hi, I thought I would start a new group. I am waiting for my medical review before being issued with my first dose

Just taken my 4th dose, 4.8kg down since 8th March so I’m happy.
just waiting for my next pen to be authorised as I’m trying to change suppliers to save some money.
I ordered some needles so I’m able to extract the extra dose next Sunday. Pen ordered is 5mg so will do 1 week of 3.75 before moving up fully

Gotchagood · 29/03/2026 22:17

Please can I join here?

I have got 2 stone to lose and spent a good year thinking about actually taking the plunge. I kept thinking I could do it on my own but I cannot. I did the first jab tonight and thinking I must be getting side effects immediately!

The side effects are definitely what I’m most concerned about. The jab was surprisingly easy to do

looking forward to being on this journey with you all

MethodToMyMadness123 · 29/03/2026 22:45

I think making the actual decision is the hardest part sometimes. I have just taken my 4th jab and luckily my side effects (so far!) have been mild and manageable. Hopefully yours will be too.
Good luck!

I agree. For me it all happened in a whirl. I had never thought of going on the jabs myself then had a conversation on the Tuesday with a friend who had been on MJ for a while. Discussed it with my DH Tues night (mainly because he's a medical scientist), went online on the Wednesday to see if I could order, collected Thurs and started Thurs night. So no time really to overthink it all. Best thing I've done in ages.

How soon did you all start losing? Been on it a week now but can't see any changes yet

MoneyJo · 29/03/2026 23:23

I lost 4lb in the first week and 2lb a week since. Have you found you're naturally eating less?

tescovaluebread · 29/03/2026 23:35

I’m on the second week of Wegovy. I need to lose about 2 stone. I weigh on a Friday and lost 4lb last week.
Ive never eaten much in the way of actual meals. For me it was chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc. The food noise for me was terrible. I would lay in bed knowing there were biscuits in the cupboard and would have to eat them before I could sleep.
my diet consisted of:
breakfast - nothing
lunch - a cappuccino
dinner a fairly healthy meal
BUT at bedtime I would eat family size bags of crisps, whole packets of biscuits, family size bars of chocolate.
That has all changed, the food noise is nearly gone. I have had chocolate twice and found it too sweet. I don’t want it anymore.
Side effects were:
a nasty constant headache for the first week, gone now.
A feeling of being full all of the time and nausea.
Constipation.
My diet at the moment is:
Breakfast - nothing
Lunch - a protein shake
Dinner - a small meal or sandwich which I don’t normally finish.
Snack - corner yogurt.
i know this isn’t enough food but it’s all I can manage. I don’t intend to stay on the injections more than three months, so hopefully when I stop I will be able to increase my food intake healthily without slipping back into bad habits.
good luck to all of you new starters.

Hi there, I couldn't help but notice your post. This sounds like a classic under eating all day, resulting in your body screaming for more food by the evening. Hence the food noise. The reason I'm quoting you is because with the jab it doesn't look like you're eating much more than you usually do, bar the evening binge. Which means that once you reach goal weight you will be suseptical to to look out for gain.

I know I'm quoting an old post so don't know how you have faired in the recent weeks but my suggestion is to start eating more during the day which means that by the evening, your body isn't starving. It should quiet the food noise.
Google will tell you more about under eating resulting in binge which I recommend to learn about

I did my first jab last night and had a pretty uncomfortable night of feeling like my heart is racing. Fitbit showed me it was up average 10 bpm but at times it was going up 20-30. Did anyone have this? I also feel a little bit jittery and my chest feels tight like when I get anxious

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 30/03/2026 08:43

Morning all, weigh day for me and I’ve lost 1.5lb following week 1, so a little disappointing. Just taken my second jab (2.5mg) and no side effects so far.

Asgoodas · 30/03/2026 11:37

4th weigh in yesterday and another 2lb gone 🎉 just tried a lovely little skirt I bought at Christmas but, at the time, couldn’t even pull the zip half way up. I honestly didn’t expect much but success- not only did it zip up easily; there is room left over 😊 I have been so good and disappointed that the scales are going so slowly so this is a lift - it’s not always about the scales is it?

illsendansostotheworld · 30/03/2026 20:50

Loving MJ so far but never felt so dehydrated despite drinking bucket loads of water all day. Had constipation this morning so going to take a senna tablet tonight.

MoneyJo · 31/03/2026 11:47

Ugh! I lost 2lb over the weekend but appear to have gained it back again today. Evidence that you can't trust the snapshot on any one day and need to look at the longer trend.

It's probably just water weight. I wouldn't worry too much. I weigh once weekly on jab day. It's tempting to do it more often, but I resist. You've got this! x

Thank you. I guess at least I got to see the lower weight and hopefully will again soon!

Seriestwo · 01/04/2026 08:27

Weigh day and I’m down 3lb on week 6. I think 2lb of that was poo, but still.

the constipation is awful

MoneyJo · 01/04/2026 08:32

Well done @Seriestwo

My jab day is tomorrow and I think my net loss this week will only be 1lb but we have been out for dinner twice for different occasions and even though I ate less than I would usually in a restaurant I did eat more than I have been since starting the jabs so I'm fine with that. No more family events for a couple of months!

@Seriestwo 2Ib of poo is still a win 😂😂 I don’t think I’ve lost anything this week. Only lost 1lb last week. I have been jogging and on the bike so I am presuming my body is holding onto water…

Seriestwo · 01/04/2026 17:00

How do you keep your nerve when the scales go up? My urge is to get some wine and carbs to console myself. Which needs to change, obviously

fantom · 01/04/2026 17:22

The scales have been fluctuating wildly for me, partly because I'm in my luteal phase and I always put weight on then. Last week down by 5lbs, this week up by 3.

You need to look at the long term picture. What’s the alternative to you staying on track - hitting the fuck it button and getting fat again? No, it’s likely water or a short term increase and will go down again in a day or two.

stay the course!

MoneyJo · 01/04/2026 17:40

I found that the scales going up didn't make me eat more. I think the penny has finally dropped with me that eating more makes you gain weight! Now I just think I want to make sure they don't go up again.

rockstarshoes · 01/04/2026 17:49

I’m going to change this to old money because that’s what I’m weighing in otherwise it’s going to get too confusing
2nd week done
loss 2lb
total loss 6.5ib
No side effects - although today I’m starving, haven’t eaten anything bad though - just done my 3rd jab in the hope the hunger disappears! 🤣

Beehivebabe · 01/04/2026 18:08

I’ve just started my 2nd pen on 2.5 and I’ve currently lost 17lbs. It has def slowed down, but it’s still going the right way thankfully.
I don’t get the same suppression as the early weeks but I do get full fairly quickly. No major side effects, just a bit of constipation and feeling cold. And after reading a thread about hair loss I’ve just bought some biotin tabs to start taking just in case!

MoneyJo · 01/04/2026 18:09

Is that 17lb in a month @Beehivebabe ? On your first pen? That's amazing!

Beehivebabe · 01/04/2026 18:31

@MoneyJo thank you, yes! My sw was 19st 13, now 18st 10. I would expect to see a good drop if I am dieting, but I am sticking to it as it’s too expensive not to haha! Something has shifted in me though in terms of getting my weight under control so I’m seizing it!!
