise any diet I’ve done) simply because I can’t bear everyone going on about it!

MoneyJo · 03/04/2026 21:03

@Beehivebabe yes from April onwards there won't be an extra dose in pens. So the one I have in my fridge will be the last for me I guess.

Beehivebabe · 03/04/2026 21:49

@MoneyJo. Typical lol but I think I will do what you are doing and get a 5 and do 45 clicks as I feel the suppression isn’t as good as the first weeks and I’m jabbing every 6 days currently. I am
aiming to stick to the lowest dose possible.

MoneyJo · 03/04/2026 21:58

Yes I'm keen to stay low too. I was tempted to stick to 2.5 but I probably do need to go up a bit.

Usernameismyname01 · 04/04/2026 09:44

Has anyone got the 5mg pen but then continued to only jab 2.5 - this making that pen last 8wks rather than having to buy 2 x 2.5mg pens for the 8 weeks

That’s quite common. You’ll have to store the pen in the fridge.

TheEgg2 · 04/04/2026 11:41

@Usernameismyname01 Just popping over from the February thread.
I’m going to be using a 5mg pen this month but only taking a 2 mg dose or less so it will last for 10 weeks or so. I’m an apparent “super-responder” but the side effects are dreadful and the headaches and dizziness are horrible hence my approach. Also doing it to save money of course! I’m getting my pen from my local pharmacist who is also monitoring my BP as an on v high meds for that.

Teabing · 04/04/2026 12:13

I envy you super responders. I’m expecting my 5mg pen today and will try 3.75mg first. I haven’t lost an awful lot on 2.5mg pen. Hope you feel better with the 2mg dose @TheEgg2

TheEgg2 · 04/04/2026 12:38

I understand @Teabing but can assure you that when my prescription migraine tablets don’t touch the bad headaches and I’m laid low it’s not much fun. For positivity though, my BF had lost nearly 7 stone on Wegovy going up through the doses to 12.5 mg and looks amazing. She’s had no side effects except cold hands and feet. So in
envious of her. Different strokes, eh?

Teensknowitall · 04/04/2026 13:16

I have read everyone stories and haven’t posted until now so have been silently hanging about in the background. It’s lovely as everybody seems so supportive as we are all in the same boat .

I’ve been on Wegovy since 7th February and I’ve lost 19 pounds. Really pleased with this have been on 0.25 for one month and then 0.5 for six weeks now and will probably do 0.5 for the next month as I’m still losing about 2 pounds per week. I’ll make sure I fill up on protein and have definitely upped my exercise as well but it’s just nice to have that little bit of extra help with the injection .

One thing I will say is that it certainly pays to look around for the best deal I started off on med express and for my last prescription I ordered from numan as somebody on here had a discount code. This was definitely worth doing as the code was for £100 off. I also have a £100 off code now if anyone is interested, please PM me. Good luck everyone.

ETPhoneHome19 · 05/04/2026 08:35

I haven’t lost anything this week and it’s time to take the extra dose from my 2.5 pen.
I’ve had a few treats this week so it’s completely understandable but still annoying.
Total loss 5kg/11lbs

MoneyJo · 05/04/2026 09:58

So you can't go up a dose @ETPhoneHome19 until the next pen?

I was really struck by your comment about having a few treats, and I realised I am not really seeing food as a treat anymore. I think for me this is a re-education I am hoping will stick for life.

If I can continue to not feel the need for treats, or give myself other treats that will be a big change to come out of all this.

11lb down today and half a pound off moving into the next scale number in stones.

ETPhoneHome19 · 05/04/2026 11:12

I have my 5mg pen ready, but I’ll use the golden dose from 2.5 tonight.

It’s been a funny week where my routine has been out the window, day out with kids, meal and drinks with friends. I haven’t told anyone I’m on the jabs so trying to appear like I’m being good but still having a treat.
